If you're older then let's say, I dunno 11? I wouldn't recommend. They have this 'swim test' where they have you swim straight and if you make even one mistake you can't go into the deeper end. You could be 6'8 and they still wouldn't let you. But this is a good area if you have little kids, they might let you go with two kids in the deep end but probably only one. Overall, it's alright. So thankful for Wisconsin public pools. We are very lucky to have this community resource. You have to register for your visit ahead of time, so make sure to go to the website and check for updated hours and information. Everything is well-organized and the staff is doing a great job. I paid $5 for a 2.5 hour slot. That price can definitely get steep if you have a large family, but I did see they sell summer family packages. The grounds are clean and well-maintained and there are a lot of well-trained lifeguards who are closely watching the pool. So glad to have this awesome pool in my backyard! read more

Read some older (negative) reviews, prompted me to add mine. Visited today with grandchildren ages 7 and 9. Admission for each of us was $6.25 - very reasonable! Facilities were very clean and activities ranged from toddler 1' depth to pretty speedy water slides and 4' depth. Yes, our grandkids had to pass a swimming test - took 4 tries for one and 2 tries for the other. Based on other reviews there are those who are affronted by this but we were impressed by the seriousness with which MKE County takes safety. Great experience. read more

A great place to spend an afternoon with kids of any age, particularly if you're sick of the wading pools. Is it spotless? No. It's an outdoor public pool. If you're not cool with that, build a pool in your basement and hire a staff to maintain it. It's definitely cleaner than a lake! Parking is really easy. Locker rooms were big enough that even though I visited on a day with lots of kids from various summer camps/programs, it didn't feel crowded. Entry prices are fair considering all that's offered. There were tons of options for my 4-year-old to have fun for hours. There aren't as many features as at Hoyt, but it seemed more spread out, especially for the little ones which was nice. A great tip from a friend was to bring our own chairs. That way we didn't have to worry about finding open ones, or hoarding them all day. There's plenty of space for chairs in the sun or shade and plenty of pool areas that are shady too. Lots of lifeguards keeping an eye on things and enforcing the rules (no deep end or big waterslides until you pass the swim test, no running, etc). I felt comfortable allowing my kid in the water while I was sitting on the side watching. They also have a little snack bar. Baseball game prices, but it is very convenient. All the stuff you'd expect like candy, brats, nachos, pretzels, ice cream treats, etc. Also, 2 options for kids meals: chicken nuggets or a hot dog, both with really delicious seasoned fries and served in a bucket with shovel. My kid ate most of his meal and then played with the bucket immediately. It's a nice community pool with everything I'd expect. I'd certainly visit again. read more

Horrible, horrible place. If you bring the two kids and want to bring them in 3 ft 2 inches of water (the deep end) you can only take one at a time. One adult to every one child on that side of the pool. Waited 45 mins for food and still didn't make it to the end of the line to actually eat. Lifeguards are 12 year olds on power trips, telling adults what to do. They yell non stop through megaphones that don't work. Horrible place for our tax dollars to go, paying for these idiots summer jobs to boss people around. I'm sorry, I am an adult and if I want to take my two kids (who can swim but not to their standards) in 3 ft of water that my tax dollars pay for, I should be able to. Pathetic. I went at 11 on a sat during 80 degree weather. it didn't get packed until 3. it has a nice area for kids to play along with slides for adults. i haven't gone down the big slides, so i am not sure how they are. the pool water is warm, so you wont be freezing when u jump in. the life guards yell at people a lot for doing stuff they "aren't supposed to be doing", which was a little annoying there were also quite a few of inappropriate swim suits for a family pool. over all, i would go back oh, i forgot to mention, they have miller lite, MGD and mikes hard lemonade for sale! read more

Two huge thumbs down!! Not very clean (lots of sand at the bottom of the pool). Unfriendly staff and lifeguards who yell through their bullhorns a lot about things that are 'against the rules.' Most of what they're yelling about makes no sense. If you have kids under 48 inches tall, there are two slides accessible by stairs. The kids have to go around a corner so you have to follow to keep them in view. But you can't go down the slides with your kids so you have to rush back into the pool so you can get them when they come off the slide. There's more stuff for kids taller than 48 inches but they have to pass a swimming test to play. There's literally no place to sit and watch your kids at the playground - your choice is to stand or sit in the sand. Lunch for two (one of whom was my 3 year old!) was dry and cold and cost $18!!! read more

Web sight states children need to be 48 inches tall to ride slides this is true. However the web page fails to let you know children need to pass a swim test to go anywhere above the baby pool. My niece is 5 feet tall and very apprehensive about taking a swim test. She was unable to go in water 4 feet 6 inches without an adult at arms length without passing the test. My other niece a very strong swimmer but has not mastered the technical (strokes) part of swimming was unable to go on the log or lily obstacle course; a 3 foot 6 inch water area without passing the swim test. All the service is so horrible! if your too tall you can't go on some slides and you have to pass a "Swim Test" to go to the deep end even though your older then 11! And when you walk super slow they say that your running. also, 2 people older then 14 we're asked to do the swim test when they can CLEARLY handle 2 inches higher. Do better read more

Cool Waters ROCKS! Whether you're 5 or 95 you'll have fun here. Zero-depth pool for the kiddies and other kid stuff abounds...but you'd be surprised with how many people without kids show up here for pool fun. Water slides and volleyball too...show up early on the best days to snag a seat because the place fills up quickly! And the place is a pretty good bargain...this past season an individual pass cost $50 and a family of four could get a season pass for $135. Go a half dozen times during the year and it's as affordable and WAY MORE FUN than the same number of movies you could go see at the threatre...go more and you're really having a FUN and CHEAP time! read more

This is a wonderful pool...for children seven and under. They have one very shallow pool open to everyone, which has the typical little kid things (raining mushrooms, etc.). If you want to access the deep pool, you have to take a swimming test. Now, this I completely understand--you don't want your guests to drown! However, you also have to take the swimming test to just use that typical little kid toy, where you clutch to a net while easing yourself along fake logs or lily pads. Now, seeing as usually only small children want to use these and the water is three feet deep, this seems questionable. They also don't explain this swimming test to you anywhere--not the website, not the register. Nowhere. However, as soon as I set foot in the deep end, a lifeguard barked, "Name and password," and expected me to know exactly what she was talking about. But it doesn't stop there. There are four slides in the park. One of these is for babies, one for very small children, and the other two for everyone else. These two for everyone are very slow and tame, with only slight curves and variations in pattern. Put simply, you start wondering when they are going to end. Also, the water is constantly freezing cold--way colder than most pools--and is thick with bandages, dead bugs, and living bugs before the second day is even up. This place has so many stupid rules and you get shouted at for doing almost anything. All the lifeguards are aloof and snappish--you can tell they don't care about the job at all, only that they have one. All in all, I would recommend bringing your *very* small children here, but if you're looking for a challenge or more grown-up fun, this is the exactly wrong place to look. (Ps. You'll notice that the only good reviews come from either the parents of very small children or people who just sat in the shade.) read more

I don't even want to give this place a star because they don't deserve it at all. Just a disappointing place to be at! I took my son here for the first time yesterday and that will be the last time we ever come here! My son who is 10way over 4 1/2ft tall was swimming around on the 3ft side I was sitting in the pool with him watching him swim around when a very rude and very angry man of a life guard came yelling at my son about some stupid username and password for him to be over on the 3ft side. I asked the man what he meant since we are new and that managed to only piss him off more! So much attitude in that teenager. My son tried their stupid "water test" that he had to do in order to basically do anything in that stupid water park and according to that rude ignorant teenage of a life guard "it wasn't good enough" we moved spots and I asked a female life guard who so kindly explained things to us. Their "water test" is the most stupidest thing I have ever heard and! They don't even watch your child do this "test" seems like they pick and chose kids they want. My son couldn't do anything other then the slide and be in the kid section which he was told he is too big for. This place is a disaster and a disappointment. I have a lot of family and friends in the area this park is in. This park just lost so many customers. It's disgusting how it was not kid friendly. They had 6' tall, 15 year olds doing swim tests to go into 4-5 feet water. Also strict on height for every slide. Only had 4, 2 person rafts available for the slide too. Obnoxious. I love the pool, the park, and the price, but it's the clientele that makes me hate going. As usual the parents don't watch heir kids, they're rude and constantly kicking or bumping into people, and while the lifeguards try to stop inappropriate behavior there simply aren't enough. read more

Considering Milwaukee generally has crappy pools, Cool Waters is a favorite. A little on the pricier side and can be crowded, but it's big, has a great kids section and great slide, and has a nice section just to swim and hang with friends. Obviously not a good place if you are past your late 20's, but very fun with friends. read more

The snack bar had 1 person working at it, the 'deep end' is 4 foot 9, you must take a swim test to go there for anyone 16 and under ( i think it should be based on height) and the life gaurds dont pay attention to the swim test so they say you failed because they were day dreaming. read more
