All around good service, food and beer selection. Solid "sports bar" atmosphere with plenty of room for dining.

We were pleasantly surprised to find out apps were 25% off- which meant we had to try the pretzel. I think it may have been the biggest pretzel I've ever seen in my life. The outside was a melt-in-your-mouth fried texture with the inside being soft and doughy in the best way. Paired with any of the 3 dips, it made for the most delicious appetizer that essentially filled up our entire table itself. Special shoutout to the arse sauce & their honey mustard- sooo good. The table also tried the buffalo chicken wrap (YUM), caprese sandwich (good!), and penne alla vodka (somewhat mid but better as leftovers). Sweet potato tots were the perfect side. This was my third time here and they honestly never disappoint. Service & food always hit. My go to spot when visiting Plainfield!

Luckily, this visit was much better We arrived right after they opened on Saturday afternoon. The location was easy to find and there was a decent amount of parking. For lunch, we shared the 1.5lb pretzel which was more than enough for our group of 5 1/2 people. As for my burger, I got their Blue Cheeseburger. Overall, it was a decent burger. Good flavor, cooked a nice medium rare which I wanted. Our waitress was nice and friendly and the price was reasonable for 2 adults and 1 kid

I was even more excited after finding out it had been nominated for one of the best burgers in Naperville, I'm always up for a great burger. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Naperville. Parking can be challenging, but we visited on a weekday between 2 and 3 p.m., so we were able to find a spot without much trouble. When we walked in, we seated ourselves since there wasn't a hostess. Although the restaurant looks small from the outside, the layout is well designed, so it never felt cramped. Our server was friendly, attentive, and impressively efficient. She was handling both serving and bartending duties with only one food runner helping, yet she still provided excellent customer service. One thing I really appreciated was the ability to customize your burger by choosing your preferred protein and bun. My wife ordered the Cowboy Burger. It was good, but I definitely enjoyed my burger more. I went with the Diablo Burger, and it did not disappoint. The 1/2 pound beef patty was cooked perfectly juicy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. The roasted jalapeños and sriracha sauce added just the right amount of heat, while the bacon and fried egg brought even more richness and texture. The toasted pretzel bun held everything together beautifully. Taking that first bite and watching the creamy egg yolk run down the burger made every bite even more satisfying. My wife and I left very happy with our meal. Whenever we're back in the Naperville area, we've already agreed that this place will definitely be on our list to visit again.

For drinks, I tried the lychee mojito -- it was strong but had really good flavor and was enjoyable. For an appetizer, we got the pretzels. They had a nice garlic seasoning on them and were pretty filling. These were good. For mains, we ordered the Hangover Burger, tenders, and the Bulleit Bourbon Burger. Everything was really delicious. My fries just needed a tad bit of salt, but the burger itself was cooked well (I asked for medium). The flavors were good, and the honey running down actually worked well with everything. Our waiter was also really good and provided solid service. Overall, a great experience -- will be back.

We went for a date night and it was honestly such an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. It is lively and has a great energy, but it is not overwhelming or too crazy, which makes it perfect for a date night. You can actually talk, relax, and enjoy your time together, which is exactly what we were looking for. We ordered a mix of things and everything was so good. The BBQ platter with ribs, pulled chicken, mac and cheese, fries, and toast was packed with flavor and perfect for sharing. The chicken dish with mashed potatoes and greens was also amazing and really well done. We also got dessert and it was the perfect sweet ending to the night. The service was great the entire time. Our server was especially attentive and funny, which made the experience even better and added such a fun, personal touch to the night. Overall this is such a great spot and definitely one we will keep coming back to. If you are looking for a place that has a fun atmosphere but still feels comfortable for a date night, I would absolutely recommend checking this place out.

Eventually, someone from behind the bar directed us to seat ourselves. The restaurant was about half full, yet only one server was covering all tables, supported by a manager running food and a busser. The limited staffing noticeably extended our overall dining time. Given that it was a Sunday at a sports bar, additional service support would have been expected. I ordered a margarita, which was served in a 16 oz glass. Unfortunately, it was overwhelmingly sour, tasting primarily of sour mix, and I chose to send it back. It was disappointing, as properly balanced cocktails are an important part of the dining experience. The food was decent but unremarkable. The elite dip was enjoyable; however, the portion size did not feel consistent with the price. Overall, while the experience was not terrible, it did not stand out enough for me to go out of my way to return.

After driving past this sports bar on Route 59 many times over the years, I finally came here with my wife for a quick dinner date. The venue itself is cool and the building has some funky features to it, like a castle turret on the outside façade. Inside, it's nice and spacious. Almost TOO spacious. Their $5 draft-of-the-month was a Goose Island pocket pilsner. My wife got a few pints of Bells Oberon (which is in season now!) for $7.50/ea. It wasn't very busy so our server was able to bring out two more rounds in a timely manner, however they never gave us water. Spartan cheese bricks (5 for $15) are much larger than your standard mozza stick. Squares of 1/2" thick mozzarella are deep fried in a tempura-like batter and served with marinara; we loved this variation on a classic bar bite. The Greek-style chicken skewers ($15) were tasty, they came with tzadziki and pita wedges. As much as we enjoyed the fried pickles ($12), the cayenne ranch dipping sauce was overpowering. Whoever made that batch did so with a very heavy hand on the seasoning, and after one bite I looked at my wife to say "uhhh honey FYI, they went way too hard on the cayenne". One brief coughing fit later, she agreed. Bread = 4 Circuses = 4 There's your typical array of large TV's showing all manner of sports, and I appreciated them flying collegiate flags representing the original Big Ten lineup (none of this Rutgers or UCLA crap). I can definitely see myself coming back to watch Boilermaker basketball or one of Purdue's early season football games on their outdoor patio. * TL;DR * Naperville may have over 260 places to dine at, but Spartan Ale House is worth checking out. The daily drink specials are great, so even if $6 Moscow Mule Mondays aren't your bag, there's $4 pint Tuesdays and $5 bloody mary's on the weekend (plus $3 domestic bottles Sat-Sun). The food we tried was better than average and I'm looking forward to getting a burger next visit. Cool place, definitely recommended.
