Hi I went to get a couple of drinks with my wife and was given a below par service and was given overpriced drinks. The bartender was rude and she gave unwelcoming and rude service 2 beers and 2 shots about $70. As I write this review, it's been about one year to the day when the old Jackie's Pub burned down to the ground, thereby leaving Lockport void of one of the better watering holes in town. Jackie and her bartenders have always been some of the friendliest people I've ever encountered across the bar, and speaking for myself, it's a real pleasure having them back. The new building is brighter and more spacious than ever before, leaving plenty of room for an influx of new patrons who may have felt a little uncomfortable in her old place if they weren't a part of the regular crowd. They're running specials for every night of the week and if you're a fan of Bloody Mary's, Sunday's your day to visit. But if you're there to catch the game like I usually am, you'll find you get a front row seat to the action no matter where you're sitting. Widescreen TVs are lined up side to side almost the whole way down the bar, not to mention a few on the opposite side and in the corners, too. And if they don't have the particular game you're interested in on at the time, just ask. They'll be more than happy to find it for you. So if you're in the Lockport area and get a little thirsty, stop in at Jackie's Pub on the East side of State St, just south of 10th. And if you're driving, park in the back. As far as the Lockport bar scene goes Jackie's is now one of the better watering holes. It's not the biggest bar on the strip, but to be fair none of the state street bars can handle a big crowd inside. It is a good time though. The staff is friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. I have not had a bad time here. It's a good afternoon drink place and gets lively enough on the weekends to be fun without getting too douchey. Ok first I'd like to say that this is by far one of the best bars I'll ever step foot in. there are no crabby bartenders or ugly patrons. The only reason I can see that anyone would say anything negative about this place is maybe that certain customer is an asstard and did something that rendered him kicked out from the bar. (which by the way ...was exactly what happened because apparently some people can't hold their liquor and become ugly loud mouth bar patrons) As for suspected drug trade...pffft. We are happy just to be there with good times and good people, the only thing we are high off of is life. Everyone at Jackies welcomes you at the door with a smile and a how-do-you-do. But just like any other respectful business, they do reserve the right to serve anyone as they see fit. Please don't take the advice of a bitter man who's wife left him for a man she met in Jackies....blame her, the man or hell, yourself.... Don't normally leave reviews, especially bad ones. But I've been a long time customer. So on Friday may 31st there was an altercation between two gentlemen. Both were told to "get the fuck out". But only one actually did. The victim. The instigator was "Danny" who I personally watched push another guy to the floor first. Several customers said "oh, he's cool" "fuck anyone who's not on his side". And not only was he allowed to stay, from my point of view he wasn't cut off either. And the cops were called on top of it. But for what? The victim left and the other guy was still there... This is my bar, my girls. But this is unacceptable. I would never let someone stay at my bar for doing this. And if "Danny" is a regular, he should know not to act like this at "his" place. No matter what was said to him. I would never disrespect "my" bar like that. read more

The quintessential dive bar. I went to meet a group of friends and I was the first one to get there. i came off looking like a fool when I ordered a shot and a beer and laid my Visa down on the bar. CASH ONLY. The bartender advised there was an ATM at the end of the bar, but it was out of order. It wasn't broke, it had just run out of cash. Love this bar but never come here if u want to watch a game (hockey, baseball football etc...). You will have to deal a jukebox blasting and no chance of talking to the person next to you. This man has pulled his wife out of the bar by her hair and he was band from the bar. Best time to go is for Hawks / Cubs games. Great place to meet a couple friends and hang out wehre you can still hold a conversation (except when Hawks score) Jackie and Lorna are great. Haven't got to know everyone yet. They let you bring your own food in. read more
