Took my 3 year old daughter here for her first haircut. I called for an appointment and to my expectation they were busy since it was the weekend before school started. Luckily I was able to get an appointment for a same day appointment that afternoon. When we arrived you're immediately overwhelmed with the amount of random products they sell. Toys, hair accessories, hair products, etc. We had to wait for about 10 mins before being seated. The waiting area is a I'm a maze of stands of products. All the fun kid car chairs were taken so we were sat in a regular salon chair. I wish I could remember the name of the stylist but she was great. It was an older Hispanic women, she was very patient and kind to my daughter. She let her watch some cartoons on the tv that is situated in front of each salon chair. She was quick and done in less than 15 mins. She even applied some curling product to her hair and styled it in large ringlets. I highly recommend checking this place out for a good quality kids haircut. read more

Took my faughters in for a haircut on Friday (3 days ago). Both are middle school age so wouldn't expect this to happen but they both got lice! Never had it before, even in kindergarten. Just shows you that this place doesn't clean or take care of it's equipment. If you want your kids to get lice and save a few dollars then this is the place to go! read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. My son had a terrible haircut that he had to live with all summer, and it was very disappointing. Based on our experience, I wouldn't go back, and I definitely wouldn't trust them to cut another child's hair. I would advise parents to consider other barbers or salons for their kids. read more

I've gone to several places for haircuts for my toddler and this place has done a pretty good job whenever we go. My kid is able to enjoy the nice service of the hair cutters aa they provide him with lollipops, bubbles, TV shows on the screen, or even video games. We just moved to South Florida a few months ago. A friend recommended a high end salon for my 5-year old. Although it was a very nice salon and the owner was cool, they didn't cut my son's hair quite the way we were use to. Imagine my excitement when we found a Cool Cut 4 Kids in town!!! We came from Vegas and went to Cool Cuts 4 Kids out there for 3 years and loved our stylist. I scoped out the Yelp reviews before making and there were several names that stood out in my head. I called to make an appt and luckily Joyce, whose name was mentioned several times in the Yelp reviews, was available for my time slot. Woohoo! Cool Cuts is located in the heart of Hollywood next to several retail and food stores for convenience. When you walk into Cool Cuts here, it's merchandise heaven for the kids! Lol. The first thing my girls saw was all the TY plush toys. Ha. Not gonna lie, they're smart with all the merchandising. Joyce was incredibly friendly and so good with my son. She is funny and straight to the point. Love her personality. And she has the best reviews on Yelp too. We did good with our choice. And my kid's hair looks awesome!!! Joyce cut it EXACTLY like the photo I showed her. She even added green color spray to my son's hair, just for fun. And green is his favorite color. I'm giving this place 2 stars because the owner is nice and tried to make peace from a disaster. She offered for a credit or refund, which is a fair gesture as a business owner and appreciated, and made notes on my account to only have Deanna in the future but I don't understand what people, like Elena, don't understand what a TRIM is ! I came here before and we had Deanna. She was good and understood the term "TRIM" and we went on our happy merry little way. When I told Elena I wanted a trim to just clean up the knots off the ends of my sons hair, she decided to do whatever she wanted. At first she was just going to cut his hair dry and I should've trusted my gut and walked out because I felt like she was in her own world not paying attention. I am so furious and upset what she did for a TRIM on my sons hair. He sat facing me on my lap as he was not having it not in the chair. So unfortunately, I couldn't see what Edward scissor hands was doing to his hair. My son had beautiful curls/ringlets and now they're merely there because it's like a Shirley temple bob. It's horrible !!!! I don't understand how people just do whatever they want in a service position. She legit cut off at least 2.5-3inches. I wanted to keep my sons hair longer with his curls until I was ready to cut it short, Not Elena! Just really pissed and upset. Use Deanna or someone else but please, if you want to not have an experience like mine with your son/daughters long beautiful hair, then DO NOT use Elena. Spoke to her in soothing tones, very kind, and gentle with her. The whole process including wash and cut went quickly. This was my sons first time here. He is 17 months old, and this was his second hair cut. The first haircut (at another establishment) went so horribly wrong, screaming & moving and just not enjoyable. The hair stylist wasn't able to cut much off and it was pretty choppy. We were recommended by family and decided to give it a go. They had cute little car chairs for them to sit in, and tv for them to watch. My son did not scream..at all. I am utterly and thoroughly amazed with Cool Cuts 4 Kids in Hollywood. My son hates - no, abhors - haircuts. He cries, he thrashes forward, backward, sideways, anywhere the stylist is NOT, so that they won't cut his hair. I decided to try a new place, figuring that the worst that could happen is that had still hate it. Well, he still hated it. But here's the difference. They saw that my son is an explorer, so they let him wander and feed his curiosity. They saw that he immediately cringes and screams when scissors or clippers are within a foot of his head, so they befriended him. They let him sit on the managers chair. They let him explore their office/break room/ laundry room area. They gave him 4 lollipops, so he could keep unwrapping them (he doesn't eat them). They traded off stylists, like tag team wrestlers. They cut little snips here and there, in the hair cutting chair, on the floor, in their office, in their merchandise area (yes, that's carpet), in their play waiting area, even outside for a moment. Let's be honest, it wasn't the best haircut. But, given his behavior, I wouldn't expect it, because otherwise they'd nick his ear or neck. They were patient, kind, friendly, playful, and comforting. They became whatever he needed in that moment. And in the end, he got his haircut. It took 2 stylists over an hour, but he looks great. Gary, Jenny and Rossana were gems. They are blessed with the patience of saints. I also witnessed some of the other stylists with an equally upset child (maybe even more so, because Sawyer is chill as long as the scissors are far away), exhibiting the same warm nurturing kindness. I got to speak to Gary for some time, and he assured me childrens' fears, for whatever reason, are justified. And understanding that is key to working with them. He even invited us to come in for my son to play and get comfortable, even when he doesn't need a haircut. Needless to say, I will be back. I highly highly recommend them. After what I saw today, I think they must be especially wonderful with special needs kids. read more

This was my sons first haircut experience I have to say they handled him and our family very well. Joyce was our assigned stylist and she was able to accommodate our little one very well. After numerous amount of failed attempts to find the right place to get my son who is about to turn 4 a hair cut without fighting I have found the perfect place which is here at Cool Cuts 4 Kids. Yes, I was a walk in and I didn't have to wait long to be attended which made it even better. The wait was so short my son asked if he can play a little bit after he was done. The stylist was Brianna and I might just stick with her because she is friendly, fun and can keep up with my little chatter box. His hair cut was just what he likes and what we asked for and for once he didn't even really move or fight while getting his hair cut. The atmosphere is fun and modern as they have xbox connected to tv's and can play any dvd which the selections are plenty. My 2yr didn't understand that he was not allowed to sit in the car and not get a haircut. It is advertised they are open till 7 and walkins are welcome. I think this place was very friendly and energetic I personally am giving it 3 stars because they got my daughter to sit and listen but they are in a rush it seems. I personally asked them to give my daughter side swept bangs and they gave her bangs across. I am pretty annoyed because she looks like a boy now also the glitter was a nice touch but still wish I would of gotten what I wanted she also pushed for a full hair cut which was super annoying when she cut the end and was like "now we will cut the rest" I obviously to let her do the rest of the damn hair because I needed it even. This business is bias and I believe they over charge ethnic customers. Cool Cuts 4 Kids need to explain what is being done and the charges of service "before" service is provided. Secondly, I suggest they properly interviewed the calls so that they can assess the customer's needs of service and prices. I called ahead to inquire about the services of Cool Cuts 4 Kids for ethnic hair and I was told yes and no matter the hair type the cost of service is the same. As a first time customer, the experience was very disappointing and deplorable. The stylist was unprofessional. We came for a haircut and wash ans we were charged a "misc. service" of $40 due to length of time in the salon (they explained we took up an 1hr); detangling in which the stylist had asked the parent to do the other side on the child's head. I have never heard being charged for the length of time a person spends in the stylist chair for a service??! We were so wrongful charged. As per the stylist, Rossana V., she told the parent to work on detangling her own child's hair to make it easier on her the stylist?! Also to mention, we were charged for a French braid that was not explained before the service was rendered. Poor customer experience and bad business ethics. To my opinion Cool Cuts 4 Kids caters better to thier Hispanic and non-Hispanic Caucasians customers. In sum,  the business is terrible on communication with customers/parents and I believe they price gouge. We were charged "Miscellaneous Service" which was not listed on their wall of services and prices. That service was created just for us. This business is not for those of the ethnic hair.
