Nashville hot chicken burger with side of Mac and cheese
    Minji K.

After stopping by the Abraham Lincoln House and library, we came across this microbrewery and had to go in! They also have a cidery, but it wasn't open during this season. Thankfully we still were able to get one cider, and they had a selection of other beers. The cider was tart and refreshing, and I really like the berry mocktail, which had ginger beer, and a mix of berries in it. As for food, the Nashville hot chicken sandwich came with a lot of heat which was great. I got the dry rub version, which is spicer than the saucy version. The horseshoe sandwich is a local favorite, which is an open faced sandwich with sliced bread topped with meat (we got the angus beef), fries, and cheese sauce. It was quite heavy and creamy because of all the sauce. Overall we enjoyed our meal and our server was very friendly, although service was on the slower side.

Visiting town on road trip. We walked here from hotel. Neat place filled with locals. The ciders are definitely good and the coffee beer was pretty good. My fish and chips is as usual as expected, nothing compares to the real one from England. It was good fries are good. Wife order shrimp poboy which was a bit po in the shrimp. Could use more shrimp for the price. Service was good. Great local spot.

Stopped in while "on the job" I had a margarita flatbread and a Diet Coke Flatbread was very tasty , beverage was good Sat at the bar taken care of by Taylor very pleasant. Place is old school and employees are welcoming. Only beef I have is the non sense service charge of 3% for using a credit card. We all know this was started to help businesses survive covid. Well Covid is over and so should the service fee Other than that all good Thanks guys

    Cup of Beer Cheese Soup

We were at the Lincoln Presidential Museum and were getting hungry, so we walked down to Obed and Isaac's. We were seated right away, and the place is a bit quirky but cool. We ordered a local beer and a glass of wine. After reading the menu, we ordered 2 cups of soup. Mr. Bee had the chili and said it was seasoned well and he enjoyed it. I had the beer cheese soup which was also very good. We ordered the Vegetarian Horseshoe Sandwich to share, seems like a local favorite, but we hadn't heard of it. So after we placed our lunch order I googled a Horseshoe Sandwich and learned it is a regional favorite. The sandwich is open-faced. It starts with a thick piece of toasted bread topped with a hamburger patty, or ham or in our case a veggie burger, topped with a rich cheese sauce and French fries. The sandwich evidently originated at the Old Leland Hotel in town in 1928. After learning that I am really glad we decided to give it a try. Boy we were shocked when our sandwich finally came out, the service was a bit slow. The sandwich was huge, it was actually two pieces of bread, two veggie patties, lots of cheese sauce and fries. Just beware if your splitting it, you actually get a full sandwich each. It was really good. The cheese sauce was great with the fries and the patty. While the food was really good, and our server was nice. The service was a bit slow, we had to ask twice for our check. If you are in town at the Lincoln museum or exploring downtown, this is a good spot.

While it was a bit of confusion getting seated due to the bartender's trouble with multi-tasking, we were seated after about 20 minutes of wait time near 1:00. The pretzels & cheese sauce were really a nice way to get our meal started. I order the pony shoe, a smaller portion of an open-faced sandwich containing your choice of meat & cheese sauce, over toast. They top it off with very crisp French fries. I liked it & am glad to have tried a Springfield entree. My hubby had salad & chili. He said that both were OK, but the chili was better after he added leftover cheese sauce from our pretzels. Our server was nice, but seemed scattered. It took a while for her to return with our check. We hadn't expected to be there for 1.5 hours. It took a while for our food to come, so maybe they were having trouble with kitchen staff.

The weeds out front are not very pretty

Good food, drinks and atmosphere. Little on the pricey side. Appetizers are all good but the artichoke dip with pita chips is my favorite. Old house is really cool.

The beer garden is fun! Hard to say if you will have a long wait to eat at the restaurant/to get food. There is a small menu in the beer garden. Enjoyed the bacon wrapped dates and Asian chicken wrap. Strawberry blonde beer was good!

My tribe of 5 agreed on 3 starts. The space is nice, they kept a lot of the original house. The food was good, service could have been better. Me tasted 9 beers (2 flights + 1) there were okay.

I was looking for something with beans and originally ordered the breakfast huarache, mistakenly assuming it was a burrito. I prefer flour tortillas over corn, which started a whole conversation about how the dish is prepared. First, our waiter went to the kitchen to check on modifications, then a second waiter kindly came over to explain the traditional preparation, and finally, the chef himself came out to help! He explained that a huarache is open-faced, not a burrito, but immediately offered a perfect solution: he could custom-make their breakfast burrito using pinto beans as the protein for me instead. When the chef brought it out, it was HUGE. He took the time to explain exactly how he made it and told me to just ask for him or request the modification next time. Not only was the service incredibly attentive, but the burrito was easily the best I've ever had. It's 9 hours later and I am still full from eating just half of it! The food is amazing, the restaurant is clean, and it's clear this team truly cares about their customers. We will definitely be back!

Review Visit: September 27th, 2016…read more I have been to many ice cream shacks/burger and let me tell you... This may have been one of the best burgers I have ever had. It easily places Top 5 for me. Maybe even Top 3! I grabbed a simple burger with the usual toppings and it was amazing. They are thin patties a la Steak N Shake, but they taste 100x better. For $2 for a simple burger... you really can do no better. I grabbed a small strawberry ice cream and that was pretty great, too! But why not a perfect 5? Well, the cashier was great at taking the order, but the professionalism of the staff behind the counter was a bit immature. Maybe I am just getting old.... The owner is obviously checked out because the place is a wreck and disgusting. Can't afford even to paint the picnic tables I guess. Food isn't great either and takes forever. Burgers aren't the same anymore and again paying way more than any other location by far and their rent is no way more than other locations like in Forsyth! Btw, Forsyth is the best location for all aspects- clean, food is always good and the staff is amazing! Worst Krekel's out of all of them.

We stopped in on a day's drive from Kansas City to Chicago, due to the quantity and quality of reviews all over the internets, very much including Yelp! We were hungry and in need of some energy for lunch, and Charlie Parker's delivered on both! The place looks like a small military airplane hangar, but don't be fooled: inside is some of the best greasy spoon food you could wish for in the Midwest! The dining room is bright, tight, and fun, decorated to the inch by fun, colorful and humorous memorabilia! We ordered, and were served just a few quick minutes later. Each platter (correct word!) was stuffed with awesome, tasty food! Amongst the four of us, we had some sweet and some savory options, and we all tried each others! We all agreed - the food was delicious! When the bill came and printed at the bottom was a number less than $100, less than $50, I almost lost my mind! We were STUFFED to the gills with awesome diner fare, and our bill was barely $40! How did this happen? I pray this place is somehow eeking out a profit, as I seriously can't remember getting so much awesome food for so little cost in a sit-down restaurant. If it IS making money, then MAJOR kudos to the owner - this business model should be copied throughout the land. Food = 4/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 4/5 Ambiance = 4/5 Value = 6/5
