This…read morelocation struggles to keep employees and is not afraid to share it, this seems to be their go-to for the reason things are so terrible. It started when I took me vehicle in for the insurance estimate (trip #1 to the shop), the adjuster was adamant that I scheduled when to bring it back as they were already scheduling out so far. I was hesitant due to our extra vehicle having an issue but I scheduled anyway, he said if anything changes to let them know. I took my vehicle on the scheduled day March 25, 2026,(trip #2) go in to drop it off and they do not have me on the books and never ordered the parts. Schedule again to drop it off for April 3, 2026,(trip #3) this time I was able to successfully drop off my vehicle. They call me April 22, 2026(trip #4) and tell me my vehicle is ready for pick-up, I work in Battle Creek, so I hurried home at the end of the day grab my husband and head over to get it. It was about 15 minutes before they closed, I had not really been home and just wanted to get there so I didnt look it over (I have also NEVER had an issue with any of the other repairs I have had done elsewhere). When I got home I actually looked at it, it was terrible work. There were parts ripped and just sat back in, things that should have been repaired weren't, gaps with over a 1/4" difference from side to side (I measured them) and gaps that were just entirely too large. I called the next day and took it back (trip #5). I was told there is no longer a manager at that location and dealt with the "acting manager". He looked it all over, took into the back to make some of the gaps better and tried to get us to "meet him in the middle" on some of the issue. He then said he would get everything ordered and call us the following day. After a month of not hearing anything I called then again, was informed I would have to bring my vehicle in AGAIN for the issues to be looked at as that person was also no longer employed and there was a new manager. Finally, I was able to take me vehicle in again on June 19,2026 (trip#6) yet the manager was not there. I informed the employee that I would not be leaving without a list of the repairs as I would not be doing this step a 3rd time. He was utterly dumbfounded as to what I was asking for! The manager called me the following Monday June 22, 2026 to discuss the issues with me and told me he would be ordering the parts and would call me "tomorrow". I called again July 16, 2026 as I still had not heard anything. As I sit here almost 3 months now from when I initially picked up my vehicle (just short of 5 months from my accident) my vehicle is still not repaired correctly and I do not have a timeline as to when that will occur, I do know I will still have a minimum of 2 more trips to this shop for this one repair!

So I wanted to have it looked at make sure it was done right & figure out why/how it was damaged. Apparently Valvoline must have dropped it. The damage wasn't caused by the car or road. My car needed a total transmission flush.. they did it in a timely manner & things are working good. The reason I went to them was in the spring I had some issues & come to find out there was a recall for it. When I had called Spartan Toyota (before going tho University Foreign Car Repair) they wanted over $200 to "diagnose". Interesting there's a recall & the dealership wants $ to diagnose a recall. The folks at University told me about it & printed out the recall info thus Spartan repaired it without the diagnostic fee. Who does that? Tells you there's a recall & take it to the dealership & get it fixed free. When I came in this time for these other things (granny flush etc) they told me they had a bad review. Now that I found surprising. These folks have been in business many years & always had a stellar reputation. But I didn't use them until recently. I was very confused by them 1st telling me about the bad review. So I read it. That post after reading it seemed like somethings missing. Maybe it was someone else's card, maybe she had a previous experience that went away? But something in it seems like there's more to it. These people at University knocked hundreds off what they originally quoted me. Even during the quote and drop off. When I came back, it was even less than quoted. The work was great. I had no problem with payment with my card. They were jovial gentleman, and truly seemed like they not only cared about my car, but my budget & me as a person. Some people are just never happy unless it's free & even then....they'd probably complain ​​

On 11/23/21 I called my insurance company to find a new provider since my truck had not moved from the spot it was left in on the 8th and I was going to pick it up. The insurance company called Priority and suddenly, my truck was moved. I was told it would be two weeks. I called 12/7. No update and no call back. Called 12/14 and was told it's a big job and it takes time (person who answered the phone had quite the attitude) Called 12/21, was told maybe next week. Drove by on 12/29 and saw my trick sitting in their lot. Stopped in and found out it was finished and ready. Took it home and discovered the radio wasn't reconnected properly and had to take it back. Then, just this week on 1/8 found my rear tire on the repair side of my truck was loose, prompting a call for roadside assistance. They NEVER called me. It took almost 3 months for them to complete the repair although, admittedly, they didn't start 6 or 7 weeks. The work looks good but there is no way I would ever recommend this business to anyone. No communication. No service. If it's possible to give no stars, please make the change for me.

I did end up just getting everything repaired as I knew some of them were going to be needing to be done soon anyway. Staff was friendly and I really liked the photos that are included in your estimates showing work progress and areas of concern.

I paid the $800 dollars and had to take my car back to them because it was STILL leaking. So they were wrong. I told them the leak was still happening and instead of fixing it they put some liquid that can only be seen with a blue light held to it wherever it was leaking from and told me for the second time that they fixed it. Again.... They were wrong. I would not recommend this shop, they will scam you and lie to you. Please for the sake of your wallet take your car elsewhere.
