The prices on all boxes and packs are high and there are not any "cheaper" bins for my kid to go through to pick out cards she finds cool. The kid at the counter was very friendly and clearly willing to work out deals on higher end stuff and again, may create a great experience with someone in the business of cards, but if my kid wasn't getting anything, I wasn't either.
