We haven't been here in awhile but we stopped because we wanted to have steak. Have to say the steak was delicious, cooked exactly as we wanted them. The waitress was very nice too. Checked back numerous times. Over all we enjoyed the service and sitting outside on the patio. We were the only ones out there. Pet friendly too if you bring your dog they will give you a water dish for them. Next time we get a steak craving we will for sure go back here. Check them out! read more

I had their Big Samantha sandwich, ( a club sandwich with red onion, lettuce, tomato,cheese & pickle slices on Texas Toast) and fries. The sandwich contained all of the listed requirements of a club sandwich but was poorly prepared. Large slices of red onion, too many pickles and turkey that seemed straight out of a deli package made the sandwich bland and soul-less with no thought to its assembly. The fries were tasteful and the better of the two items served. The lack of timely service and the lack of overall ambiance in the restaurant made.this a less than ideal experience. Two sided laminated menu for pricey & not so pricey. Arriving in the parking lot drew me in because you can smell the grill. I had the cheddar cheese hamburger with a side of grilled asparagus. Can't believe I ate everything. My partner had steak tacos with fries. No complaints there! We truly enjoyed our lunch and will be back soon. I'm shocked I haven't done a review before this. I've been here a few times already. I've never had a bad meal here but I've heard from friends they had a bad experience. They do some foods very, very good and some not so much. My wife enjoys the Catfish plate but tonight is Thursday and it's .50 cent wing night. Wings are great, not too Smokey and the sauces are good. I'm getting the Cubano sandwich, one of my favorites. Place is usually busy and sometimes there's a wait. We'll foods here so.... A friend and myself met at the hoot nanny restaurant in downtown Forest city today. We had been there several years ago and enjoyed it so much that we wanted to meet there again. I ordered a Smokehouse Cuban sandwich, with their homemade chips, absolutely amazing!! The sandwich was made with delicious smoked ham on Swiss with mustard and homemade pork loin with dill pickles pressed in a nice bun. Went here for the first time today. We have previously avoided the Hoot Nannie because of some negative Yelp reviews. Boy, was that a mistake! I had the smashed Double Bacon Cheeseburger with chips, and it was amazing. My wife had the the BBQ fries as a meal, and it was awesome as well! We started with the Cheese Curds, and they may have been the best I've ever had. We took 1/2 of all 3 home and reheated them for dinner. The food reheated excellently. Service was a little slow, but they were very busy, so it is what it is. Worth the wait for sure! We will be going back for sure! read more

Wing night is nice because it's cheap, but the usual price for these...crazy! Don't do it. If you really need to check them out, wait until it's crazy discounted. The wait is crazy. The environment is 100% lacking anything...welcoming, unique, inviting..etc. Unless you're sloshed...and we weren't. The cheese curds are so good. They'd have to save the entire experience. The wings...chewy. Dry. Give you the frozen feel. Simply not worth it. Not worth the trip, the time, or even the money at fifty cents a wing. I rather cook at home and actually enjoy it. Ok where do I start? Our first time here. Waitress had no idea how to tell us what IPAs were on tap and had to just show us her electronic tablet. We ordered steak. The husband ordered 10oz Strip medium rare and I ordered the filet medium. We both ordered baked potatoes and were told that she thought they were out. We should have asked her to check but being as she was the waitress and privy to more information we took her at her word. Bad mistake. Several tables ordered after us and potatoes were delivered piping hot. Husband's steak was rare but as it rested came to a reasonable medium rare and was juicy. My filet was barely any pink at all, not a drop of juice and had zero flavor. And it was double the price of his steak. Waitress stopped by maybe 3 times total after our order was placed and one of those was to deliver food. The bill before tip was $95. Very high priced for just meh food. Also we had to wait 10 minutes after our salads were delivered before she came back around so we could ask for a knife. The salad was just too much to manage with just a fork. Out of their control was the crying kids at one table and the other table with one just running around unattended happy but squealing. I gave it a 2 instead of 1 because the cheese curds were a great appetizer. Thank goodness because my steak went home as dog scraps. I always give a place a second chance but I'll make it lunch on a smaller ticket I hope. Just in case. Atmosphere didn't match the price. The price didn't match the quality. This is the best food I have had since I came back to the Carolina's. Tart fried pickles, BBQ sauce house made with just the right amount of tang and a perfectly cooked steak! 45 minute wait for 5 to be seated on a Thursday night in Christmas lights season. No problem, we could walk around town while we waited. After we were sat, nobody spoke to us for about 15 minutes. They did seem very busy. The waitress seemed surprised when she finally did stop at our table that nobody had even taken our drink order. We got a fried pickle app which was good. I ordered the duke with chips. The burger was really well done to the point of charred even though I had ordered medium well. Overall the burger had a good flavor though. My chips were cold and basically inedible. Very tough to bite into. I tried some other plates fries and they were good. They gave big portions of fries; nobody could eat them all! They have a lot going for them here, but they need to improve on their service and some food quality issues. The fries tasted like they were fried in oil that hasn't been filtered in a week and they were cold and soggy. The Mac and cheese looked like it had been under a heat lamp for an hour and had absolutely no flavor at all.
