We reserved Dan's truck for a 2nd time for our daughter's graduation party. We wanted food that was great tasting, easy to manage, and had gluten-free options. Cool Beans checked all of those boxes for us. Dan and his team came in on time, stayed and served amazing tacos and chips to our guests, and did so with a smaile. We recently attended an engagement party for close friends and were delighted to find the food for the night was to be served by the Cool Beans Taco Truck! The team quickly served the entire party an assortment of tacos and side dishes. No one waited more than a few minutes. I had a few fish tacos - some blackened salmon and some mahi mahi. They were both excellent, but especially the mahi. It was limey and adorned with fresh toppings. I also especially enjoyed the grilled street corn! Everyone at the party thought the food was wonderful and the ingredients especially fresh! I will definitely be following them to find public events and those mahi mahi tacos again! read more

Cool temperature and cool truck. Staff was super friendly and helpful. The taco special was very good. Received three tacos and they had three different fillings, so I tried all three. The salmon was cooked perfectly and tasty, the pork was even better and the chicken was good too. The Cannoli bites were out of this world. The little balls of funnel cake were so much better than you get at most of the food stands, wowser! When I have the opportunity will have to try the beans & greens. read more

Ordered the nachos with chicken... they were placed in a large boat with a smaller boat inside of it that contained the nachos. Said they came with guacamole and I received a container with a squiggle of guacamole in the corner of this little cup. Not worth the money and really should be ashamed of what they served. read more

Really enjoyed the tacos from this food truck today which was parked outside my building complex. A variety of options are offered, I went with the blackened salmon tacos. I was very impressed with the amount of salmon placed in each taco and how healthy yet filling it tasted. You can opt in or out of the toppings which included guacamole, pico de Gallo, lime creme and cheese. The pricing was fair and the rest of the menu looked delicious. So I really struggled to give a review for this truck. This was the option for food at the Grist House brewery in Millvale so we decided to try it out. We ordered a bunch of different things for our table including the chicken tacos, the vegetarian tacos, the chorizo tacos, the beef tacos, and the chips and guac and the chips and queso. First I would like to say that as a queso Specialist, yellow cheese melted is not queso. It is nacho cheese. I also would not call these "street tacos ". Pretty much everything we ate lacked seasoning and was cold by the time we walked it the 20 feet to the table. We really wanted to like it especially with the amount of money we spent, and the amount of time we waited in line, but I don't think I would eat there again. Three stars because the girls inside the truck were nice. Didn't get any pictures of this one. read more

I'm giving this a five solely because these guys are awesome and they can cook. The funnel cake dipped cannoli bites are phenomenal. I've spent years looking for this truck. I recently got to try their actual food and it's good. It's just heavy for lunch so I couldn't finish my grilled chicken and cous cous. As far as flavor goes these guys have flavor. My grilled chicken played well with the spinach, kale, escarole, red pepper and cheese building upon layers of flavor. This reminds me of something I'd eat in the fall. It's like a warm salad in a bowl. If you ever get a chance to try the funnel cake dipped cannoli, go for it. It'll change your life. Thank me later! read more

Pathetic example of a taco truck. For 21 dollars I got four tacos, two shrimp and two beef. First off, way over priced for the little food you get. The tacos were dripping grease and had little flavor to the beef. The toppings were minimal at most and you enjoyed maybe one bite with the toppings if you were lucky. No hot sauce to add to tacos. Just a pathetic display of a taco truck. I wouldn't mind spending over five dollars a taco if they were actually good and worth it. These were not. Would not get again and can't compare to any other tacos in Pittsburgh. read more

Just attended a graduation party in Franklin Park where cool bean tacos was the caterer. The tacos were excellent and you had a lot of choices which made it even better. Dan the owner of Cool Beans also has a small restaurant called Legends across the street from AGH which was always excellent. Give one of them a try, you'll like it. read more

The tacos I had were decent, but they were too sweet with not enough savory. I got the beef tacos and the korean BBQ tacos, and I honestly couldn't tell which was which. That being said, the toppings were tasty, and I really enjoyed their hot sauce. I'll give them another shot, but I wasn't very impressed. read more

OK, it's probably premature to give this truck five stars, but it's all I have to go on... The jalapeño popper sandwich? Probably the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. It was so so so good. Honestly I should probably subtract a star just because I can't find a picture of their menu board that has the jalapeño popper sandwich actually on it. That's all I've had. And that's all I have to go on. If you like jalapeño poppers, and you like spicy food, and you like sandwiches then you should go to this truck and eat this sandwich. And if they don't offer it when they visit your venue? Then you should raise your voice and point and gesticulate and be outraged and question their intelligence for not making this a regular menu item. read more

This is the worst food truck I have ever had. $14 for 2 tacos and chips and queso. The "queso" is literally canned cold cafeteria cheese. The beef brisket was shaved so you barely got anything. The salmon had a nasty fishy flavor like it was old. I took a bite out of each and threw it away. Now I see why there was not a long line. Stay away! read more

This is a quick and semi tasty food truck option. I enjoyed the blackened salmon tacos, though felt the salmon was so so, and was over powered by the cabbage. I also thought that the avocado cream dollop and sour cream drizzle is annoyingly placed bc it's more on the outside than the inside and sparse at best regardless... so you're basically a mess for an underwhelming experience.. would I order again? Probably.. bc it's local and convenient.. 5 bucks a taco seems high to me... but it given competition reasonable. read more

If you have a Costco membership you can also run a food truck. Chicken taco was definitely frozen processed chicken with runny processed guacamole. Get ready to empty your wallet and cut off your socks - $8.00 for some frozen tater tots with excessive amounts of seasoning salt. read more

I had the salmon taco and the Korean BBQ as part of a special where I received a free meal for test-driving a Ford car, so I can't comment on pricing. As for the tacos themselves, the salmon came out a bit dry, with very little taste, although I might have chanced onto a dud. On the other hand, the Korean BBQ taco was delicious, juicy and full of flavor, so it all sort of balanced out. The staff I interacted with were friendly and cheerful. read more

This is one of my favorite trucks in Pittsburgh. I ordered a salmon shrimp and pork taco along with a side of loaded tots. The food was amazing. Everything was so fresh and well prepared. I added some of the hell fire sauce and it was outstanding. I will definitely be back to try the chicken and beef tacos next time!! read more

I tried their food this summer when they had their food truck in squirrel hill and lets just say I'm not wowed. I thought it would be a nice meal consisting of all my favorite foods, but instead I felt like I was eating olive oil with a side of greens and beans. I feel like it would've tasted great if there was only 1/4 of the amount of oil placed in my meal. I won't be searching for them again. A year or so ago when I ate the beans and greens from this truck, it was really very good - lots of flavorful greens cooked just right - tender but still crunchy. I was happy to see them back in my neighborhood today, so I ordered the closest thing on their menu, which was a beans and greens and pasta dish. While it was still fairly tasty, there was very minimal amount of anything except pasta, and the beans seemed mushy like from a can. This meal is what I would throw together in 5 min in a pinch; not what I would buy when out with other food trucks and restaurants around. I wish I hadn't spent $10 + tip on this. read more
