I don't know how to describe this place. It's weird. I've been here maybe 5 times over the past 6 months. First off, the food is excellent. AMAZING actually. I've never had anything that wasn't perfectly prepared, flavorful, and served the correct temperature. And that's what really matters in a restaurant, of course. But the vibe is odd. I can't put my finger on it. It's "clique-y". Every time I come, I walk into an empty restaurant with no host. And it seems I've walked in before they opened. They have lots of private events which are walled off with weird partitions. And they sometimes (according to others I overheard) completely close down for private parties. I don't ask for much. I require very little attention. I grossly over tip. And, yet still I feel very unwelcome in this restaurant that I have frequented several times. I don't get it. The other customers were very nice to me, but the staff seemed annoyed by my presence. It's bizarre. Anyway, the food alone earns them a top rating. Pro tip: Do NOT sit at the bar. They don't tell you this: but it's for the regulars. You'll feel like you've wandered into a party you weren't invited to. AND.....order the Prince Edward Island mussels! read more

Copper & Vine is a really nice restaurant that mixes fine dining with a casual experience in the Las Colinas neighborhood. The owner of the restaurant took our order and offered good suggestions. He raved about their Tiramisu and we wanted to try if for dessert. The starters we tried were well seasoned and flavorful. The pasta bowls come with breadsticks and is perfect for one. The bowls are not shareable but the flavors were excellent. Do try the tiramisu for dessert. It is highly recommended. Plenty of parking available in the strip mall. We were here on the day they celebrated their 1 year anniversary. A neighbor clued us in that they were serving free apps for the occasion and that they had happy hour specials. Say no more - I'm in. I do hesitate to say what the free app spread was just b/c it probably won't happen for another year, but I'm not a gate keeper so the spread was pretty good. Kofta kebabs, sliders, a red sauce pasta, 2 kinds of bruschetta, homemade potato chips, italian sub sandwiches, and a couple other things I can't remember. This place was awesome. The service was top notch and some of the best you'll ever get. I believe the owner was the one seating and hosting anyone that came through the door. He was extremely polite and was out there serving guests, taking dirty plates, bringing entrees out, etc. really cool to see. The waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We went with friends to Copper & Vine, because we were interested in the Cocktail Class. The menu also looked delicious. We had an experience that exceeded all expectations. The service was 110%! The restaurant had such a welcoming feel and we loved the decor and ambiance. We all highly recommend doing the cocktail class. They have an excellent cocktail and wine menu, btw. And, everything we ordered to eat was impeccable. The Bruschetta was incredible. Such a simple dish but excellent. The meatballs were also delicious. My crab cake meal was delicious. The spinach that came with it was WOW! My husband loved his Wedge salad with Shrimp and our friends loved the Veggie Panini. The Creme Brûlée was spot on. Was in Irving, TX visiting for work and saw Copper & Vine on the near-by restaurant list on Apple Maps. I decided to give it a try as it was close to the hotel I was staying at and the restaurant had excellent reviews. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly bartender and was promptly seated by the maitre ď. The atmosphere of the restaurant is moody with a warm and welcoming vibe. Their fully stocked bar had plenty of bar seating and a wide selection of liquors and the rest of the restaurant space had intimate seating. Upon review of the menu, the entree options ranged from antipasti, salads, pastas, from the sea, and of course steak (we are in Texas after all). They have a rather extensive wine offering from various regions (France, Italy, Spain, etc.) My waitress was very attentive and the customer service was excellent. I chose the crab cakes on this occasion and I'm pleased with my decision. The crab cakes were impeccable. They consisted more of crab than bread crumbs (which surprisingly is more of an exception rather than the rule in my experience) and topped with a creamy/tangy remoulade. The sautéed spinach was perfectly cooked with red onions and what I believed to be some sort of white wine, to deglaze the caramelized onions. The creamed corn had a unique flavor profile but in a good way! The strong flavor of fresh parmesan was present through out the mixture and the corn was not cooked to a mush consistency and still had a nice crunch! Brody is not only an excellent server, he's also an excellent bartender. Try their specialty cocktails, especially the mango Bellini. My boyfriend and I came here today during lunch and started off with their hummus and got an Italian sandwich and French dip that we shared ( he also got an old fashioned that he loved ) both sandwiches were amazing but that French dip truly is the best sandwich I've ever had. The owner Craig has got to be one of the nicest guys We have ever met. We went here the other day - a Saturday night. From what I could tell, this is a new restaurant, so we were excited to try it and see what's up. By checking their website, it sounds like a higher end restaurant - touting wine tastings and "Italian, French and Mediterranean influences in this upscale yet rustic Vineyard setting". I remember this place from before - it used to be an excellent seafood place. The inside hasn't changed much - the curved bar is still there. The atmosphere feels like they haven't nailed it yet. High ceilings, open floor - it doesn't feel intimate. And on a Saturday night it was not busy at all. The place could use some booths. It's a very casual place. No need to dress up to go here. Given the wine-centric vibe they are going for, we asked the waiter for a Sauvignon Blanc that was similar to ones from Marlborough - sort of acidic and minerally. He was clearly stumped and named another Sauvignon Blanc which we got. It was the opposite of what we were asking for - I liked it very much but it was a french wine that was more sweet and buttery. I liked it a lot but my girl wasn't a huge fan - it was for her as she does whites and I red. I asked for one red, but he came back to say they were out of it. I got another red which was fine. For a place going for a winery vibe, a waiter who isn't knowledgeable about wines at all and being out of a wine seemed really strange. The wine list isn't huge but it has stuff on there I don't recognize at all. Also this place is mere steps away from a Total Wine and More so how are you out of a wine? The food was a little disappointing. The menu itself is made up of printed sheets. My guess is that they are still working on their dishes prior to making a legit menu. The menu is made up of shareables which sounded good, 3 entrees, some desserts, 5 sandwiches, salads and pasta. She got a salad with shrimp, I got one of the pasta dishes. Now the pasta menu is odd in that you pick a noodle type then the sauce. You can add protein if you want. This is unusual and I would recommend they do a standard pasta bolognese, another with the pesto, etc. It felt weird to piece it together myself not that it's a huge deal but just a bit odd. I didn't like what I ended up with. I had pasta with their Gorgonzola cheese sauce - I'd never seen that sauce before and was excited to try it. It wasn't good - it was sour and bitter and really weird. It had bleu cheese on top too (I think - it was hard to tell). Now I didn't like it but my girl likes the opposite cheeses I do so I had her taste it. She didn't like it either. The flavor was really off. I've never had a cream sauce so bitter and stange before. I picked at it and took the rest home but we threw it out before we got in the car. My girl liked her salad ok but it wasn't great - she didn't rave about it. We did split the creme brulee for desert and it was excellent. Very firm not overly eggy. It's great. This place is new and I want it to succeed and I hope this review is taken with that in mind. The menu items need some work. The seating needs to be flushed out - booths please. And some better info around the wines would help - be it educated staff or flavor notes on the menu. read more

Went for dinner for my brother in law's birthday last night and had a large group in a private room. The inside of the restaurant is upscale for the area and a nice vibe. What surprised me is that for a restaurant touting itself as wine-centric, they had very few wines to choose from. We ordered a bottle of cab for the table and then a little while later, ordered another bottle only to be informed that they were out and we should have the chianti. It was ok but running out of wine on a Saturday night was just kind of weird. I ordered the chicken Romano and it was good- nothing spectacular but decent. Had the calamari for an app and it was a little overdone but again, not bad. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals but this stretch of Las Colinas has a ton of restaurants to choose from and the competition is pretty fierce. They're going to need to step it up a bit if they want to survive the competition. read more

I'm going to start this review off by saying that I think the owner is wonderful, you can tell he takes pride in his restaurant and I've always been warmly welcomed which is why I am a fan. I think this establishment caters to a certain upper middle class crowd, which again as someone who grew up in those circles in the burbs of DFW, I get it. I personally would like to see them cater more to this diverse city I know and love. Service behind the bar was cold & I could tell the person wanted to cater more to the frequent patrons which left me disappointed. I have a lot of friends in the service industry and I often dine alone, I know great servers when I see them so I'd just like to see friendlier service. I've had friendlier service at neighboring spots. The food is absolutely wonderful, if just we could be warmer to everyone instead of a select crowd. I will return since Las Colinas has been my stomping ground for far too long. I just needed to share my experience. read more

On a second visit, I feel the need to offer some potentially helpful advice that I wish I knew of. Apparently from 3:30 to 5pm-plus each Saturday they offer a bartending class that takes place in the bar area. Which at least this Saturday equated to around ten individuals acting like they were at a sports bar rather than a wine bar. They were yelling so loud, oblivious to the fact that others were there to try to enjoy a drink and / or meal. Was a total buzz kill and pretty much ruined the time spent there. The waiter did offer an apology so it seems as if the awareness was there but I suspect they can't tell paying customers to tone it down. When I go to a wine bar, I don't expect an experience / atmosphere like this. If I wanted that I'd go to Boomer Jacks or some place similar. read more

Just had lunch at this fairly new restaurant in Las Colinas. Food was great , atmosphere is nicer than most places in the area. And the prices are very reasonable depending on your tastes. The menu is limited for lunch, and plenty of options to meet your dining experience. Our service was personal and spot on, drinks filled multiple times, plates delivered with class, and table cleared as we completed our meals. You need to try Copper & Vine at least once, if not more for lunch. We got in and out quickly without any wait. Sounds like it's a wonderful place for wine down evenings also based on the wine menu. The French onion soup was very good. Served traditionally, with nice melted cheese and hot, but not scorching hot. The baguette toast was perfect in the soup, (as opposed to croutons) and the broth was not over salty. The spinach salad with goat cheese strawberries, pecans and a sharp champagne vinagrette was good and fulfilling, even with the smaller portion option. The Olive Oil cake was excellent . Due to being not so hungry, I ordered the tagliatelle and pink alfredo to go. I always enjoy the mix of alfredo and marinara. This did not disappoint, and served with two pieces of garlic bread. There was a tinge of spice in the sauce. It worked for me, even though I have to reduce spice in my diet. It heated up well at home. (I used a pan, not a microwave.) I signed up online to be a "VIP" and for my birthday was offered a free dessert. I ate it there; hence the fullness. I tried the olive oil cake and was completely surprised. (I rarely eat desserts.) The cake was hearty, but the flavor was all cake, along with the strawberries and whipped cream. Overall it was a great experience for my forst time there. I went at lunch, so it was not too busy. Craig, the Proprietor was working the tables. I sat at the bar. He was very accomodating and eager to please. I have read a couple of reviews that were not so good. I know when service is bad, it it ruins the evening. Sometimes, there is a bad night. When possible, I give a place a second try. We all have bad days.
