I needed a break from the routine of life and Hog Wild came to mind. This is a place that you can have a delicious pork chop, burger or Rib Eye steak and not break the bank. I also love that they have an expansive bar that offers some great cocktails, and an outstanding Bloody Mary. It was a Saturday night around seven. They were sold out of the ribeye so my better half opted for the New York strip it was pretty good. It's a casual setting, you order your food at the register and they bring it out to you. They have a huge fireplace in the dining area so we sat next to the fireplace, relaxed and enjoyed the atmosphere. I've been here a time or two and my favorite on the menu is the rib eye and the pork chop. I ordered the pork chop it's huge, juicy and it has a great grilled char. Sides were oven browns, Cole slaw and baked beans. The ribs were meaty and tender as well as delicious. The slaw was too small of a portion but good. The oven browns were like seasoned fries and OK. The baked beans were a large portion and delicious. The ribs had a tasty sauce but not enough on it. That part was disappointing as we spent a lot of money. So i was looking for some BBQ. This place is near my work. There suppose to be famous for their porkchop. It's good but not great imo. The sides are above average imo. The potatoes are good, the green beans are good, the coleslaw is good. I also tried the Bone-In Ribeye. Got it medium. Good char solid flavor, but overall just OK. The staff was nice, and the wait time was minimum on both occasions I went. I appointment recommend going here. I haven't tried there actual BBQ yet so there's more to review later. Was really excited to go here, had all the thoughts of what used to be a great place in midlothian. Unfortunately when they closed the doors on that location they closed the door on pretty decent bbq too. The brisket was dry, tough and fatty. Prices are high and quality of food was low. A brisket dinner is $25- just some cut brisket that's not even tender enough to cut with a fork. Browned potatoes were decent, the coleslaw being an actual side for how small it was, was disappointing. Garlic bread, where was the garlic? Service was ok, nothing like it used to be. They put too much attention into their bar area and have forgotten what their roots are and what put them on the map. Well, it is a different place. That gives you pretty good food for the price. But it could be a little more consistent at times. We've been there. It seemed the cooking techniques could be more consistent. But. Like every other Restaurant consistency is the key Service was OK since you have to serve yourself majority of the time. The ambience of the place was OK. Could be better. Seems like a giant room with a couple of tables in it and you get some service from the staff. The clients is OK could be better. pork chop seems to be their signature dish, however. The portions you get for the sides could be a little more consistent in all. It is a good place to visit for the first time. I feel it's not a bad price for the meal, but I don't know if I would put it on a list every week but at least once a month. read more

Disappointing to say the least. For being named Hog Wild, there is no decoration resemblance of a hog. Deer antlers, an Elvis statue but no porky pig or Boss Hog. My wife got the pork chop and I the walleye. The pork chop was over cooked and the walleye had a lot of bones. My wife wanted dessert with coffee, but they didn't have coffee. It came as a full chicken breast on a pita. On the menu they have an item listed as chicken breast on a pita and a separate entree called chicken gyro. I asked the waitress and she said depends what cook you get sometimes the slice it thin but it's the same meat. My experience with chicken gyros is a shaved meat. Not a cut up chicken breast. They were room temperature; not a hint of hotness, or even warmth, at all. It seemed quite evident that they were pre-made and sitting to wait for people to order during lunch rush. Make a roux, add cream and milk, stir until thickened, then some real shredded cheese, top with crushed crackers and butter, bake until the topping is lightly browned. It's not hard. Ordered fried pickles and received a soggy container of pickles with hardly any breading on them. Ordered a corned beef sandwich with everything on it. The menu list, mozzarella cheese, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing. I received a sandwich plain. I already went back once to try to fix the fried pickle issue. Food was every bit as good as the old location in Midlothian. I've only been to the New Lenox location twice, but both times had the rib tips and they were tender and perfect. I thought there would be more hiccups because it was new, but only one was they were out of one side and substituted with another. I was pleased at how spacious it is. Why not 5 stars? Well, it's just not a 5 star flavor profile. While it's certainly very good, I reserve 5 stars for "best I've had, hard to duplicate" experiences. Hog Wild is great, and a welcome addition since the recent closing of Bourbon's Smoke House in New Lenox, which also had great bbq. I notice a lot of low ratings and I'm glad I haven't had those experiences yet. If I do, I will be sure to update my review. read more

We ordered a slab and half of ribs with sides. The ribs were very dry and rough. If that wasn't enough we called and spoke with a manager "Andy" who said he had to look at the camera of the food coming out of the kitchen before he could comment on the problem of the food. He took our name and number but never called back. Next day we called back and asked why we never got a call back and why viewing of the video footage of a complaint of food was necessary. The female manager said there was no record of our call and had no answer about the footage. We again left our information. She stated she would pass the message along to "Andy" who would call us back. It's been three days, guess we won't get that call back. The ribs were extremely dry and over cooked with no extra sauce to help that. We paid over 54 bucks and due to their lack of response will not be back. Save your money and skip Hog Wild! read more
