In summary, I rented a cement mixer from another company and they broke my trailer wiring plug. They replaced it, but with the wrong plug (male vs. female). When I went to U-Haul Blaine to pick up my trailer yesterday, it could not be connected due to the wrong plug, Will, the general manager arranged for Brandon, the wiring and hook-up tech, to replace the plug with the correct plug so I could continue with my rental. In short, U-haul did not create the problem but they solved it, and never asked for a dime for the materials or labor. You don't find this type of service anymore and I can't express how thankful I am for U-haul helping me out so I could go about my day. Standing ovation for Will and Team at Blaine U-Haul!! I'm a customer for life!!

The amount of issues I had was unreal. First, I paid for 6 furniture pads which they forget about…read morebut still charged me for. Second, you cannot park your car in their lot so you have to park at a local business and according to them 'They probably won't tow you for parking there'. On top of this there is no sidewalk to get there so after you park down the street you have to walk on the side of the very busy Silver Lake Road. In the winter the grass is covered in snow, possibly too deep to walk through, so you have to walk on the busy road while checking over your shoulder to make sure you aren't in danger. Lastly, I was told I could drop off the truck after hours for no additional fee as long as I put the keys in the drop box. Turns out you need to use their app to mark that you have returned the truck. I was not informed of this and was charged an extra $20 'Convenience Fee'. Travis B. was the one who checked me out so be careful if he is the one working if you are going in to rent a truck.

I have a love-hate relationship with this U-Haul and with U-Haul in general…read more 1) I like buying weird shaped boxes and packing supplies here for shipping my Ebay stuff. They're pretty expensive. But they aren't as expensive as The UPS Store. I can get all of these things cheaper on-line at U-Line but I'd have to order big quantities. So I go to U-Haul for weird boxes like "plant" boxes, "golf club" boxes, and "flat screen TV" boxes. On the other hand... When they run out of something, they're in no big hurry to re-order. And many times, they seem completely oblivious that they're out of something. And it takes weeks to replenish. 2) I like the trailer rentals. I think the rates are very reasonable and I've rented many times. On the other hand... I'm irritated that they have no one-way trailer rentals. You have to return it back to the original location. Bummer. 3) The vehicle rentals are super expensive and I wouldn't rent one under any circumstances unless I was really, really desperate. The day rate (in BIG letters) seems fair but the mileage rate (in small letters) makes renting very expensive. I always drive all the way to Columbia Heights Rental if I have to rent a big truck with no mileage fees. Lord help you if you need to rent a truck and drive across the United States! 4) I like all of the front line staff. They always seem really cool and to know their jobs well. On the other hand... The manager never smiles, always has a scowl, and he looks like he's gonna bust someone in the nose at any minute. I'm not sure what this is all about. Maybe that's why all of the staff always seem so quiet and reserved! Maybe they're scared of him. I actually got him to bust a smile the last time I saw him though. :-) 5) Finally, I think the storage rental thing is pretty good. He pulled up the recording of the call, which took almost 30 minutes extra of our time to prove us wrong, but it proved us right. He did extended it to the end of their business hours (an extra 6 hours), but it was still short and a pain for us to rush the move. Overall his staff was decent to us, but he was very rude and crass to my older father, and I, who had done everything right. Would highly recommend avoiding them if you can.

I don't rent very often and when I do it is usually a truck for moving. I was in between…read moreapartments and had to rent a truck twice, once to move from apartment to storage and another time to move from storage to apartment...You get the idea. My first experience here was really easy, the truck was $39.99 + Tax and suited all my needs. There was some confusion over my method of payment, they authorize a card for $250 for deposit then you get charged after the rental is returned for whatever the cost is plus mileage, gas, etc. The $250 then gets put back on your card, well in my case they accidentally charged my card, luckily they were able to refund it and there was really no harm done. My second experience was just as easy, I asked for the same thing I had a month ago and there was no questions asked. Once I payed I notice the rate is suddenly $49.99 + Tax. There is no price listing I can find on the web site and when I asked about the change I was told they just moved their rates on the 1st of the month. Seemed a little fishy to me especially since it was May 1st and I was specific in asking for the same thing I just had less than 30 days ago. I would think at the time i was filling out paper work before actually renting the truck someone would have mentioned, "Hey, by the way our rates changed starting this month and it is different from your last rental". I didn't really feel valued as a customer who came back twice in a month to rent equipment and was a little upset I wasn't informed about the change in price. I guess I will stick to my normal process for renting when I need to...Cheapest Option Wins.

The boxes were clean, easy to pack and easy to stack. We still used movers for labor to complete the move, but they commented how easy it was to move the green boxes, which surely saved us labor charges. I loved not having to setup paper boxes, hassle with tape guns, etc. and it made unpacking easier because the boxes nest together into a nice stack. That makes unpacking easier because as you empty a box it is out of the way - no need to flatten all of those cardboard boxes. My socially conscious middle schooler was also happy to do something environmentally friendly. :)

Michael also makes things extremely convenient by dropping them off and picking them up whenever is convenient for you. You don't have to deal with extra cardboard and tape everywhere as you are unpacking. Just one less thing you have to deal with. Would highly recommend.
