Years ago, when I had different cats with different dietary needs and preferences, this Petland had their preferred types of wet foods in stock. However, during my most recent visit, I did not see my current cat's preferred types of foods on the shelves. I did see a decent selection of beds, collars, leashes, jackets, toys, dog foods, aquarium supplies, some cat trees, hygiene products, bowls, and some cat litters. The prices, though, were higher than what online retailers charge. This store had a few dogs and cats up for adoption through their Animal Shelter Adoption Program (ASAP). It also had some birds, fish, a guinea pig, etcetera. Furthermore, their website says that they offer dog grooming.

I felt happy that her preferred flavors were in stock and that the prices were typical. However, her dry food cost more here than from Chewy and Amazon. Furthermore, I did not see my cat's preferred toys and furniture, and I thought that the prices for litter were a bit high. I walked around the other sections of the store. My husband commented that a bird cage had many birds in it, but the birds looked healthy otherwise. The cashier immediately and accurately rang up my purchase and thanked me. At home, my cat enjoys eating her wet foods. This store also offers grooming, training, veterinary services, and an adoption center, but I did not use them.

Brett Reynolds is the trainer and I would recommend him to anyone that wants to modify their dog's behavior! We adopted a Min-Pin Terrier mix puppy at about 7 months old. He was social at the dog park and was very friendly with people whether at our house or elsewhere. Around 10 months, we began seeing some different behaviors in our little pup, especially when on leash around other dogs or when there was a fence between him and other dogs or people. It got to the point where we were no longer comfortable taking him out as regularly and stopped going to the dog park. We have since learned that our little baby suffers from something called "barrier aggression." I explained the situation to Brett through a phone conversation and a few follow-up emails. When we arrived for our session, we talked through specifically what we wanted to work on and then got started. I learned so much in an hour! It was not only helpful in modifying my dog's behavior, but also in giving us the confidence in training him properly. We purchased a Gentle-Leader collar which has worked great for us. We also learned certain commands to direct and distract him around other dogs, which avoids him escalating into a blind rage where it is very difficult to calm him down. At the end of the session, Brett brought another dog into the room and we were able to try out the new commands while we still had him there to give us feedback. We have continued everything we've learned in the two sessions during our time at home and have noticed a significant change in our dog's behavior. He's not perfect by any means, but seeing the progress he's made is motivation for us to remain consistent and follow-through with everything we learned from Brett. I look forward to more training sessions and possibly trying an agility class in the future!

My dog has come here for her regular vaccines, the vaccine clinics, her annuals, and when she's not feeling well. I've had a few administrative issues with email/contact information so that could use a little work. Otherwise, I love coming here. I can't say the same for my dog, because every time she comes she has to step on a scary scale and/or get poked. But this is to be expected!
