On March 17, 2026 I purchased a new vehicle from Coos Bay Toyota. The entire experience was relatively painless and stress free thanks to Lee Taft my salesman. He was congenial, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor which is always a plus in my book. The only thing I might have suggested was that someone order in some food. My half of a bagel that morning wore off by 4pm. Over all the experience was a terrific. I just want to add that I had my trade in Toyota always serviced there in Coos Bay and always had excellent service. One time I called a week ahead and made an appointment for service. When I got there I wasn't on the books. They were busy but they made room for my vehicle and I didn't wait any longer than I normally would. I will, of course, take my new Toyota there for service. read more

If you're going to be a service center, then timely delivery is a big part of the experience. Everyone works all week and have responsibilities to manage and balance on the weekends, and that gets impacted when your vehicle is sitting in the parking lot hrs past your appointment time. I live 2 hrs drive away, so time and gas are factor For me. Wish I had a dealership closer but going forward will have to find other accommodations. read more

Made an appointment for service. Had my interior dome lights checked, rotated tires, and had drivers seat checked. Waited 3 and a half hours. I figure 15 minutes to rotate tires, 15 minutes to pop off dome light module and check bulbs. So 3 hours to take driver's seat apart and diagnose? Wow! The receipt for the interior lights have the tech state they took the lighting module apart, found the bulbs were not working, put in new bulbs, and saw them work . The problem is---- after they found the new bulbs worked they took out the working new bulbs and put the broken not working bulbs back in. Charging me $130 to do so. The service rep, Henry, told me when I returned to pick up the car that new bulbs only cost $35 to replace. But Henry never attempted to call me for an approval of $35 to fix bulbs. Henry also knew I live in Gold Beach and drove 4 hours RT to get to the dealer. Now I have to return for another 4 hour RT drive instead of having the bulbs replaced for a measly $35. Again. So they replace the broken bulbs, take out the working bulbs, and put back in the broken ones? Why not call me over the 3 and a half hours I waited? For a measly $35? Then. Henry tells me they took the driver's seat apart and it needs a new motor. I show Henry a Service Warranty I bought from an Utah Toyota Dealer last year. Henry tells me that he will call the warranty company to get approval for coverage on the $1800 seat motor replacement. That was 4 days ago and nobody has called to tell me if the seat motor is covered by the warranty. Obscenely poor customer service. I have done business with over 6 Toyota Dealers and this one is by far the worst. read more

Went here mid-Dec 2023 with a spec built on the Toyota website. Salesperson Brian said he would request the spec and it would arrive in 4-6 weeks. I kicked the tires on a similar spec and did a test drive. We negotiated a price and he said he'd put my name on it as "reserved", that they would call me once it arrived so I could get first crack at it, and that they'd not sell it until I had a chance to take a look. I thought it was weird that he didn't want a deposit, but he said they sell extremely fast and they didn't require deposits on these because they were guaranteed to sell no matter what. He took my contact information and even showed me on the screen where it had my name on the car they were allocated. Week 4 came, so I called. Brian said he didn't have anything yet and getting any information was like pulling teeth. I called again at the 6 week mark. Brian said the inventory was delayed but once again, gave almost no information. I asked when should I call back and suggested a week or two, he said sure. He sounded completely disinterested and I almost felt like he didn't even remember who I was at this point. Yesterday (8 week mark) I call again and ask if the spec had arrived. Brian told me that they had gotten their inventory in, and that my black Rav 4 Hybrid was on the lot and ready. I asked if I could come down the following afternoon to look at it. He said sure. When I asked if he had the specific car I had requested he kinda hesitated and said, "Um, yeah!" Weird, but okay. I showed up today and Brian was with a different client. Someone else ran me around the lot looking for the car I had factory-requested and reserved. They checked their inventory, and the spec wasn't there. They started trying to sell me on a different color, a different trim level, different options, a standard instead of a hybrid... no, no, NO. I explained wasn't there to shop, I was there to look at the spec I already pre-arranged. This new guy gets the manager. The manager proceeds to tell me they probably sold my spec already. WHAT?! I explained the situation; he said they didn't even have my phone number on file. The manager was unbelievably condescending. He told me these cars sell very fast. I said I get that, but I was assured multiple times you were getting THIS spec and that you had MY name on it. Then he turns around and tells me "we're not going to order a $40k car without paperwork." Excuse me? In the same breath that you're telling me the car sold so fast it didn't even sit on the lot for 12 full hours?? Give me a break. Can't believe I just had 8 weeks of my time wasted by these people, but the cherry on top was the manager acting like it was my fault for believing what his own salesperson said. I'd rather drive all the way to Eugene than be treated so shabbily by someone I'm trying to give thousands of dollars to. read more

I took my car into CB Toyota to get an inspection because my windshield wipers had stopped working. Toyota inspected my wipers and told me I needed a new motor for my windshield wipers. They TRIED to charge me 1,600 for a new motor and a new transmission for my windshield wipers. I took my car to an honest mechanic and the mechanic told me I didn't need a new motor and also told me it very much looked like my windshield wiper wires were INTENTIONALLY cut, damaged, and hammered. I had only taken my car to Toyota first and then a mechanic. I was VERY UPSET! I contacted Toyota and demanded that I get my refund for the inspection they had done since it had been IMPROPERLY INSPECTED by them telling me I needed a new motor when I didn't. I also held them responsible for my windshield wipers wiring getting INTENTIONALLY damaged and they couldn't give me an explanation nor investigate the damage that happened to my car. They were not helpful at all AND VERY MUCH DISMISSED ME!!!! I won't be taking my car back here for ANY SERVICING. I've been a customer for 2 years and have had several bad experiences here as well as my grandfather did too. They don't do honest business and will try to cheat you and get as much money out of you as they can. *** EVEN if it means INTENTIONALLY damaging your vehicle*** If i could give ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! For me, he is - By Far - the most unpleasant, worst individual I have ever encountered at any dealership in my life. I used to work at a prison and I have inmates locked up for stealing a $10 6-pack of beer. These guys tried to rip me off over $1000. Who are the real criminals in the world? Before I left for my vacation from Texas, my Toyota Master Mechanic checked out my 4 Runner. After driving many miles, my vehicle indicated that I needed an oil change. So I dropped my 4 Runner for an oil change. The advisor said he would give me a free 90 point inspection. I unequivocally "declined" the service. In less than an hour my vehicle was ready. The service advisor gave me a list of repairs despite the fact that I requested no inspections on my vehicle. He ventured to let me know that my back brakes needed immediate attention and my front brakes need attention very soon. He encouraged me to fix everything so that I could be safe. Nevertheless, I declined. When I got back home to Texas, I immediately had my Toyota Master Mechanic look at it. He just laughed and said I had 40% left on my brakes and it would at least last me another year easily. In addition he stated that's why you don't take you care to the dealerships. They will replace things that are not needing to be fixed. This Toyota of Coos Bay are criminals. They will take trusting hard working people and take their money. What they do here is a form of "Stealing", replacing parts that are perfectly fine. Yes, the service advisors are extremely polite, but it is only to gain your trust so that you will follow their advice to make unnecessary repairs. We purchased a Dodge Journey from the local Toyota dealer in Reno, and part of the package was having oil changes and other maintenance covered up to 75,000 miles. Well, we were in Coos Bay last year and needed to have the oil changed. Went by on a Saturday, and they were able to fit me in, no problem. Nice thing was that there were computers in the waiting area, and I didn't feel like lugging out the laptop, so I was able to do some surfing while there. They also had excellent coffee, and I was able to walk to Ace next door as well. The service took about an hour, however, they washed the car too, which was a major bonus. read more

Sadly, this dealership is a disappointment. I've read and heard good things about this business, so my wife and I thought it would be nice to keep our money local and purchase a "new" (used) vehicle from a local dealership. I made an inquiry about a 2005 Toyota Prius with them on 1/10/2015. Bambi sent a fairly copy/paste response, which included a CarFax report and an insanely high price (aka "special online price"). After working with Sheri (Bambi was out of the office) on the price to something that was based on this planet on 1/12/2015, they pulled a fast one and was "reminded" by Wayne that the Prius had to have body work done. Have I mentioned that we went down to the dealership multiple times (at night, as we both work during their hours) to view the car, only to find nothing around. So, they gave me a choice: pay X amount for a badly dented door or pay more for it to be fixed. Needless to say, I thought we should roll the repair into the cost and I sent the OK to send the car into the body shop. Later that day (it's still 1/12!), Sheri wrote a "lovely" reminded that the car is in queue for repair, so we needed to decided what we wanted to do. Again, I sent the OK for repair. On January 14, Alan (who also sent the pictures of the dent to me), sent an email about the Prius going into the shop that day and hoped the pictures he sent were fine. I replied, "Hey Alan, I did indeed get the pictures and showed my wife later that day. We love the car and we're looking forward to speaking with you and the other staff later about it. Thanks again!" No reply back that day. Today (1/15), I sent another email back to Alan so we could get the paperwork done, since he and his staff failed to send the needed documents. I heard nothing... until around 2 PM. Alan, again, sent me the message, this time more polite than a Southern belle: "This is Alan from coos bay Toyota, I'm sorry to inform you that the prius you inquired about has been sold. I will keep you updated if another similar one comes in. Thank You." "Oh..." I thought. I was under the impression that we had an agreement that the vehicle, which was not advertised nor stated earlier, was damaged and would be in for repairs. Thus, the documents and any necessary forms were being "cooked." Maybe they forgot? We do have a loan. We were ready to go. Where were you guys? I thought I was under false pretense about the car, so I made an inquiry with two of my colleagues at work. I read some of the emails, told them the details, and asked their opinions. Yeeeeeeah, not so good comments from them - and it looks like they'll be staying clear of Coos Bay Toyota as well. Like a bad high school romance, I emailed Bambi again, hoping there was some mistake. "I emailed Alan about our paperwork and he stated in an email that the car sold. Is this correct?" I wrote. She replied, "Yes, the 2005 Toyota Prius just sold today. We can definitely keep our eyes open for something similar to come in and let you know if/when it does." Oh... REPLY: To Robert H. - 1/16/2015 Amazing customer service! One can only be trained in such deflections to place the blame on the consumer and cleverly calling someone a liar. Look, we get that it's a business and money is to be made, but when your sales team underhanded two people with this scammy tout tactic, it's going to make the business look bad. Now, about Robert's statement: 1) "Your "special online price" in the first email was clarified in another email as the "Market Price", or what these vehicles are actually selling for in our area." Bull. The "special online price" was just that, a price. It was later touted as a "market price" because I knew it was overpriced and I was playing ball with them. Seems like they didn't like that too much! 2) "You had sent in an email asking for full out the door price to compare to other dealerships... You stated that you where not going to be making an offer or decisions because your wife wanted both of you to be able to see and drive the vehicle before making a decision." I sure did! Do you know why? It's because we were looking for a D.E.A.L. And guess what? You guys offered it to us for $8000 (or $8999 repair), which we, for the most part, accepted. How? Because we told the sales team (twice) to send it for repairs. It was under the impression that, since they asked about sending it into repairs, that an agreement was reached and paperwork would start. 3) "We had not heard from you about when you wanted to come in ...we had no cash down, no financing application" Again, comparing deals ended when we (CB Toyota, my wife, and I) sent the car into repairs. I sent, "My wife would prefer that any prior damage be repaired, so I would just have the car stay in queue. Thanks again!" It's hard to see the thing when it's under repair and we both work during business hours. One of us would have made it! Also, we were waiting for YOU people. I believe in the Toyota name, and often it appears there's more to choose from on their lot than anyone else's. Still... don't forget your shopping options. LOTS of places sell Toyota's and without all the "attitude". They offered free car washing for life, and yet when I bought an SUV I was promptly turned away because my car was "too big". And... I really dislike the dealership advertising campaign. Alot. Our purchase was neither easy, nor pleasant. As a matter of fact, once all negotiations were final, I ended up driving off the lot in my old car when keyless entries were not provided as standard on the vehicle. Thankfully, they had a change of heart by the time I came home from their location, and decided to anti up with all they'd just sold me on, including the KEYS! So... I can say I've been happy with my FORD that I bought at the Toyota dealership, but would say this to anyone shopping for a vehicle: It isn't necessary to shop local. Really... it isn't. They didn't build the cars here, and you don't have to pay them to sell you one. Shop online. Shop elsewhere. Timing is very precious to me , I went in to have my scheduled oil change on my handicapped mini van bought through Toyota. The process took over 3 hrs . are you serious.. I asked how come its taking so long I was told well your apt wasn't till 2:30 pm but my appointment card say 2:15pm. then I was told its a special van we have to put it on a special lift which is a total bogus excuse .. I was in love with the previous car I owned, unfortunately I had car accident and the car was done, with the money I received from my insurance I began shopping for a used car to save some money. By far the best experience I have ever had with any car dealer. We bought a new Tacoma a few months ago and have received nothing by top notch service from everyone at the dealership. EVERYONE is so friendly and helpful. They have a wonderful little restaurant inside the dealership - which is even dog friendly. We get free car washes ... for life. They have free barbecues on Saturdays during the summer. Excellent service. We were pleased that the 5000-mile checkup was provided at no charge. Took my husband's 2015 dodge challenger in to get an oil change done yesterday and then I got a call later in the day saying that our car was hit and they were sending it over to the body shop to be repaired. When asked how it happened, who did it etc they wouldn't give me any details besides it was in the line to be washed when and employee backed another car into the front of it due to not seeing it and that's all they would give me. I let me husband know and he went down to speak with them cuz we were pissed. When speaking to the manager he has the audacity to tell my husband that our signs hanging up(out in the car wash line) state we are not responsible for any damages that may occur. My husband then got mad and asked if it wasn't an employee them where is that person info? He then stated it was an employee who did it and my husband had to tell him if it's your employee then you will fix it that's why you have insurance also I am here for services to be done not a free car wash and you guys were the ones driving it not us!. He demanded that his hood be replaced due to the place and how bad the dent was an was told that they wouldn't be replacing it just fixing it. We had an event to go to this weekend and now am unable to due to them fixing my car which will maybe be done on Monday.. I called and tried to express how big of a inconvenience the gal simply said " we are fixing it what else do you want us to do" with an attitude and let me tell you I am so mad and not happy!!!!
