Stayed here this past weekend and it was a great place to stay. My friend has terminal cancer and is an avid baseball fan who had never been to the Hall of Fame. We decided no time like the present to make this trip happen. Having stayed at KOA campgrounds in the past it's always my first look when trying to travel somewhere. Campground was so beautiful. Nestled next to a corn field which was a beautiful view. Staff was very pleasant and was very helpful. This will definitely be my campground for future trips to Cooperstown. read more

Hospitality is above and beyond. We were welcomed by a staff member who escorted us to our deluxe cabin, pet friendly. He made sure all was working, like the ceiling fans, lights and AC. They think of every detail, and more I didn't even know was important! Like having a little starter kit of coffee necessities next to the Keurig, a basket with soaps and shampoos and wash cloths in the bathroom, plenty TP, a fully stocked kitchen, BBQ tools, trash bags, extra blankets and much more. The beds were comfy. The cabin was immaculate. The landscape is beautiful and well kept. There are dog poop bags and waste baskets everywhere. The dogs loved the huge clean fenced in dog area. Kids loved the arcade, pool and general store. We sent them to buy eggs, treats etc and always felt safe. This KOA is close to so many fun things to do. We will certainly return. read more

This was the second time we went to a KOA, and absolutely loved it! The perfect place to stay if you have kids. This particular KOA was quiet and small, and the owners were so so so friendly and understanding. They also have a super cute dog, Beatrice, who hangs out in the store. The cabin we stayed in was great: clean, linens provided, easy access, Keurig with k-cups waiting for us. The kids slept well in the bunk beds (the top one has a very safe railing), and the room even had a door that could be closed if the kids fell asleep earlier than us. Our site had a charcoal grill and fire pit available for use. Wood cannot be brought into the campground (due to ash borer beetles), but bundles were $6 and they gave us some "magic dust" to put on the fire for free (aka a packet that turned the fire all different colors for the kids). There is a small playground, bouncy house (free!), outdoor games, indoor game room, and planned activities for the kids like arts and crafts and hay rides. This KOA is highly recommended. read more

We will never return... the folks are nice enough but over charge on every item including an extra $10 a night for my husband's car, $5 for six pieces of very small wood, Even if you have the proper DEC paper work to transport firewood, they will charge you $50 fee. The icing on the cake is that they came around and told all campers we can't have an outdoor rug in front of our campers. It is going to rain over the next few days, which will mean we will have to sit in mud. With all the fees, we are paying $300 for four days. The campground was perfect. This isn't a huge KOA but perfect for our first camping trip. The owners were fantastic and friendly. The bathrooms and showers were spotless. Pool was so clean I was amazed. Bounce house and playground was what my daughter loved. We can't wait to come back. read more

Very nice place, especially since it is not next to an interstate like so many KOAs. Lots of nice trees and a dog park too. My only complaint was that there was no heat in the showers, and it got down to 45 degrees at night, meaning they shower rooms were quite cold in the morning. read more

I am horrified, disgusted and deeply disturbed by the rudeness and inhospitality of the owner of KOA Cooperstown NY(or at least one of the owners). We rented a cabin Memorial Day weekend with two young kids. The owner accused us of leaving the cabin a mess because we didn't sweep the cabin and scrub the inside, including the toilet before we left. Not only is cleaning to this extent not the responsibility of the guest, there were no cleaning supplies even available in the cabin. There literally wasn't even a sponge. We did no damage, left no garbage, nothing more than a few bits of this and that which is par for the course in any place where someone stays. Despite zero cleaning supplies provided, we cleaned up the food we saw, we left the freezer and fridge and cabinets and table and counters empty. The beds were stripped. That's what we were asked to do and we happily did it. Upon our arrival we asked about a guest visiting. We were told of a new no-guest policy. Without any argument, or raised voices, we made other arrangements and never broached the topic again. We asked, they said no, that was the end of it. Only to get a nasty email from the owner lecturing us for even asking. If a client asking a question about a rule that has changed since the last stay is so out of line that they feel put on the spot, then may I suggest they are in the wrong business. Two days after our departure we received a nasty email from the owner in which she called into question our intelligence and lashed out at our level of education and professionalism in a personal attack that was absolutely uncalled for. During our stay we followed all social distancing rules, wore masks inside the cabin and outside, didn't interact with any other guests, purposefully did not enter the camp store (except once, for camp wood, and wearing a mask, and only one adult). Yet, the owner accused us of putting her staff at risk because she had to clean the cabin. If it's such a health risk then why did the owner open the cabins in the first place? If it's such a health risk, why didn't the owner give us directions on what you expected us to clean? And regardless of the condition that any guests leaves a cabin, I would expect that the owner would clean the cabin--especially in these risky times. And let's be clear, the owner felt our stay was such a health risk to her and her staff -- but certainly took our money. On dozens of occasions we have stayed at KOA's in the past (including this one), other private campgrounds, AirBnBs, and other vacation rentals and NEVER have I had an issue with an owner until now. Nor has an owner ever complained about me during or after my stay. And to be sure, I have never experienced a nasty and rude owner like this before. While the facility and all of the staff are wonderful, the owner is incredibly rude and it is shame that it has come to this. We will clearly be taking our money elsewhere in the future. read more

Loved this KOA! Set amongst corn fields and cow pastures this KOA is nothing but relaxing! There is a bouncy house for the kids, basketball court, park area, horseshoes, pool, and other things. It's dog friendly with a nice open dog walk. It's in the middle of nowhere so it can't be anything but relaxing. I woke up with the cows and roosters in the distant background. Best part? Free ears of corn right from the field with your stay!! Friendly owners too. Try it :) *I do have to complain that there were a lot of flies but they were only annoying, they did not bite. But for how beautiful the setting is here, I am able to turn a blind eye to the flies. : ) read more

I was nervous heading into the weekend but everything about my stay, from Katie meeting me at my late check in and then helping me hook up safely- in the rain- to them patiently answering my newbie "breakdown" questions. The campground is clean, scenic and a there's fun activities for all ages. I'll be back next year and I'm already looking forward to it!!! read more

This place is so beautiful nestled out here on an old farm. The owners, Kaaren & Kate are very friendly and accommodating. They make you feel like part of the family. The RV spots are big & wide so you are not on top of one another. I highly recommend this spot if you are planning a trip to The Baseball Hall of Fame. If I could, I would give .5 stars on this KOA. My girlfriend and I had planned a week here as our end of year last camping trip. First off, it is 14 miles away from Cooperstown and is closer to Richfield Springs, but since there is nothing to do in Richfield Springs they call this the "Cooperstown KOA". Carmella greeted us and was very helpful and kind. That is about as good as it got. The owners are "NEW" and I would say they are over zealous owners, and when I say over zealous I mean they were trying to micro manage every aspect of the camping experience. I sat and watched one of them make one of the customers actually move their vehicle over for no reason from what I could see. Looking at T-shirts in the shop one of the owners was very rude telling me if I was looking for a particular size/style to ask her and they would get it. Thanks, but I think I am old enough to look and pick out what I want. Needless to say we didn't spend a dime and we usually get something from every camp site we visit. So one day since it was raining my girlfriend and I decided to go check out the "GAME ROOM", which needs A LOT of work. We walked in and we had to plug in and turn on the games ourselves in order to play. We also had to turn on the coffee pot in the main shop in order to make a cup of coffee. My suggestion to the owners, let the campers camp and you run the ground. Oh, by the way, $5 for 5 pieces of wood is RIDICULOUS!! We ended up leaving a day early. This KOA is just simply a spot to LAYOVER if you are traveling. We will NEVER stay at this one again. After this review which I posted on Google, the owner actually said, it would be better if you didn't come back. REALLY. Just another note their "FREE" WiFi consists of a crappy connection and you are only allowed ONE HOUR. What a sorry excuse for a KOA. **Please note these owners have only owned this site since 2016, so any reviews prior to the spring of 2016 are reviews for PREVIOUS owners. read more

Stopped here for a quick overnight stay with a new rig we had just purchased locally. They had a brochure with good info in the after hours arrivals box for us. Spot was roomy and easy to get our 42' 5th Wheel in and out of. Didn't spend much time here, but the grounds also looked very well kept. :-) read more

The owner, Kaaren, acted in an unprofessional manner as she accused our family of bringing more people than we had stated, and told us that this was a health code violation. She then came back the following morning to apologize, as she checked our booking and realized that we had paid extra to have another person. She then had us pay a discounted price for an additional cabin to have one of our family members sleep there instead. While I appreciated the apology, I didn't appreciate the initial attitude and increased cost that was not communicated with the booking of the cabin. Otherwise, the campsite was very nice and was located across from a field that held a number of friendly cows. read more

Not at all like the pictures on the site. Medium size Park. Pull thru spots small had to unhook toad to park. Spaces are barely visible gravel. Was messy in rain. Water pressure was nonexistent. But biggest problem was the anal owner/manager. She was by twice a day to check our car tag, make our car, turn off water, etc. read more

Worst Koa ever!! We frequent KOA campgrounds and love going to them. This campground should not be allowed to be a KOA. Cabin was dirty when we arrived and we have pictures too!! We were constantly talked down to and felt uncomfortable staying at the campground. We have never been talked to or treated this way at a campground. I would not recommend staying there. When we go back to Cooperstown in a few year we will stay at jelly stone. read more

Great hosts! Excellent campgrounds! We came during a very very busy season for Cooperstown. It was the induction of Mike Piazza and Ken Griffey jr. into the hall of fame. Even with the campground being booked, it was a very nice and calm environment. We will definitely go tot his campground again. read more

Beware fellow campers....this was one of the worst camping experiences I've ever had. We reserved a cabin for 2 nights. We had family staying there with campers so we arrived early to visit with them before checking in as I have a brother that is very sick and we wanted to spend as much time as possible with him before they went home. We didn't expect to check in early we just wanted to visit their site until it was time to check in...The owner was ok with it at the time until we checked in and she said she would guide us to our cabin well my husband took off in the truck before she was able to catch up to us and she flew off the handle that we didn't wait for her. The next day we had two children ages 8 and 9 who were staying and they were playing on the playground and the owner went up to them and told them they were annoying. They were just playing like kids do... the next day a couple of the campers saw their bill and were overcharged so they decided to go to the office to try and straighten it out and she immediately said she was being intimidated by the 4 people that went to straighten out their bill and said they were bullying her and told us to get out. It was raining and we had to pack up everything and find another campground...needless to say the kids were very upset because they thought it was their fault... when my husband went up to check out the owner yelled at my husband saying it was his fault because we arrived early and told him "we don't want your kind of people here". He was stunned at her remark so much he didn't no what to say. I find this very unprofessional for a business owner to speak to their guests this way. When we were packing up from our cabin a worker came up to watch us like we were going to trash the place. I told him we were just grabbing our belongings and leaving and I couldn't believe how we were treated...I think they thought we were going to trash the place and we are not "those kind of people". Needless to say we will never camp there again!!!! read more

I will never be disrespected, like I have been here, again. It is unacceptable the way your company as a whole has acted. When I made the reservation I was told this is the unadilla motocross campground. I however was not informed, and was not in your rules and regulations, that I could not have soft wood on my fire, or that I could not talk around a campfire at a normal volume at night. After one warning the owner of this campsite would not even talk to us, he came over and dumped water on our "loud fire and told us to get off his property because he was calling the state police. I have been camping all my life and have never had an experience like this. We come to Unadilla every year and wanted a change from the old campground, but unfortunately our stay was not welcomed. If you do not want 22+ year olds staying on your campground, say so in the information. I am not a child, I do not deserve to be treated as such. The rules and regulations were specific and straightforward, but at this campground "extra" rules are added. I made the reservation after reading the KOA specified rules. As a group we understood quiet hour was at 10, we were no longer playing music, however we were still burning a fire and sitting around it, as every other campsite was. It was very disrespectful for an employee on the campground to come to our site and tell us to get out you "cocksuckers" and pour water on our soft wood fire. Then when I proceeded to go talk to this man he refused and called me multiple disrespectful names. There is not one place where such behavior is allowed. I have never been treated this way and have never treated another person as such. The behavior that came from this man was worse than I have seen in a 2 year old. I will be writing a poor review about this campground as well as telling multiple small newspapers in cooperstown about this situation. As a frequent camper, this had been the worst weekend and campground of my life. I will never stay at a KOA again and neither will my peers. I understand this small drop in business may not affect your company as a whole, but at least those who are checking out the reviews on this campground will see my horrid review of such a disrespectful and rude establishment.
