We came here since the big boss was in town. This was my first visit and our seating area wasn't…read morethe best (we sat in the bar area) but the views were great and the food wasn't too bad either. 3/5 Corn ribs - never had a corn rib before. Good, a bit sweet. Messy to eat. 3/5 Truffle fries - good but average 4/5 Polenta - very tasty, a must. 3/5 Duck and waffle - I expected this to be bigger but it was good. I normally prefer chicken but the duck wasn't bad. All the food was decent and the staff were all nice. It's unfortunate that the walk to the restaurant passes by the smelly toilets. Also there was only one lift working that day so it took a little time to get up/down.

I've been looking forward to visiting Duck & Waffle for quite some time. The views are incredible,…read morethe space itself is striking, and on paper it promises that perfect London mix of skyline, late-night energy, and elevated comfort food. Unfortunately, our experience was soured before it even had a chance to begin. My girlfriend and I walked in excited, completely amicable, simply hoping to head upstairs for a bite and drinks. We were greeted by the doorman with an immediate, dismissive "Are you good?" -- not in a welcoming or helpful tone, but in a way that felt skeptical and unnecessarily confrontational. There was no warmth, no "welcome in," no attempt at hospitality. It immediately set an uncomfortable tone. He then proceeded to call upstairs as though he were doing us some sort of favor just by allowing us to go up. The entire interaction felt transactional and judgmental rather than gracious. First impressions matter, especially at a place that positions itself as a premium dining destination. Hospitality begins at the door, not at the table. When we finally made it upstairs, the room was filled with visibly drunk, rowdy groups -- which only made the earlier attitude feel even more misplaced. If that environment is acceptable (and profitable), then two polite guests looking for drinks and food shouldn't be met with suspicion at the entrance. By that point, the damage was done. The initial interaction had already rubbed us the wrong way, and the energy upstairs didn't help. We ultimately decided to leave before even sitting at our table. That's how strongly the first impression impacted us. It's difficult to justify staying somewhere when you don't feel genuinely welcomed from the outset. Duck & Waffle has the potential to be memorable for all the right reasons. But someone representing the brand at the very front needs to understand that hospitality isn't optional -- it's foundational. A simple, respectful welcome would have changed everything. I hope management takes this seriously, because no guest should feel judged or dismissed before they even step inside.

Lithuanian Food? Never tried it before but I kind of had to since my flatmate is from Lithuania…read more I heard before that basically everything is made of meat and potatoes with a lot of sour cream on top. And here we go, that's exactly what it was. I tried Kugelis which were kind of mashed potatoes with meat and sour cream and my friend had something that I don't remember the name but was also some potato balls with meat and sour cream. We also had some beetroot and yogurt soup which was delicious. The portions were huge and I couldn't even finish half of mine. The restaurant itself is in a shopping center but apart from that it looks actually quite nice. The theme is like the name Lituanica, which is a plane that flew from the United States across the Atlantic Ocean by Lithuanian-American pilots in 1933. After successfully flying most of the distance it crashed 650 km from its destination in Lithuania. There are pictures of the plane and the pilots and that's pretty cool. The food wasn't really my taste (apart from the soup) and it felt a bit like a cantine but my Lithuanian friend likes it so it must be authentic.

The vegetables were also half gone with fewer choices remaining for sides. Again, the staff appeared to have no intention of getting more carrots or beetroot from the kitchen- I was stuck with only cole slaw as a veg option. I should mention, it was only 6:30 pm! It is not like I tried to show up late or near closing. The supermarket was even worse-staff was rude and my groceries were tallied incorrectly. I was overcharged by £3.79 for something I did not purchase! The woman at the till was far more interested in having a gossip conversation with her colleague than to ring up my order. This is probably why I was overcharged. For these reasons, I will not return.

Loved the vibe there and especially feel sophisticated when people around you are ordering things like 'Old Fashion' and Hendricks for a change. Restaurant side though it is quite pricy. The trick to get the most intense cake was blend the tea leaves AND matcha powder together, this was paired with a slightly burnt caramel sauce and a super sweet peanut ice cream. But eaten together, the balance was JUST right, right amount of tea intensity, bittersweetness and crunch! The brittle was not sticky to the teeth and it was so so so good. I WANT ANOTHER ONE NOW. I DON'T CARE IM WRITING THIS IN THE MORNING. NOW. Right from when we say down to when we left, the service was impeccable and faultless. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive, with a dash of humorous sarcasm! Apparently being the difficult customers we were, we asked about the whole menu, but you know, for the benefit of YELP obviously! My fellow diners opted to get the soft boiled gulls egg and the dramatics were great, it came in a gulls nest hidden under straw! It was a bit finicky though- shell to take off and wasn't as runny as they'd like - also they brought out 4 eggs but then stated that the price was per egg, which was a bit weird. But I guess they were clear about that! Saying that though, it tasted amazing, or so I was told. Then the mains, gosh the beef cheek I had was beautiful, soft and rich and just the right amount of food on a plate (along with a salad side) It was a beautiful plate of dish and I was recommended a glass of red which paired really nicely! I think it was the Morgan! Aside from one of us, most of us opted for beef from steak to steak tartare and they were lovely enough to do a mains portion of steak tartare for my friend. Unfortunately the steak wasn't as great as the boys expected- steak was wonderfully big but that was it's downfall, it wasn't soft enough! And one of my diners had the market fish which was the Dover sole in a Beurre blanc sauce and it was massive. The mains alone are well worth the 30% off! So ups and downs, and I wish I could give it 4,5 stars because aside from the minor steak fiasco, the food was beautiful, the service faultless even when they knew that we were not full paying diners! With drinks and everything, it wasn't cheap and it's something for payday for sure- 5 of us came to about £40+ a head....
