They replaced an HVAC coil that was under warranty meaning I was only paying for labor. Sounded great until...the installer made a mistake on installation which caused water to back up into the inlet duct and cause water damage to my garage ceiling. I had to dispute the transaction with my credit card company to get my money back after two months of visits and no solutions. I have two pages worth of details with admitted installation mistakes, 12 visits over 3 months, a painter simply painted over the water damage, and my HVAC system still is not working properly. However, I'm still expected to pay because I won't let them come out a 13th time as they are completely guessing at what the issue is each time and I'm not willing to waste any more of my time on this company. Interestingly, the second line of their terms and conditions reads, "Your business is appreciated and we will do everything in our power to see that you are 100% satisfied...or you don't pay!" When I mentioned this to the supervisor he said, "Well it isn't that simple." The terms and conditions also guarantee other things about their experienced and trained people that all cost money to deliver "superior service." This is to lure you into feeling confident about handing them your money. Here's my experience: 1. Superior service doesn't install things incorrectly three times. 2. Superior service doesn't schedule the maintenance technicians when an installation tech is needed. 3. Superior service doesn't send a painter to fix drywall water damage. 4. Superior service doesn't brag about being "cool today, not cool tomorrow" and then take 12 visits over 3 months and still not fix the problem. But oh, the issue is me - the homeowner for not letting them keep coming. 5. Superior service doesn't charge labor when that labor installs something incorrectly multiple times, causes damage to a structure, and never finishes the job in a timely manner. 6. Superior service should offer an apology and make amends for the stress and challenges of a poorly performed and unfinished job. But hey, this is just my experience. It's just an outstanding $3,000.00 bill for an incomplete job because I'm unreasonable for thinking I was hiring a qualified company that was honest about their business practices. read more

Beware of this company coming into your home. They have a employee that is a electrician that he and his girlfriend broke into my deceased fathers home that was locked and secured and squatted. I had to pay an attorney $2500 to have them ejected from home. Largo Florida Police was no help. I contacted the company and told them about their employee and told them I was advocating for elderly people that this employee has the perfect job to case homes when the elderly person tell him, "I'm a snow bird, living part time here". Apparently this employ told company he had a lease which is a complete lie. I do not know these people and I sure didn't receive any money if they had a lease. This is squatters ammo saying they have a lease. I did a review on their web site and this was their response: Cool Today (Owner) 2 weeks ago We have investigated this serious allegation, and this is an inaccurate depiction of the situation. This is not a Cool Today related matter. I beg to differ with "owner". This is definitely a Cool Today matter for safety of person (customer) that this employee is going into a persons home and he is able to case the home. If my review is an "inaccurate depiction" they why do I have a summons with employees name on it and why did Judge order them ejected from my fathers home. They told me it is not a Cool Today related matter because they never did work on my fathers air conditioner. I have pictures of company truck sitting in my father's driveway. And yet he is stilled employed with Cool Today! We are living in a lawless society that a person can break into a home that is not theirs and live there and I as owner of property had to paid an attorney to have them removed. Thank god Governor DeSantis signed bill to make squatting a crime and sheriff can remove people immediately. I guess he will now have to pay rent like law a bidding citizens do. read more

Last year we completely retiled our home. As a result, we were left with a great deal of fine dust on our walls and in our ducts. We decided to have our ducts cleaned but needed an extremely thorough job to get to all that fine dust. We then solicited bids from 3 local vendors to clean the duct, the blower/handler and the dryer vent. We chose Cool Today. They were the most expensive bid (by a considerable amount). But they were the most thorough in their assessment of what we needed done. Their Sales Consultant, Pete Franciosi, came to the house and spent 45 minutes inspecting and analyzing what we needed. He then recommended a series of customized (hand written) expenditures for services based on what he found during his inspection. He explained each so we understood and did not press us to purchase any or all of his recommendations. We signed and scheduled all the services recommended. On the day of our services, two very professional technicians arrived, on time. Chris Norris and Ron White. Both were very pleasant and knowledgeable about what they were going to do at our home. At 9AM they predicted that with everything we needed done they would be here 5 1/2 to 6 hours. As they worked on our home they took time to explain what they were doing and gave helpful suggestions to maintain our system post the cleaning. To our surprise, Pete showed back up to inspect the work and to see if we were satisfied. You rarely see the Sales Consultant come back. This is for ENERGY TODAY. I had a breaker that kept triggering during thanksgiving week and after multiple phone calls with the closest available appointments being 1+ weeks away, energy today was able to arrive two days later. Darren Ali showed up and was the most professional, friendly, and intelligent electricians... After an initial assessment of the most rational and likely cause of simple bad breaker needing replacement, unfortunately, the breaker showed to be not the culprit. A follow up consultation was needed for a potentially 3+ hour return which required testing every single outlet and switch associated with the breaker. Darren showed up for the next visit after again, a courtesy call, announcing his arrival 10+ min prior , Greg was able to find the problem after about 10 min into his investigation and was honest enough to charge a FRACTION of what was originally going to be needed for the potential of examining every piece of electrical related mechanisms, as mentioned. THIS is a true test of a repairman's honesty.. the kind that shows up on cable or news shows with hidden cameras that test the integrity of local home repair services. Suffice to say I gave Darren a nice tip and let his superiors know his personal integrity and the satisfaction of my experience with their company. 17Jun; called CT about the a/c unit running continuously but no air into the house. Agent said they would be out next day. Called again in afternoon of 18Jun and was told Jorge would be here. Jorge showed up and diagnosed thermostat was to blame. Reset thermos and all was well. About 26Jun, same issue - no cool air but unit was running. Agent said Jorge would return. Jorge arrived and found fan motor was bad and he would have new motor on 27Jun. 27Jun-no motor or a/c. called Agent and was told motor would be installed between 3-5pm on 28Jun. After asking for a Supervisor on 28Jun, agent said she could get a/c running. 29Jun, Jorge had "temporary" motor and installed it; at least I had a/c. Jorge said motor ordered was not correct one. 6Jul called again and was told by Kevin that Brandy would call back to schedule installation. 8Jul, Jorge had motor and when trying to install, found it to be the incorrect one AGAIN! Jorge went to Siesta Key and then the Carrier dealer. Finally got the correct motor and had it installed. now a/c is working. All-in-all, 6 out of 14 days without any a/c. None of this appears to be Jorge's fault... agents made promises to get rid of a complaining customer, ordered wrong motor, didn't return calls as promised, etc. Technicians are fully knowledgeable of job but office personnel appear to be lacking. read more

This Company installed my HVAC system in 2009. I also had them install a new hot water heater, and a cost saving unit called Zero Energy. Zero Energy is a devise that takes the hot gas from the condensing unit if the system is in heating or cooling mode and uses the hot gat to heat the water in your water heater allowing you to have more hot water than you would normally use, and it 's free. In the summer months I turn the breaker off because the system is in cooling mode mostly day and night allowing me to save big time on my electric bill. In the winter I put the breaker for the water heater back on because the need for heat isn't that demanding for my family. Living here in Florida the Temp isn't that severe so I set my thermostat very low and the zero energy system doesn't have the hot gas as it does when the system is in the cooling mode. I highly recommend this company for your HVAC requirements. They also award customers for referrals should you send them business that goes to contract. I purchase a service contract with them every year where they service my system twice a year. They offer coupons and always inform me of new cost saving methods. It's just something I don't have to worry about, and having them look after all of it is a load off my mind. read more

We have had cool today out on our personal home three times and every visit has been exceptional. We just purchased a new unit as well for one of our rental properties and the sales and install crew were on it and had the job completed just hours after a call needing the unit replaced, I would say they are not going to be the least expensive choice you can make but from our four experiences now you get what you pay for. I would like to give an extra special shout out to Jacob C. for him locating black mold in our top of the line Trane unit that we had purchased several years ago from a large Services company locally. That large company we had a service contract with had been doing a horrible job and not properly servicing and cleaning this complex Trane system. The result was the unit was making me very ill from all the mold. I kept mentioning to them that I knew something was wrong and all they kept saying to us is that it's fine and trying to sell me additional items instead of doing what I had been paying for which was properly cleaning and serving our unit as was in the service contact. Upon their arrival they did a quick assessment of the problem, identified the need to procure additional parts and advised they would be back within an hour and a half; they returned in just under an hour. They went to work and stayed on task until both of our toilets were "rebuilt" which under the TotalCare Club Membership is covered both in labor and in parts. The work area was left as clean as it was before they started their work. We also had a potential problem with our water softener to which Mr. Lustica provided his input to include what to watch out for as I ran our diagnostics on the water softener. Mr. Lustica and Mr. Josh demonstrated their expertise in the plumbing area, maintained a professional demeanor coupled with a friendly attitude during the time in our home; this coupled with a very friendly approach and handling of our two "Fur Kids" who were excited to have visitors, showed their excitement, which was met with care towards our "Fur Kids." read more

There aren't enough words to describe how grateful we are for the outstanding response and service we received yesterday from their electrician Mike Manibusan and office receptionist Glenda. They both demonstrated that Taking Care of People (TCP) is more than just a company slogan, it's a philosophy that the employees live by. Around 4 in the afternoon on Saturday the lights in one section of the house went out as we were setting up for a big 60th Birthday Party celebration that started at 7 pm. It was thundering, raining and the sun was rapidly setting. The lights involved included the lanai and part of the dining/living room area. I called and explained to Glenda the situation and she was very emphatic. Even though it was last minute and they were booked with other customers, they made it happen and fit us in. Mike who was very friendly and reassuring, got right to work to diagnose and fix our problem. We had lights back on just as the first guests were arriving. I bought a house in December, little did I know the AC Duct work would be a mess from the vacant house sitting for so long and a few little animals calling it their home. Cool Today came out to do a duct cleaning and Aeroseal. Well after we got in there it was clear that cleaning and aeroseal would not do the trick. They were honest and gave a fair more than fair price. In 2 days, with 4 hard working guys they had all our new duct work installed. Their team was efficient, they showed up early, they even WORE SHOE covers even though my house was under construction. If I could give one piece of advice to any friends or family -- hire a LICENSED and REPUTABLE company for any work you need. If they are a little more money - SO WHAT! In the end, they will do it right the first time and they will be there if it needs fixing again. They have been back since for regular maintenance on my upstairs and again, very friendly, prompt and a pleasure to work with. We purchased two Carrier new high efficiency HVAC units in January 2014 from Cool Today and decided to get an annual maintenance plan covering both units. Kim Wellman came to do our semi-annual inspection and tune up, Oct 24, 2017. She arrived on time and performed all of the routine work. She found that a capacitor on one of our units was on the verge of failure and replaced it... no charge/under warranty. She indicated that I should really consider installing UV lights to control growth and micro organisms in our systems. She said that since I was her final call of the day, she could do it immediately as the units were in the van. We decided to take her advice because I saw the photos inside the units. She installed both. She kept me informed of all the steps and some of the things I may notice. She was patient, thorough and informative about the entire call and what she did. She was excellent, but I find in general most at Cool Today very capable. Her additional strength is her ability to communicate. read more

We had discovered some water on our floor. We called N&M to see if they could help us figure out if it was coming from a failed wax ring or from somewhere in the wall. The plumber wasn't here 5 minutes and was already talking about repiping the entire house. He cut a whole in the wall and immediatly said you have mold everywhere. He quickly drew up an estimate for over $7 grand wanting me to sign for a total repipe. Oh he was going to be generous and throw in a water heater even though mine was fine. Absolute con job from jump street. We had no mold, pipes are fine and it was a simple wax ring that failed on the toilet. Overall a minor leak. He also called his buddy at Wright Way for water mitigation, I am certain they are working together to rip people off and oversell. I feel really bad for the elderly and others who get taken advantage of by these high pressure scare tactics. Forget these guys all they want is to sell high priced repipes and run the bus over you. A total waste of time and very upsetting! read more

A water heater broke in the morning. Called them around 8am. They sent a plumber to fix it by 9am. Response was very good and they did replace the water heater. However, they charged $880 for a $300 water heater! As someone else mentioned, that is around $250 an hour for labor. They got me. I had no choice. But obviously I should be able to find someone that is responsive and reasonable. As a follow-up...Lowe's has the same size water heater with a 12 year warranty. They guarantee same day install. Total for that water heater was 675, or $205 less than N&M. Here's the other thing. I got the $880 "discount" rate because I had purchased a furnace cleaning contract with them. Otherwise it would have been $977. However, after I found out the outrageous amount they charged me, I called and canceled my service contract. They then informed me that they would add the 10% discount back in. So, $977 - $675 IS $302 more than a water heater with a warranty that is two years longer than theirs. read more

My neighbor recommended this company and I've been very pleased with the service. I recently moved and had questions and concerns about my air conditioning. The tech suggested I purchase a maintenance contract to save money as he had to order parts and return. I decided to get a complete contract covering plumbing and electricity as well. When my kitchen faucet leaked water all over my kitchen one month later, I was so relieved that I could call and get help immediately. The technician was running late but the office called me three times to insure that I knew they were doing their best and when he would arrive. This technician quickly fixed my faucet issue and then provided a complete plumbing inspection (because it was covered under my warranty anyway) and ended up fixing several minor problems that I was unaware of. The service was all covered! I highly recommend this company. They aren't the cheapest, but they are very professional! read more

We are new to CoolToday service but have seen the trucks at a neighbor's house before so I decided to check them out and sign up for a Plumbing Maintenance Plan. We had Michael and David come today to do our maintenance inspection. While they were here, they handled all our concerns and addressed them fairly and honestly. We decided to replace an old, poorly installed toilet with a new one and replace rustly tank bolts on another. They did a nice job on the install of the new Kohler toilet. They did everything on the spot and we are looking forward to no flushing problems or drips or leaks. It's very reassuring to have a plumber to call now and decided that being proactive was the best thing to do. Props to Micheal and David. Joe Z. came out to my home to to a regularly scheduled maintenance. The day before his visit, CoolToday sent me an email with his picture and other info. Joe was very knowledgeable and professional and I was happy to hear that he may be 'assigned' to my account such that we might develop more of a longer-term working relationship. Over the last several years CoolToday has made regular visits to maintain the HVAC that they installed and every time I am impressed with their top-notch employees. Plus their response time in an 'emergency' situation is always with a sense of urgency. There may be companies out there as good as CoolToday but you won't find any better. I'm sure there can be screw ups and misunderstandings as I read in some reviews but I am also sure that some homeowners must be impossible to please. CoolToday may not be the least expensive option but in the end, you will always get what you pay for. read more

Joshua arrived when he said he would, looked at the problem - toilet wax seal, told me what caused the problem and how he would repair it. he also looked in a couple of other places just to make sure water wasn't dripping down the supply line thus creating the impression that it was the wax seal when in fact it might have been elsewhere. he then went out and got his tools and materials needed for the wax seal repair and even changed the bolts which anchor the toilet to the floor. within 30 minutes he was done. he was focused, thorough and very knowledgeable from what i could see. i plan on asking for him when i have my yearly plumbing service performed. i used to perform most of the household repairs myself, but not having the flexibility that i once had and quite frankly the desire, i look for people in the trades that i can trust, know what they're doing and make the repair to my satisfaction. read more

I have had several AC companies over the years providing me with services. This is the only one that actually took off the top of the AC unit outside and cleaned it. They noted I did not have a protective case around the electical outlet and repaired it. The did some other electical repairs. I am waiting for my filters (seemed pricey) and a UV Bulb. Afterwards there is always buyers shock or mistrust and I have experienced that with every AC dealer out there and this company is no different. I always worry that services recommended are actually needed. The technicians are professional and do a good job. I am happy with the work but wonder about the price. My error was in not pricing the items with other outlets to see if they were in alignment with other companies. Oh well, I failed at my due dilligence but will price after the fact and see where they are. Other than that, again, the techs were great. read more

My hot water heater went out and Frankie came to the rescue. He called when he was on his way, he was professional, easy-going and knowledgeable. He didn't just tell me I needed a new water heater; he actually showed me the issue(s) and explained why a new unit would be the most prudent remedy. He thoroughly presented 3 possible options that would feasibly fit my needs. After making my selection, he promptly began the installation and completed it in under the estimated time frame. When finished, he walked me through and explained all the components of the system (that were useful for me to know) and what their functions were. He also explained how to do minor, normal maintenance to the unit if needed. He was a pleasure to deal with.
