Would have absolutely loved to see the grain drying room full!
    Cindy P.

Copper Fox Distillery is five stars in every category! Most importantly though, the whiskey, it's absolutely top notch. Hubby and I shared our tastings so we were able to get a sip of each one and we were both amazed that they each had their own distinct flavors. Of the 12 we tasted, they were all completely different. Some were straight forward, some were complex and some were just plain stunning! My favorites were the original rye, one of the straight forward ones and the port style rye, rich and complex. We were also able to enjoy a tour of the unique motel conversion, quite the endeavor and quite the accomplishment! What stood out the most was the grain drying room, something you will only see in Scotland, or apparently Williamsburg! Gabriel provided a very entertaining and informative journey through the process from start to finish, answering questions along the way and genuinely passionate about the process. The other staff members we met and had the pleasure of being served by were all very friendly, down to earth and genuine. Copper Fox is a must stop on any trip to Williamsburg! Enjoy!

The Cherry Limade. (So good I drank it all before the photo which I took after like 2 minutes of getting the drink.)

Great drinks! I got the delicious Cherry Limade. Staff was also very kind. There were some mean customers but that has nothing to do with them, and those people are everywhere. The employees were still kind after that.

Cooper Fox is always a must when in Williamsburg. They are always so friendly and knowledgeable about the all the drinks onsite. We did a tasting and also had some cocktails. The eggnog was amazing! We also had the pear and ginger punch, which was very refreshing. It's a great spot to catch a few drinks and get some light snacks. It's a laidback and casual spot to chat, catch up with friends, or just to relax. Highly recommend!

This is truly amazing experience for me and my family! We planned to visit Williamsburg and since we were in almost every museum in the town, I decided to book a tour on Copper Fox distillery. Super charming afternoon we spent there will be remembered for long time. We were toured through all malting and distilling processes, saw all stages of bourbon production and finally had beautiful bourbon tasting for discounted prices since we paid for the tour. I'm not a bourbon expert ,but historic building, charming chandelier ,passionate team of professionals and happy people around, make me feel happy... Highly recommended for adults to spend couple hours with touring and tasting, locals should be proud to have such a great place in neighborhood.

Great find!! We stopped during a rainy day and it was like sunshine to walk into here. We were greeted by two wonderful people. They welcomed us to sit any where we wanted to and ask any questions. Our treats were two separate flights of whiskey. Followed up by splitting the Old Fashion flight for dessert. All of the beverages were great and the greeting with the unique humor and decor made the sun to come out.

This is a hidden gem of an establishment. Speak easy style book case entrance and some wonderfully creative whiskeys and bourbons. Bartenders are VERY KNOWLEDGABLE and very attentive and friendly. Love the repurposing of the moto lodge and keeping it authentic with the feel and ambience. You MUST experience this for yourself. Take the tour taste and buy some product to take a bunch home.

I've now been here twice and both times have been excellent! A great venue with a variety of drinks (including non-alcoholic drinks), friendly staff and a great vibe. They offer specials on different days of the week, usually have a food truck on-site and have special events. Seating both inside and outside with a beautiful outdoor space.

At about 4 p.m. on a Saturday after a day of sightseeing, I was looking for somewhere to sit and relax with my book--this was a great choice for that. Service was quick, kind, and thorough. As a solo diner, I always appreciate servers who are attentive, but not overly bothersome (and not judgmental or too chatty). As I perused the menu, I was having a hard time choosing which Old Fashioned I wanted to try...so I was very excited to see they offer an Old Fashioned flight! I'm actually not a huge whiskey drinker, so I won't even try to share my opinion on that, but the cocktails were tasty and, again, I was grateful to be able to taste a few!

If you drink alcohol whatsoever this distillery is a must visit if you are visiting Williamsburg. The building is beautiful, inside and out. The service is outstanding, they are knowledgeable about their product and are helpful with making suggestions. The flights are a great way to taste what they have. If you don't like tasting it alone the cocktails are also delicious.

We had a very nice tour and visit at Copper Fox Distillery. It was fascinating to see how an old hotel from the 1960s in the middle of tourist Williamsburg has been turned into scotch distillery. I enjoyed learning about the process of making scotch, how Copper Fox's scotch is different from Scottish scotch (no peat), why they do not make bourbon (except for 1 recipe) and the entire process. After the tour concluded, we adjourned to the lounge where we had a tasting. I am not a big scotch fan, but I did enjoy their 1797 Belle Grove, based on a Colonial Virginia bourbon recipe.

The guy who serves you is friendly and knowledgeable. This distillery has a different take on whiskey. Lots of finishes and different styles. We paid 15 for four 1/4 ounce pours that were just OK. There wasn't a bottle I would own. Nice sitting room with music, maps, and comfortable chairs.

Gabriel did a great job with the tour. He was informative and very knowledgeable about the process. Facility is neat and different. Must try if you are around.

Who knows, maybe even a place to hold a small continuing education conference?? We attended the Galentine's Day brunch buffet. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time either in person or over the phone. It is a cozy, comfy space to dine and have drinks in a relaxed classy beautifully decorated establishment. The interior design emanates speakeasy. Every detail of design was carefully curated with the utmost intention. Staff was fantastic. Even though it was a brunch buffet, staff were attentive, friendly and frequently checked on all tables to address any needs or questions. The lovely staff were genuinely happy to take photos for us without any prompting. The flow of the buffet was perfect, and the food presentation was delightfully charming! There was a photo back drop available and the decor was so festive, and classy yet simple. The decor wasn't over the top , it was just the right amount of decorations to add pizzazz and celebrate with festive spirit. We all had a very enjoyable time celebrating Galentine's day! It was a wonderful event in an equally wonderful space. The music was on point, as well as the volume level. It was loud enough to enjoy the music, yet low enough that you could hold a conversation without screaming to hear each other. It was very peaceful and even if you don't choose a booth, the tables on the opposite side of the bar do provide some privacy due to the small partitions. The variety of food offered was just right (not overwhelmingly too many options and not too little options) and the food was tasty. It was an excellent first impression that left me excited to await what other fun events they will hold in the future.

Such a great variety. Fresh fruit of all kinds, french toast, waffles and chicken, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage , scrabbled eggs, quiche, house potatoes, deviled eggs, and a charcuterie board . On the sweet side they had mini cinnamon rolls, danish, brownies, cookies and cupcakes with the galentine theme. They had chocolate and chocolate covered strawberries with pretty pink food grade glitter. Plenty to choose from and plenty to eat. We loved it. In order to get into the speakeasy it is tickets only. It's the kind of establishment that understands both execution and consistency--two qualities that are increasingly rare and always appreciated. The shrimp and grits remains a signature highlight. Ambience: super cool, comfortable, a little dark, exposed brick walls with plaster patches, hardwood floors, heavy wood and leather furniture, incredible bar that is more like two bars in an L-shape with an unbelievable selection of anything you could ever want. This place is very solid feeling, you just feel safe and tucked in. Service: was fantastic, we met the executive chef named Ty who greeted us before we even sat down, just saw us sitting in the foyer bar and came over to say hello, very cool. We were greeted and seated by an absolute sweetheart upfront named Jackson and our server couldn't have been nicer, her name was Casey. Food: the food is all served tapas style, smaller plates, but well curated with interesting and innovative ingredients with beautiful presentation. Unfortunately, they were out-of four things that my wife wanted, she didn't want all of them simultaneously, she wanted one and they were out, and that happened three more times. Apparently, they often order in smaller batches and buy locally so sometimes they don't have as much as someplace buying in bulk, that's as much a positive as a negative, not a bad thing, just a bit of a bummer that she didn't get her first few choices. She ended up with the duck tacos which were good. We started with the brussels sprouts, which were also good and had nice presentation. We also started with bacon wrapped tots, the dish came with four of them and chili ketchup, beautifully presented, and rich, creamy, crunchy and yummy. I ordered the braised beef and fry bread and it was my favorite thing, very beefy flavored, warm and rich on soft pillowy fry bread with some cool crunch and crispy, thin plantain slices, very good. We started with a Chocolate Cherry Old Fashioned that was delicious. Overall the food was very good and the value was decent at around $12-$16 per plate. Overall: this was a really good experience and I'd go back to try some of the things they were out of and enjoy the incredible bar and stellar, considerate, thoughtful service. Definitely recommend!
