I was happy to find a pet friendly place. There's a $15/night charge for the dog and if you booked through a website, be sure to note that you are bringing a dog (owner will settled the pet Payment separate). The exterior looks slightly deteriorated but the inside was pretty charming. They also have fire pits and picnic table onsite. The main building has single room rentals and there's upstairs too. The common area has a large seating area for breakfast dinning, games, and a separate sitting room with sofa and piano. The rooms in the main Building are very close together, I don't think I would like that. Luckily, we were at the townhouses. The townhouses are located behind the main building and there were 3 (?) separate townhouses. The one we stayed in had 5 separate rooms: Room 1: 2 queen beds. Room 2 -4: 1 Queen bed, Room 5: 1 queen & 1 twin + separate room with another queen bed. Each room had its own bathroom. The interior looked like it was recently remodeled. Country home feeling with wood panel throughout. Each townhouse has a shared kitchen and living room. They weren't fully booked so they were able to put our 2 parties together in the same townhouse. The beds are comfortable but the sheets were a little worn out and doesn't fit the bed too well, so when you sleep on it, the fitted sheet tend to roll up. The rooms are clean enough. We stayed here for 2 nights and each day, the breakfast is the same (buffet style): scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuit, coffee cake, milk, cereal, coffee, and OJ. Not bad but unfortunately they didn't have any ketchup or hot sauce to go with the eggs. I would say the overall feel for me was just OK. They definitely need some improvement and we've stayed in better B&B. For for the price, it was a good find if you are in a pinch.

I booked the room based on the assurance it did. It did not! My chair fit in the room, it did have a roll-in shower and ONE grab bar by the toilet. That was it. There were no grab bars in the shower, the controls for the shower were about six feet from the shower chair and there was no place in the shower, or bathroom, to place toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush ...). It also had a fixed shower head, not the hand held head you'd expect in a handicapped shower. If I had a 30" chair instead of a 26" chair it would have been almost impossible to maneuver around the room. This does not meet the ADA standard for a handicapped room. I could get into the shower but couldn't use it. My husband did and said there was no water pressure. The shower would only provide a light mist. Took forever to rinse off the soap. The restaurant is over a mile from the hotel. The library is a random collection of books, including World Book Encyclopedia Yearbooks from the 1960s.Totally missed any meeting room. No amenities (phone, ice, vending machine or snacks ...). They did have a communal refrigerator but I wasn't about to trust my prescription meds there. If all you are looking for is a room and a bed it was barely acceptable. I'd look else ware.

If you're here on a day where the restaurant is closed, be aware there are very few local restaurants and meals may require a 15-20 minute drive away.

They also have cereal, bagels, toast, their cinnamon rolls, yogurts, hard-boiled eggs, juice, and hot options like eggs or egg omelets, bacon/sausage, etc. They were doing well in keeping everything stocked. Reading previous reviews we were on the lookout for a gravel unpaved road leading up to the lodge. To our surprise, the gravel road folks grumbled about in previous reviews has been paved into a proper road with lights on the left side of the path to guide your way in the evening. as it was a Friday in August most of the families that stayed for the week for dreampark had checked out and I believe there were 20 rooms booked for the weekend. We were greeted by a friendly young man who was courteous and enthusiastic. The lodge was more than accommodating with an early check in (we called ahead to confirm it was ok) and we were given a room with 2 king sized beds, a kitchenette and a spacious bathroom. As our experiences with hotels this summer was less then spectacular I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room and that the filters in the air conditioning unit seem to be regularly cleaned. No musty odors, cobwebs or dust to be found in the room. the kitchenette was spotless with 2 electric stove burners, microwave, sink, and mini fridge. I checked in with the yelp app (they have free wifi) and noticed there was a 15% discount upon check in. I went back to the front office and asked the young man who seemed confused and said he'd inquire. Quite honestly at this point I couldn't care less. If we got it, great but the experience and the lodge already proved themselves to be worth the price. Our next stop was the hot tub and pool. Outdoor and overlooking a stunning mountain view it was hard to pry ourselves away after a couple of hours to shower and go eat. We talked with the young man at the front desk regarding the dinner options in the area and decided on the red shed. I would have checked in at the red shed but there was no reception in the area. After dinner, we came back to a lighted path leading us to the lodge and found another equally as pleasant young man on the night shift. we inquired about the fire pit and if there would be one that evening. He jumped up and led us outside and got a fire going! Sitting outside in adirondack chairs sipping wine in cooperstown on a clear night has got to be one of the most awe inspiring view my eyes have ever witnessed. There isn't a constellation in the sky that hides from your view. You feel both amazed and a part of something much greater than your own existence. We were truly grateful at the chance to witness such a beautiful site atop the mountain. Our beds were as comfortable as they appeared and the room was equipped with directTV for our viewing pleasure. In the morning we woke up early to see the sunrise over the mountains (pics posted), had coffee and a continental breakfast in their main area behind the check in area. it was quaint, relaxing and had a screen room with rhododendron chairs that were comfortable and funky. I couldn't recommend this place more for a relaxing stay. Side note: they do have a game room with a couple of coin operated games and an air hockey table along with a swing set for the kids out front. We didn't get to utlize the spa, but heard the masseuse was good at her craft. *After leaving we received a call from the sister of the young man who checked us in. She figured out the yelp discount and applied it to our account. Jeremy took off from the cost for the inconvenience and we proceeded to hang out in the lobby talking to him about hunting, fishing, and the Cooperstown area. When our rooms were finally ready, we headed to their top level of rooms and settled in. I enjoy "vintage" hotels, but my son is used to modern ones. Needless to say, this place grew on him and it worked for us. We even enjoyed a cigar while overlooking the lake on our last day there. I thought it was a very good deal for the price and it's about a 10 minute ride to downtown Cooperstown, so you're a little ways away from that chaos. Can't beat the views!

I would recommend the Meadowlark to anyone looking to stay in the area.
