I recently visited Copper State Tattoo to get another tattoo from the greatest tattoo artist in Arizona, Mr. Ivan Lopez. He has done all of my tattoos over the past 7 years, 2 sleeves and a full chest piece. His designs are always amazing and I get so many compliments on my tattoos! I will not go to anyone else for a tattoo. If you are considering getting a tattoo, Ivan is your only choice! He can do pretty much any style and subject, and better and faster than anyone else!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Felix is absolutely amazing. Both my husband and I love the artwork he has done for us. He really listened to what we wanted in our tattoos and what he has created blew us away. Felix is always friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and professional. His work is clean, bold and beautifully unique. The studio is comfortable and clean. I am plus sized / non binary and I have never felt so comfortable at a tattoo shop before. The walls are filled with beautiful artwork from all of the staff. All artists are always friendly and hyping each other up over their amazing tattoos. Love the environment each time we come here. We will definitely be back for more tattoos from Felix in the near future.

My tattoo isn't healed yet but I couldn't wait to post a photo and review because of how happy I am. I provided Ana with one photo and she drew exactly what I had hoped for in a minimalist piece. The shop was clean and a comfortable atmosphere and I felt very comfortable working with Ana. I would definitely recommend her and would come back for more work with her!

Alex is an extremely professional and respectful traditional tattoo artist. He doesn't do this just as a side job to make money, this guy is seriously dedicated and studied this type of work to the point where he went to Japan to be trained properly. This is just a start to a full sleeve and I feel so lucky to have found him. He does his best to make sure you're comfortable, not just him but even the rest of the staff are extremely friendly and supportive. 10/10, Five stars out of five, how ever you want to word it he is the best guy to have especially if you're wanting a traditional style tattoo.

Great looking shop, great people and great work! I got a piece done here almost 2 weeks ago and it was an awesome experience. The artist that worked on my design was Stephen Huntt, really cool guy and does great work. I walked in with no appointment just an idea and in under 3 hours I was in and out, he drew up the design went over it to make sure it was exactly what I wanted and made it happen... Nice people and good environment, real comfortable for a first time experience

Stephen and Alex are extremely amazing at what they do! Everytime I go in to get some amazing free hand art done on me, Stephen makes me feel welcome and at home...and his artwork is on point! I get nothing but compliments on my PHOENIX Rising back piece, as well as my biomechanical leg piece. I keep coming back for more work for a reason- because it is well worth every penny to have a artistic masterpiece on your body! I urge everybody interested in finding a tattoo artist, to go and speak with Stephen over at Copper State!!

Jake Imler, just one of the amazing artists at Copper State Tattoo. I gave him an idea and he created this.

This isn't your typical male ego driven shop, these are guys that love tattooing and are passionate about creating great art. You will witness a group of people that work amazingly well together and only want to see each other succeed. What this means is that for you, as the customer, you will feel at ease and secure that you are in capable hands. I have walked into many tattoo shops and have walked right back out just because the atmosphere is not one that I would want to be in during such a vulnerable time. Between the laid back atmosphere and amazing artists, this is just an undiscovered gem of a shop. I have spent countless hours being tattooed by Alex Empty, since we are working on a half body suit, and have come to look forward to my time on his table. I would not trust anyone with this much of my skin as I have come to trust Alex. Amazing as Alex is, I now want something from each of the artists in the shop. Everyone there is friendly, welcoming and extremely talented.

I absolutely love Copper State. So far, I've had two pieces done by Alex. There is no one I trust more. These guys are incredibly down to earth with a passion for the craft. They believe in creating quality work that lasts. They really know how to position tattoos in ways that they will not distort as the body moves naturally. They are incredibly clean and professional artists. For my latest piece, I wanted something that reminded me of home. I told Alex the basic concept of what I was looking for. He drew up a quick sketch that really tied everything together in a way that far exceeded my expectations. I could not be happier with how it turned out. I knew I could trust Alex to create something incredible based on such a simple concept. The shop can be tricky to find that first time, but it's on the corner of Osborn and 7th Ave in a little strip of businesses behind a Cricket store and a Mexican restaurant.

We walked in to Copper State and received amazing customer service and fantastic tattoos! I was lucky enough to have Andrew Work on me, and he was the best. Very clean lines and worked quickly! Thank you all so much for doing our Best Friend tattoos and my survivor tattoo!

Prior to going, I thought to myself: what can possibly make this weekly event so amazing. I thought I would be underwhelmed, Boy, was I wrong! I checked out the Art Walk for the first time in February. It took me a little while to find parking. Scottsdale has plenty of free street parking (which I always appreciate), including surface lots, but this is a popular event. After circling around for a few minutes, I was able to find a spot. In my opinion, here's the best way to enjoy the experience...have it come to you organically. Which is tough to say coming from someone who is a planner. Just walk around and walk into any and all of the art galleries that seem interesting to you. Of course, you can visit all of these galleries outside of the Scottsdale Art Walk. What makes this experience different is that rather than closing around 5 p.m., they keep their doors open late. Many of them will also offer complimentary drinks including wine, champagne, and cocktails. Awesome! With it being Scottsdale, you'll see a focus on Western and Native American art. That is not by any means the extent of what you'll find though. Some art galleries specialize in other styles of painting including surrealism, abstract art, French impressionism, or pointillism. Are y'all impressed with my knowledge of art? All of the art books I read when I was a kid are coming in clutch now. The art is generally quite expensive so I didn't buy anything but I still very much enjoyed the experience. You're also likely to find entertainment on the streets e.g. musicians and street performers. My favorite of the bunch I saw was a Native American performance. There are also Gold Palette Walks which are special versions of the weekly Scottsdale Art Walk. I haven't been to one of these, so I can't touch on how they compare, but I would like to at some point. I feel like a Scottsdale Art Walk is an experience all locals should check out at some point!
