This restaurant is closed and has been for some time. It is now strictly a deer processing place seasonally

You don't go through New Hebron to get to anywhere but people come from all over to eat here. They have a huge menu that includes many items you won't find at other establishments. What do you order here? Well, the burger of course is a solid first choice! Absolutely the best burgers. Try the double bacon cheeseburger if you want to hurt yourself. Other crowd favorites includes the hamburger steak basket, the pitas, mini burgers, salads, shakes and popcorn chicken. They also offer a daily special that will include a sandwich, fries and drink for $9-$10. They only take cash, cards are not accepted, but do have an ATM on site. Don't miss a visit to Hamburger House in New Hebron, MS!

Even tried the hamburger steak on fries with gravy, fell in love. Fast forward to Feb 2025 the burger seemed tight and dry, the sweet tea large look like a medium, ok so we all have a bad day. Tried it again few weeks later, no better. Decided not to try again. Well, grandkids visiting, they are use to DoorDash /UberEats, no such luck here for that, so I went against my better judgement and ordered. The worst meals you could imagine, burgers so small the buns are too large for and they are dry, they slather so much mayo you can't distinguish between the food or the wrapper. Guess trying to camouflage the flavorless burger. The grilled chicken sandwich was the same so much mayo that it made the bun inedible. Don't get me started on the half order of fries they all came with or the fish sandwich that was fried so hard that it crumbled. I threw the whole $55 worth of food in trash. Always follow your first mind. And if this is where you thinking of eating, please don't. This is so sad because I loved this place.

Unfortunately, each item had an issue. The field peas were so mushy that they practically turned into a purée when I tried to eat them with a fork. The greens were the complete opposite--they were extremely tough, and I found myself chewing them for several minutes. The flavor was also unusual and difficult to identify. The fried chicken was seasoned, but the seasoning seemed to be mostly on the skin. The meat itself was bland, and the chicken had a burnt taste while the skin was still undercooked. The cornbread muffin was probably the biggest disappointment. It was extremely hard, to the point that I was concerned about breaking a tooth. The picture really speaks for itself. I understand that an occasional meal may not turn out perfectly, so I'm willing to give this business another try. I sincerely hope this was just an off day and not representative of the quality they normally serve. I believe in supporting local businesses, but customers should also be able to expect good-quality food and consistency. Hopefully, my next experience will be much better.
