We obtained multiple estimates for the sub-slab depressurization method for radon mitigation, and with similar prices, the decision came down to who demonstrated the most sophisticated approach with a commitment to excellence. Choosing Cook's Radon, was the easiest decision we have had to make in the multiple phases of a massive remodel / renovation on our new home (built 2002). The solution offered by Cook's Radon was thoughtfully geared toward what was best for our individual situation, safest, least intrusive, and also considered aesthetics, too, when it came to the exterior venting and motor location, and we genuinely appreciate that. Additionally, Cook's credentials and sophisticated test equipment gave them the edge. Before occupying the home, we monitored radon levels in our unfinished basement for several months with a quality detector that is able to store data long-term in graph form, and we previously saw averages in the 4-5 pCi/L range, with spikes as high as 8.0. Following the installation by Cook's, the graph numbers are like they fell off a table with averages under 1.5. Cook's knowledge, attention to detail, and friendly professionalism is head and shoulders above the other radon mitigation providers we considered. I'm proud to leave Cook's Radon a 5 star review for the following reasons: as an out of state buyer that knew nothing about radon (really, nothing), Monique answered my call and spent a significant amount of time explaining the systems, types, cost, how they would test and what installation would be like. We were in the due diligence phase for our home and time was running out...she was kind enough to go on a Saturday to drop off the test and Blake picked it up after 48 hours. Truly--I mean, who does that for people nowadays? They were closed and that was not a work day, yet she made it happen! They then proceeded to write-up an estimate to repair, stuck to their pricing and Blake even called me while he was at the house to explain what he was doing during the installation. He did a great job at assessing the space and where it would go so that it was easy to access. He also called me after installation and tested it again to check the levels and they dropped significantly! All-in-all, they were true professionals with excellent communication, honest, quick to reply and answer any questions and just so kind and easy to work with, especially since I'm on the other end of the country! Very methodical approach with test sites to do communication tests, and worked with me to place the new PVC lines hidden away so it doesn't impact my future basement finishing. Horrible customer service. I wanted an alarm put on the system that Cook's installed. When I called to ask why they didn't show up for the appointment I was told it was my fault. I didn't accept their google calendar invite. Then I asked to set up a new appointment, so I was told again why it was my fault I didn't accept the invite. Then I was told that they wouldn't help me. That they wouldn't come out and do the work, even though no one else wants to put an alarm on a system they didn't install. In addition they guy (possibly the owner) was extremely rude and said don't call back. Terrible read more

We moved into a new home recently and Cook's installed a brand new radon system as the result of the home inspection. All good, right? Until it rained. Then we started to have tripped breaker switches. I called Cook's Radon since their system was the only thing added to that particular breaker since we moved in. Tony Cook himself came out and checked the outdoor elements for water intrusion. Even though they didn't detect water in the switch, they decided it might be a faulty fan, which the replaced at no charge. Next rain, same problem. So Cook's sent out more technicians who rewired the fan unit to a different breaker switch. That seemed to fix the problem. Kudos to Cook's Radon. They stayed with the problem - through 3 different visits - until the problem was resolved. Can't say enough positive things about them. read more

We have used Cook's Radon twice this year after finding elevated radon levels at both our previous and new homes. Both times, they did a fantastic job. Their communication, evaluation, quote process, installation of the system, and follow-up are all very effective, efficient, and professional. We worked with the same installation crew at both homes, and they did exceptional work both times. The systems were perfectly designed for each home, and Eli and Mike did wonderful installations and provided thorough explanations of the systems, how they function, and how to properly monitor them. They work quickly, are friendly and helpful, and they leave everything in perfect condition when they're done. Blake was very attentive and informative when he came to evaluate our home and design the system. He explained the differences between the two homes' situations and what the possible solutions may be. Monique and Tony did a great job of explaining our new home's unique situation and what the proposed solution would do to help with the radon problems. Everyone is willing to answer questions and make sure that we fully understand what is being done and how it will address the problem. They were able to even better customize the system to address slight changes in what their testing showed. I choose Cook's Radon to install my inside Radon mitigation system because they have a long track record of success and guaranteed, in writing, to reduce the Radon level to 2.5 pCi/L or below. They were one of the few mitigation companies I found which were fully licensed and carried both worker's comp and liability insurance. They did a thorough, professional job. The mitigation system is so quiet that I cannot hear it running anywhere in the house. An independent post mitigation test confirmed the Radon level was reduced to 1.5 pCi/L.
