The build quality of the fence seems good. However, we were disappointed to find that they screwed a metal ad plate into the side the fence once it was done. Now it'll be a chore to remove + fill in the screw holes. We reached out to Rain City Fence about this, and they sent us a highlighted screenshot of the contract we'd signed in, which does give them the right to do this. Clearly we made a mistake in failing to read it closely enough. But there are also fence companies you can do business with that aren't going to put things like this in the contract. read more

My fence turned out great. It was straight-forward to get a bid, and the team was helpful in answering some questions. There was a bit of a hiccup on the actual scheduling, as the guys called me to tell me they were coming to start work and I hadn't planned for them to start work that day. But I was at home so it was fine. Taylor was so great to work with on-site. He is super detail-oriented, he's a great communicator, and he's also a great problem solver. He gave me daily updates, he patiently answered my (stupid) questions, and he and Matthew helped change some parts of the fence at the end that didn't look quite right to me. I am delighted with how the fence has turned out and I really think it is 100% because of Taylor's excellent skills. Was thoroughly impressed with Rain City Fence from start to finish. Caleb provided a very competitive bid for our fence, gate, and railing project. I had a few special requests as far as style of the fence - I wasn't looking for something that was 'cookie cutter'. He was willing to work with my requests in a way that made sure I got what I wanted and also made sure the price of the fence remained reasonable. He was super patient with all of my back-and-forth on the estimate. In the end, the proposal was exactly as I wanted and I felt really good about moving forward with their bid. When it came to install, Taylor and his crew were fantastic. I can be very picky about quality of workmanship and Taylor delivered. He kept me up-to-date about how the install was going and was sure to reach out when he needed my input. The finished fence is beautiful and a wonderful addition to our back yard. I am so glad I hired this company to install my new cedar fence. John was great at calling me and texting re scheduling/ work times. John and Matt worked together and got our fence built in 3 days--John even came alone on a weekend day to advance the project because he knew I was heading out of town. They arrived and got straight to work, and cleaned up every time at the end of their day. We had a few weird areas (spacing) and John was awesome at consulting us for our opinions, and telling us options--definitely knows his stuff, abd had answers to all my questions. A beautiful job. I need to add that I had yard waste in my yard from trimming shrubs so the new fence could be built; I hadn't gotten to bag it/ dump it pre-construction. Rain City is a good company but... Before you hire them.. on the initial walk through be VERY VERY clear about the work plan. I mean DETAILED. Don't let them look it over and then give you their estimate. They completed two fences, and Eli and the crew did a good job. Caleb is a charming and personable fellow... but be dead certain you know what you are contracting for. On one fence they said a block of cement was "part of the grade" and when we noted that the bottom board was at a major incline we asked them to remove it so the bottom would be straight. Something that should have been pointed out at the time of the estimate. It wasn't. So. this amounted to $275, "change order".. on the other fence, (these are known as "window top" style since they contain pickets... the distance between them was irregular and it looked terrible. We had to keep a very close eye on them to prevent a slapdash assembly. After a few attempts Eli figured out how to solve the problem and the result looks ok. Do NOT just take an estimate and let them build it. You'll get whatever they decide to assemble. Making ANY changes (even as simple as making the fence look normal).. will cost you, big time. read more
