Food is great, service is great at the bar (normally) as long as Nicole, Jenn, or Tiffany is bartending. Certain servers are great... Amber and Becca. Biggest issue is their jukebox. They have banned everything explicit and if anything is played that any owner doesn't want to listen to they either skip it or turn the jukebox off. Which in turn means us customers lose our money. I understand some people don't like other choice in music but that shouldn't mean it gets completely turned off and those who paid lose out. Saw that reviews raved about food, so we stopped in for lunch. Service was fine (poor from other reviews, but the girl waiting on us was friendly). She didn't stop by too often after getting our food order, but we ordered non-alcoholic drinks so it wasn't too bad. Turn around time was OVER 30 minutes from taking order to us receiving food- that's really terrible, especially considering the booths were not too comfortable and they were not busy during the Sunday lunch time. I got the "Tom tom" turkey burger ($12, plus another $1 for a pretzel bun..another upcharge for some cheese..) and husband had the "Stout" one..the waitress mentioned that all burgers are cooked to medium unless otherwise specified; seeing as I ordered turkey, that would technically mean still bloody (unsafe), so I just told her to cook it to safe temperatures for consumption (lol). Overall, burgers were tasty. Mine was a little bit salty, but had some great complimenting flavors. Husband ordered the truffle-parmesan fries..they brought out normal fries, then quickly switched them out.. We expected actual shredded/grated cheese but they had the sprinkled kind you'd cheeply get from a Kraft can (and it didn't really enhance the taste). Overall check = $29 and change, for just 2 burgers and fries. Cheese upgrade of $2 needs to be actual grated cheese. Another table behind us had an order mistake as well. Turn around tables WITHIN 13 minutes would be great. They advertise banquets..but I'd never trust it based on this experience. (Maybe in the future...) I would wait until they work the kinks out of this place to return...and see they've made some changes to the negatives parts of our review. read more

I've always heard that Cooms Corner has amazing food but I never tried it until now and boy am I sorry! I really been missing out! I'm actually sitting here at my table with my giant delicious Cooms Call burger writing this review. It was cooked just the way I asked. The fries are amazing too! Our server Nicole has been absolutely excellent! She greeted us right away with a big smile, and she had plenty of recommendations to make for their menu. I asked for fresh lemon with my lemonade, and she said no problem at all. Her sweet personality has made this experience here over the top. Have tried Cooms a few times and have found it's an ok choice. The menu is limited. Nachos are a good choice for an appetizer. Burgers are good but I feel a bit pricey. Pizza is ok. We moved to Lockport 4 months ago and were told this establishment is a main staple in the town. Not thrilled. This last time we were one of 4 tables inside and our order was not correct. So me and my family drove almost an hour to check out Ron Coomer's place because we are fans. When we first checked in with the hostess I asked to be seated in view of one of the larger TVs that would be playing the Cubs game. We were brought to a booth against a wall right under one, with 0 visibility. So we asked to move to a table that wasn't so close to the wall in order to be able to watch the Cubs game. We get seated and handed sticky menus. We ordered drinks (a coke and water both of which tasted off). The waitress seemed hurried and wanting us to order ASAP even though the place wasn't crowded or overly busy. We ordered some starters (wings and fried pickles) and I ordered a beer (side note the soda and water were served to us in beer glasses while the beer wasn't, just an odd side note). The TV wasn't set to the game yet and was about to start so I once again asked for it to be changed, the waitress said "oh yeah of course" and the TVs out of my range of view were changed to the game while the TV we sat by was set to 60 minutes. The starters were okay, regular bar quality but nothing special. We left before finishing anything we had ordered and still not being able to watch the Cubs game. This is the second time I've been here and again I was let down. The burger I ordered came out hardly cooked and cold in the middle. The pizza my friend ordered was burned on the bottom, and the patty melt another ordered was no better then raw meat. I was willing to give this place another try after the flop it delivered opening night, but unfortunately my opinion was not changed. I am a fan of Ron Coomer so I took my two kids to Coom's Corner on Sunday afternoon. The bar and restaurant were not too busy so we sat at the bar. Service was slow but we were finally able to place a drink order. (Bartender tended to the regulars at the bar and someone who came in after us before asking us for our order.) The bartender took my son's order, then mine then my daughter's. The bartender then asked my daughter for her ID. I was stunned as my daughter is three years older than my son.) When the bartender brought us our drinks, I shared that I thought it was kind of funny that she did not card my son but carded my daughter who is three years older. The bartender was not amused. This used to be our go to place. It's very near our tennis club, and we would come often after matches. The pizza was so good. Thin and crispy. Now the pizza is soggy, and the service sucks. Ok! So let me start off by saying I know its a new place and you need time to work out the kinks. But honestly they have the everyday operations pretty well down. The re-model is nice. Staff was very friendly. And the wait time for food wasn't to bad 25-30 minutes for a friday night. But the food! Ughhh! Not that good. My wife and I both had the cream of mushroom soup first. Creamy? Not so much. Very watery and not 1 mushroom in either of our bowls. It almost seemed like they used a mushroom seasoning packet to obtain the mushroom flavor. Then came what I would say was a 4oz grilled chicken sandwich I ordered. They hammered the breast down to an 1/8 of an inch. It was dry like jerky. Mind you this sandwich is 12 dollars!!! Their fries that they say have oil, garlic and parmesan were terrible. Could not taste anything. I think the parmesan cheese is some sprinkled crap from a can like craft.. It's not fresh parm. My wifes burger was cooked right. Med/rare. Had decent flavor. Nothing to write home about. We both drank water with lemons. Our bill was $40. Really? Good Luck Coomer! Nothing good to remember about this place. Went during a weekday (3 of us) about 1 PM in the first week of May so it had been open already for well over a month, yet the minimal staff seemed in disarray. We were told to sit anywhere we wanted and headed towards a table by the front window. When we got there we noticed that the table was only half bussed but we sat down anyway. Staff came over about 5 minutes later and finished bussing the table and asked what we wanted to drink. Since we'd never been given a drink or food menu and there were neither on the table we asked to look at those first before placing our order. The beer menu is minuscule to say the least. which normally wouldn't matter but over the last few years most people have come to expect a few dozen micro/local brews on the menu but they had just the usual popular choices. Sort of boring. We ordered a burger (was never asked how it should be cooked - arrived well done) a chicken sandwich and a big salad. Let's say this chicken sandwich will NOT make you forget the chicken at Chic fila, or even most chicken sandwiches at any fast food restaurant. So for one appetizer (hot pretzels, maybe the highlight of the meal) three basic entrees and three beers the tab came to just under $70! I have zero problem paying $70 for a good meal, or even $70 for a meal in a top restaurant in Oakbrook or downtown Chicago, but NOT in a start up sports bar in Lockport that offers nothing memorable as far as food, drink, service or ambiance are concerned. I've eaten here when it was Adam's Pub and Iron Horse and this may be the worst tenant so far. Hopefully they'll make some changes, and fast, otherwise this place will be gone before the end of the year. read more

Had a graduation party for my daughter here in the private room, couldn't have asked for a better place to have it at. The food was FABULOUS, the room was perfect (the fact that you don't have to walk thru the bar/restaurant to get to the private room is what sold me), the whole staff was more then friendly, the total cost for the party was so reasonable.
