First, the girls at the bar are very sweet and efficient . The young hostess at the entrance seemed a little bewildered. There really is no ambiance in the place. The main room appears to look sterile. The waitress, in her casuals, was very efficient. The fried pickles contained too much oil. The Prime Rib Thursday is really nothing to write home about. The meat doesn't even look like a prime rib, but it was tasty. It is certainly not worth the $21 charge. My mashed potatoes were "stone" cold and the gravy was brought in a plastic container. It does get very crowded toward the seven o'clock music time and the parking lot really fills up. This is a place where people can go after work in their casual clothes. The bartender girl with all the tattoos certainly can't mix a gimlet, old fashion or a manhattan without checking her phone for a long time and still the drinks were not made right. Was overnight in the area, getting ready to work with Scouts at Camp Bud Schiele. Needed to have dinner and the Holiday Inn Express recommended. Sure am glad I came. A huge building, ware house like, massive parking lot full of cars. Made me wonder if I was in the right place and if I had made the right choice. I got them both right. Inside is pretty plain. Tables and booths are all over in this very large, jam-packed eatery. I sat at the bar. Nicest people on both sides of me and Chris G. was the bartender and she took good care of me. Ordered a Manhattan ($6) and settled on a ribeye steak ($18.99), potato salad and salad with ranch. I mention the salad dressing since I had to pay $1 for the ranch dressing. I thought that pretty high price, especially at a local bar, so my expectations were low as I waited. The steak came and it was perfectly done to my order. Surprised, I cut into the meat and nearly staggered off of my chair. It was wonderful! Tender and very tasty...like a good steak should be. There was nothing left on my plate, which I nearly licked clean along with a second Manhattan. All the while there was continual dialogue with my bar mates and bar tender. Very friendly and left full, happy and pleased. Excellent place for families. My guess is that you will need reservations, esp on weekends. read more

The wife and I stopped here after the Food, Art and Brew Festival and were glad we did! They are dog friendly, we had our chihuahua in her stroller with us, and accommodating her with a pup cup of water. I had the black and bleu ribeye, baked potato and broccoli and the wife had the French dip and fries. The ribeye was so delicious, cooked the rare that I asked, flavorful and very well seasoned. The baked potato was baked completely and filled with butter and sour cream and somebody in the kitchen actually cut the broccoli fresh instead of dumping broccoli pieces and stems from a bag. The wife loved her sandwich. The sweet tea is that syrupy southern sweet tea that we can't find up here in Cincinnati and they kept my cup full and my wife enjoyed the two local beers she had. So glad we stumbled into the joint and recommend you do the same! read more

After moving a family member across town we were really tired and hungry. One of the closest spots was the CPG. Cool exterior/interior and friendly staff. Two of us got tacos (shrimp and pulled pork) Both were huge servings- like enough for three people! I got the Philly cheesesteak which was tasty. From the variety of delicious soups, salads (The Rutherford is a personal favorite), excellent pasta dishes, sandwiches and burgers coupled with delicious sweet potato fries, many more options. With the exception of one server, of all the meals we have had, the servers were pleasant and quick to make a recommendation when asked. The ambiance is casual, making everyone comfortable including your four legged fur~babies who are welcomed in the outdoor dining area. Copper Penny is another one of those places that I've had bookmarked for two years and finally got to visit. So glad I did! From the outside, the building is massive and looks like an old multiple bay garage or wood mill. The restaurant is divided in three sections - the main dining room, the bar area/secondary dining room and a spacious outdoor patio. Jayme who was not only bartending but waiting tables was really on her game - it's been quite some time since I've had a waitress that good and it was refreshing. The tap list had some great beer choices with fair prices. They were also running a "kick the keg" special on a seasonal beer, Sam Adams Summer Ale for only $2 a pint. My wife ordered a Southern Hurricane (only $5!) - I stole a few sips and it was soooo very good. Our appetizer - fried pickles - came out quickly and disappeared just as quickly into our mouths. The kids meal sliders came with bacon, cheese and onions + your choice of a side and drink. The little lady had the wings, which she said were awesome. I had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with house made potato chips. Before ordering it, I asked if they breaded their own chicken breasts - the answer was "yes".
