Virginia Beach Winery is not my typical winery as I'm use to visiting but definitely worth the visit. The winery had a vintage style. Maria the owner was such a doll. Wine is made on site in the distillery and she has been in business for 8 years. We visited on a Saturday and there was a couple of vendors on site selling merchandise. 5 bucks for 6 samples is definitely reasonable. We indulged in the fruit infused wines, draft wines and slushies. I must say the draft wines were delicious and I wished those were bottled so I could have brought them home. We were on a Filipino food crawl and needed a break and decided to stop in at the Winery. We love wineries and look for opportunities to visit new ones. We were the only patrons for much of our visit. My birthday daughter and I ordered wine sample flights and chatted up the owner. Wife shopped the gift area and picked out a nice bauble. The good: the owner was very engaging and told us about the wines (and wine slushies) they offer. We asked where the grapes came from and she explained that some came from Chile, some from California (I believe) and other places, and that she blends them here. (This would be expected with no attached vineyard.) The place was very clean, and the restrooms were easily accessible and spacious. The price of the flights was a mere $5 for six communion cup sized samples -- you choose 6 of I guess 12 - 15. Mulled wine is a welcome option on a winter day. The disappointing: While there is a good assortment of wines, and many were on the good side of okay, none stood out and said BUY A BOTTLE OF ME. The fruity sweet wines were VERY sweet, not really good for dessert wine or sipping. (Sorry.) But again, the reds especially were drinkable and pleasant. Verdict: a good stop if you need a break and a glass or two to go with your conversation. Just don't set expectations too high and you'll be fine. read more

Today I went to do there wine tasting which they offer 7 days a week there wine tasting from open to close there hours are 1-7pm for tasting and the average of tasting came out to $10 dollars where you can try both seasonal and non seasonal wines I try mainly there berry flavors with some classic two that stand out for me was there winter blue where the owner said that she normally makes during the winter but since it's highly requested she had it available now and that one was very blueberry forward with flavor and nice sweetness to it and perfect for cozy evening in. And the spiced apple had that nice apple crisp flavor with a warm sweetness to it. Took both of the bottles home she note that her wine is good for 2 years and she use less of sulfate that they use to persevered the wine to last longer which helps people who love to drink some wine but don't want the headache and has sensitivity to it. Which I love that cause you can't really find much wine like that. This a perfect spot to stop by and of course congrats on 8 years !and I will be back for their fall seasonal wine I heard they will have cranberry wine for thanksgiving if you swing by there. read more

The Virginia Beach Winery has been on my list of places to visit for quite some time so to end my boyfriend's birthday weekend, we decided to stop in and do some wine tasting. As soon as we walked in, we noticed a few vendors located all throughout the winery and were told that they were having a small event that day, which I thought was pretty cool. I loved how open the winery was and they even had a few table games. After we looked around at most of the vendors, we headed to the bar to start our $5 wine tasting. We both were able to choose 6 wines to taste from a list of 15 dry and sweet wines. We tried to choose different wines so that we could essentially try them all! I must say, there wasn't one that I didn't enjoy! I'm not a huge fan of dry wines but even those tasted great. In the midst of our tasting, the wonderful staff let us try the wine slushies as well! OMG, they were perfection!!! I literally could not stop drinking the Seniorita flavor! It was fantastic! Overall, my first time at this winery was a 10/10! The staff was outstanding! They chatted with us about the perks of the wine club, gave us some insight on all of the wines and were very friendly. We did end up purchasing the Princess Anne Pomegranate Wine. Great wine with some awesome Latin dancing on Thursday. They have a class before the actual dance starts so you can practice what you learned. Easy for beginners or if your never danced before. Ever since my last time coming to this winery, I ensure that I stop here when I visit Virginia Beach. This visit was interesting because they moved. They're in a larger space, have more wine options, and expanded their services. Parking is a lot easier at this location as well. The wine tasting experience is a vibe all by itself. If you love sweet wine, then this place is your jam. And by sweet, I mean REALLY sweet. I like sweet, but it's a bit much for me. I do like, though, that you can bring in your own food and they have board games you can play as well. I really like their wine slushies too. I always do the flights when I come here because why not. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The space is rather large, which is nice because they often have people inside selling trinkets and what not. Interesting location and concept but I like what you've done here! Not a traditional scenic vine and scenic winery, it was interesting to find this spot located it what looks like it used to be or could have been a motel in a past life. Immediately upon entry we were greeted and id'd. Pops was a trooper and offered to toast it up with me on this wine tasting. Thank goodness for my good good girlfriend who tagged me in a FB post because she knew I was in the area. Promoting a free wine tasting, how could I resist?? In my mind, wine is meant to be consumed in a glass so we opted for the $3 souvenir glass instead of the little plastic shot glass. With a choice of six tastes you could chose from a wide variety of reds and whites, sweets and dries. Not a super sweet fan I can recommend the Moscato, the Red Moscato and the Witchduck. The Reisling was on the drier side and bit as sweet as you would expect but it was still worthy of a try. They do give you bread and oil to nibble on while you taste. The bread was kicks in nature but imo did not compliment the wine as it should. Hence, I'd forgo and save the extra space in your tummy for wine. Staff was friendly and gave tid bits of knowledge along the way with each pour. Parking is dusty as the spaces are not paved. There are not many but treats rotation is frequent so spaces free up quickly. All wines are under $20 which is a plus if you find more than one that speaks to you. read more

I fully admit - I'm a wine snob and I tend to turn my nose at urban wineries that tend to have a heavy focus on sweeter wines. That said, I really enjoyed this visit. First off, this place is HARD TO FIND. My GPS took me on the road behind it, and I had to wander around until I found a very un-assuming office-looking room along a row of other office-looking rooms. But once I got inside, the servers were very welcoming and as people trickled in it seemed everyone was having a good time. The tasting is free, which might help. I'd describe the wines as 'fun'. Nothing you'd keep in the cellar, but good for casual drinking. I didn't think I would get anything but ended up with a bottle of 'Surfside Strawberry'. read more

Free Wine Tasting...Weekly - cheers to that! I visited this winery once and my first time was super! Free wine tasting is offered Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons into the evening. Maybe on Sunday's too, but you should call to double check. But those other days - go for it! This winery has been open for at least three months now, and the free wine tastings have been offered ever since! Talk about getting their name out there with FREE wine - I'm all for this exposure! The wine options pretty much cover everything from dry to semi sweet to sweet! I cannot recall my favorite, but the wine is definitely homemade as the owner, Maria explained their process as we were blessed to be the only patrons in the winery at the time. I am not a wine specialist but I like quality everything and in my option - quality is here! The owners seem passionate about their craft as well too! The owners Maria and Josh have a Facebook page and they update it quite frequently and I love it! Check it out - very informative! The owners seem super down to Earth and they are definitely eager to grow their clientele. I have even been in talks of hosting a wine party here and Josh and Maria thoroughly explained the process from start to finish. They are young business owners, but I am sold on their vision - they are destined for greatness. If you visit during the free wine tasting be mindful because this spot can fill up quickly, because it's not a huge establish. It's a cozy/make yourself at home type of vibe here. But luckily the day we visited, there were only two ladies ahead of us. As a result, Josh made our tasting super interesting by answering our many questions and interacting with us as we sampled each of the wines. So they give you an option to sample four (per person) of the maybe 10 wine selections. But the key is to go with a friend or two and you all sample them all by sharing a taste or two among yourselves. But if you don't want to drink after each other just visit on another day to sample the wines you didn't get to sample the afternoon before. Again, I visited during the month of December and it was decorated beautifully with Christmas decor. Also at the time, cute holiday glasses were for sale and I bought a red and green glass... and you can very well bring them back for future tastings instead of using the plastic cups they provide at no cost. I think we were offered crackers or cheese too...but we opted out. The wines are under $20 and I am sure you will find something to tickle your fancy. But if not for you, a friend! I purchase the apple wine (seasonal I believe) and it was already chilled. Super yummy! Parking is available right in front of the door - a gravel parking lot. It's super small, but if you get there ahead of the crowd no worries. The winery is minutes from I264 and it's not too hard to find, but you definitely want to keep a close eye on the location cause one could very well miss it. Children are welcomed, but keep in mind this is still a winery business and you should watch your child/children at all times. This is a cute little spot. I will say it was hard to find at night because it is behind a gas station in shopping strip, but at night it looks a little abandoned. It is a small shop, I had a reservation($6 to reserve a table of 4), and it is best to have a reservation. There were only three table with 2 to 4 chairs at each table. Now for the good stuff. They do free wine samples of 6 different wines (but is it really free if you pay for a reservation, it's still worth it in my opinion). They are small cups maybe one ounce each. The night I went, they only had 5 available so I was able to have a second of another one I liked; however, she said at times, they have 10+ you can sample from (dry or sweet of course). They change their samples every so often. All the wines are handcrafted. The wines that you sample are available for purchase. However, if you just want to buy wine, you don't need a reservation, you can go in and buy the wine. I hope they continue to grow their business. This has great potential! read more

This winery is located in a shopping plaza and can be hard to find but it's there. We made a reservation but they overbooked so we opted to walk in since the place had great reviews. They do walks in at the half hour and reservations for $3 at the hour. The tastings last 30 minutes. The place is pretty small, only 2 tables for tastings. Most of their popular wines are sweet and they have unique flavors like peach, mango, and pomegranate. During the tasting, you can try 6 wines. I wish they provided water because after the third tasting, they all started tasting the same and I couldn't really get a feel for the different flavors. The service was okay. This is located in a very unexpected plaza that looks like a converted motel. I initially thought I was in the wrong place when looking for it! Upon entering, the place is quite small. We were greeted right away by 2 very friendly girls behind the sample booth, and the environment felt very welcoming. One glance around and you can pretty much see all the place had to offer. The girl behind the counter explained how the samples worked, and introduced the wines available for the day. There is a limit of 6 tastings per person, with 11 varieties on the menu, not including the wine slush they had available. Since we had 2 people in our party, we decided to taste all of them. I believe the summertime one was the one that interested me the most... Great for a hot summer day! The slush ended up being great for the hot day, and we bought a bag of the mix to share with our parents. Overall, great service, some good wines though they were a bit on the pricier side. Free wine?? I'll take it!! My few of my cousins came down from N.C. to visit and I thought this would be something fun for us to do. My advice would be to get there early. We went on a Friday night around 7pm. It was pretty packed. There was 8 in our party so we decided to stand off to the side until we all would be able to fit at the bar. They make their wines in house and there were quite a few to choose from. Once we all got seated we started our tasting. They gave us bread and we sampled about 7 different wines. You could either use a plastic cup for free or purchase a wine glass for $3. The two ladies were very sweet and helpful. I ended up purchasing the strawberry glitter wine. It literally has edible sparkles in it! It so pretty I don't want to drink it. They feature different wines each week so my sister and I will probably go back to try the peach wine. They have a very small location. I made a reservation the night before but received a text the next morning that they do in or booked and that my appointment had been cancelled. I called when they opened to see my options. I was told I could come and try to get one of the half hour spots but that they could not accommodate me for the cancelled reservation. We got there and the 3 tables they had were full. We were told if we wanted the next spot in an hour we could stay in the car and wait or come back and chance being able to get in at that time. We waited in the car until our reservation. They still didn't have a table so we tasted at the bar. It was a very quick tasting. There were little shot cups of each wine to taste. The person helping us didn't know anything about the wines other than the names and that they were made there. The wines were pretty good, but there's nothing to clear your palate between tastings so it's hard to distinguish after a while. You can only taste in those shot cups. You cannot get a glass if you like any of them, only buy a bottle. They said they will be moving to Lenhaven or something like that soon that will be a lot bigger. I may try again to see if the experience is any better the next time I'm in Va. read more

One may say I'm alittle addicted to their wines, so I've been there more then once. Consistently great service from their entire staff. We attended a free tasting at this location and were very pleased with the variety! They offered the purchase of stemless souvenir glasses for $3 or tasting with small disposable cups. We bought the glasses and I believe the pours were a bit heavier. The wines were amazing for the real wine connoisseurs, there were a couple that even the non-wine drinkers enjoyed! On regular evenings, people buy bottles of wine and open them to enjoy at the bar with bread and olive oil. The environment is very friendly. They brew all the wine there.
