It was his first time trying jambalaya and he's pretty picky so I was a little worried but he loved it! I loved my pesto and so did he. There's an awesome appetizer selection as well. Took my friend out for her bday. She wanted to try this place out. When we went in, was a few people. She automatically wanted to leave and go to TPhillips cuz it was "dead". I had a bad experience with TPhillips so I convinced her to stay. This place has a bar right smack in the middle. Tables are lined on the perimeter of the place. All the booths on one side of the restaurant. The rest were chairs. A few two seater tables are between the windows. Food is nicely priced. Doesn't break the bank. They no longer have the steak plate. Wasn't much to choose from after that, just appetizers, burger/sandwich, pizzas, and pasta. 5-10 different choices in each category. BUT.... the items we chose were YUMMY! For appetizer, we got the pretzel and brats ($10). Huge size pretzel with a sliced link of brats. For that size pretzel you need more mustard and cheese! Pretzel was soft on the inside, crispy outside and easy to cut or pull apart. I didn't get a picture cuz we were stuffing our mouths as we talked. Main dishes, my friend got fish n chips with coleslaw. I don't know how that tasted, but she ate everything! The tartar sauce, was not tartar sauce. Was like watery ranch with dill or parIsley? I got the BBQ cheeseburger ($11) comes with fries or a salad. Fries were skinny and nice n crispy! Just the way I like them! I had so much carbs that i didn't even eat my burger. Looks gorgeous, though!! As for service... EXCELLENT! Didn't get his name, but very attentive!! Always refilled our soda/ice tea. That's really important! Came as a recco from our dentist's office for some local eats. Nice newish place and we arrive just after peak lunch hour so it was pretty quiet. Menu looked interesting in that basic bar type of offerings for food that would accompany drinks well. She selected the fish chips with sweet potato fries and I had their Copper burger. The fish chips are good, not wowing in any particular way. Not sure if we'd say at that frozen level fish chips box stuff. She felt a bit wanting for some plump nicely battered fish and these didn't quite meet that expectation. The sweet potato fries were good. Tarter sauce was very tasty, they did that one nicely! The coleslaw was over spiced-hot with cayenne pepper or some similar pepper. The burger was good. The thousand island dressing bit salt forward and when they salt the burger too, I didn't get much beef taste. The brioche bun I liked and the fries are common so not wowing there. Plated nicely so the presentation was nice to snap a picture of. The overall taste seemed pretty mainstream. The overall price for a meal was appealing and just right. My husband and I went to copper still grill today. I would say my experience was really good I so badly wanted to give them a 5 based on effort, service, ambiance etc but only because of the food did I give them a 4 . Don't get me wrong the food was not bad but I'll explain why we're stuck at 4 stars. I ordered sweet potatoe fries ans when they arrived they were covered in sugar . I think they took the sweet part literally but it was definitely excessive and not desired so I sat there and (to the best of my ability) dusted the sugar off of each and every single one but outside of the sugar the sweet potatoe fries were really good and perfectly cooked and their ranch is very unique and refreshing (I can be a bit of a ranch snob so I was I was pleasantly surprised to like it).The 2nd thing I ordered were the veggie potstickers, I would describe these as edible and I did finish them but I couldn't tell what veggies were used and they were pretty bland if it weren't for the dipping sauce. My husband ordered the onion rings which were great and also a jambalaya. I'm accustomed to jambalaya being a rice dish but their jambalaya was more of a soup with rice in it very very liquidy more like a stew than a rice dish, I didn't taste it , it might have been tasty but since it wasn't what my husband was expecting he told them he didn't like it and ordered the nachos instead which were super delicious. We were prepared to pay for the jambalaya but were pleasantly surprised when it was not on the bill. I was overall really pleased with this place and would 100% return. I loved the service and how they run the operation, I like the setup and decor it's a very cool spot. I also like how they handled the jambalaya situation. We also got a spicy chicken sandwich which ended up being a non spicy kids chicken tender on a HOTDOG bun with a slice of pickle. I laughed when they handed me the plate. Fries were decent. Came here a few days ago, feel so bad for forgetting to snap pics but boyfriend got the marinated chicken dish, which the bartender recommended. GREAT SUGGESTION! The dish had such a decliciously seared chicken beast, juicy all the way through; buttery mash and light but pleasant veggies! I got the copper still burger which was also very good but that dam chicken breast was so tasty and also topped with gravy. Couldn't help but ask for extra gravy. That marinated chicken stole the show! We also had the buffalo cauliflower, crispy and tangy, yum. Service was good as always. This place is run like a well oiled machine...nearly every employee had come to our table at point (bring drinks, the appetizer, entrees, the ketchup I forgot to ask for, to ask if we needed anything and to bring the check!) You never feel forgotten here, and my husband and I really appreciated this amazing customer service I had the fish & chips...realllly good. This place is amazing. My roommates and I would go here throughout our time at college and every time we always felt welcome and loved it. The food is super reasonably priced which is great for college students. Also there's so many gluten free options! One of my roommates is gluten free and it's one of the only dinner places she could pretty much eat the majority of what was on the menu. Copper still is also just such a welcoming restaurant you really feel like you're welcome. We graduated and don't get to anymore but had so many great memories here ! Would loved to have been able to comment on their food but that was not to be the case tonight. Stopped by to have dinner after work. There were a few tables with people seated and eating as well as a couple of guys at the bar not too busy though for 7pm on a Thursday. Walked in and waited to be seated. The two people working the bar seemed very intent on their cell phones. Waited long enough to go over the entire menu and still no one acknowledged a customer had walked in. Waited a few minutes more, still no one came to seat me. Would have liked to have tried their food but their staff seemed more interested in their phones instead of serving customers. I have been there about 10 times over the last couple years. Great food, great selection, great service, and great atmosphere. A few months ago, my sister and I decided to get a drink at Copper Still while we waited for our take out from the Thai place next door. They had very good happy hour ($5 beers and wine, $3 sliders), the place was very inviting and the servers were friendly. Since then, I have been taking friends and family whenever I can. Each time, we've had a great time. You cannot beat the prices, and while other places have had to raise their prices (which is totally understandable), Copper Still has kept theirs reasonable while maintaining high quality in their ingredients and service. My bf always orders the Jambalaya that comes with chicken, sausage and shrimp for about $12. It is also pet friendly as I've seen people bringing in their dogs, big and small. read more

Sat at the bar at 2:41. 3:51 a bartender took my order, a beer. 3:02 the bartender asked if I'd like order from the menu, I ordered jalapeño poppers. Appetizers came at 3:22. Too long, I sent em back, asked for my bill. The bartender apologized and paid my bill. The place open air and chill but service is slow. My wife and I have been here twice and so far we have not been disappointed. The service has been very good and the manager, Steve, is super friendly and freely makes recommendations. The happy hour is wonderful. Generous portions. My wife loves the Mojitos and it's served in a full pint glass...for $6 its a great deal. Beer choices are good too. We especially like that they will split a meal. After an appetizer or two, splitting a burger was the suggestion of Steve and they served the split meal on two plates...with separate salads as well. Service was good, but I left disappointed and unsatisfied. My date and I wanted to try something different and haven't tried this place yet. I've passed by it a few times and was curious so I suggested we could try it out. My first impression was about how spacious it was inside. It's a beautiful space, reminded me a little of the Winchester house (the haunted one with all the stairs and doors that lead no where). I'll explain this later. My date ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and I ordered the chicken pot pie. And a pretzel with brats to start. The pretzel was great. It came with 5 pieces of brats (though I've seen it come with 6 in the other photos. But I'm not going to make a fuss about one piece of brat). That in itself could have been a meal. It was huge. Then came our main entrees. The sandwich my date ordered looked good. I was impressed with the quantity so far. Pretty good deals as everything is just under the 10 dollar mark. My pot pie came out soon after. I served up a piece for my date to try and proceeded to have a taste for myself only to be slightly disgusted. It was hardly warm. I chewed the rubbery chicken and swallowed it before I warned my date about it's temperature. I carefully packed the piece I served back into the tray. I asked the server if they'd reheat the pie, mentioning that the center was cold. She apologized sincerely and had that taken care of for me. About 10 minutes later, my pie returned, piping hot. I can tell they just threw it in a microwave, but I wasn't expecting anything more. But back to the space. The floor plan seems like it's designed around the bar. Literally the bar is in the middle of the whole bottom floor, which makes it kind of awkward to interact with the staff. When first entering, we had to walk around the bar to find a staff member to be seated. And while I was trying to wave a server down to help with my order, I noticed the problem with their floor plan, as their server station was behind the bar, making it difficult to really monitor their guests. The floors are uneven and the bathroom is really small. There was literally 2 urinals, a toilet stall and a sink within 6 sq ft.. if you're a guy, go check it out. You'll see why is awkward. Great service. But I think they have some room to improve on their operations in the kitchen. read more

Copper still is the new kid on the block. So I was a little hesitant to go there but figured we'd give it a shot anyway. The menu was brief but read terrific. I'm glad I took the chance because it turned out excellent. We ordered off the appetizer menu. Chicken strips and onion rings, Bavarian pretzel and sausage. The chicken and onion rings both were perfectly breaded and cooked just right. The chicken was juicy and the onion rings were sweet and had just a hint of firmness when biting into them. The pretzel was huge, with a nice chewy crust and tender inside. The sausage was juicy and had a great ale and onion flavor to it. The cheese sauce could have been better but the mustard was on point. This is definitely a place I'll come back to again. The wait staff was polite despite it being busy. However they weren't exactly Johnny on the spot so I had to wait longer than I would have liked. However that's relatively minor in the over all experience. If your in old town and looking for a new spot I highly recommend Copper Still Grill. read more

I just moved to Monrovia, but have been in Pasadena for a long time so I am familiar with Monrovia. I love the small town vibe and the Friday farmers market is why I came downtown tonight. This is my first time in Copper Still Grill and we came in because the baseball game was on. First impressions: the place is colorful and well decorated. We were told to seat ourselves which was great since the place was crowded but tables were still available. Then we looked at the menu and found it to be surprisingly long with lots of options. We started with drinks, I got a glass of the Red Blend from Lodi which was surprisingly good for $6 a glass. My boyfriend got a beer on tap for $5 which is also a great price for the area. Now for dinner, I got a pizza for $11 and went home with leftovers. It's not the best pizza ever, but it was fine and I liked the thin crust. My boyfriend got the chicken skewers which were also really inexpensive. Came back here a second time and the waitress was great. Food came out fast and hot. This is absolutely unfortunate that I've had to change this. But the last three times we have been have been absolutely awful. The last time we went was moderately busy and we were seated and waited over 15 minutes and no one even acknowledged us. The time before that was the same thing, but after that time they finally helped us but it was so beyond slow and the food was just mediocre. The time prior it took a long time, but they were doing okay...but ended up totally forgetting two meals (we had 8 people), so by the time they both got their food, we had finished ours and again, food was mediocre. The last time after waiting 15 minutes without so much of a glance toward us, we got up and left.Y boyfriend addressed them and the guy said sorry, it's just they are kinda busy (they had a half full bar area and maybe 8 tables and 5 people serving (including the servers at the bar)). Just went here for drinks with my boyfriend & his friends. The experience was fine until a random drunk woman came to every table (including ours) to harass and threaten us. She was obviously belligerent and kept asking us how long we'd been sitting at our table (more than an hour) and where we all lived. She kept accusing us of taking her table even though the staff had been waiting on us for an hour. My bf and I are asian and she called us "f**king chinese" and threatened to call her "people" to jump us if we didn't leave. The staff knew she was harassing us and did nothing. As a former server myself, this is inexcusable. You don't let intoxicated people harass or even threaten your customers. Please do better. read more
