Chicken burnt ends

This was our first stop after we landed in Bozeman - right as they opened. We sat at the bar and our bartender gave us lots of recommendations with the menu and other local spots. My husband had the bison meatloaf which was honestly the best meatloaf either of us have ever had! We had the fried pickles for an appetizer and WHOA! Those sweet garlic pickles were sooo good! We actually got lucky and met the owner of the pickles place at the Big Sky Farmers Market! A must visit! Great vibes & great food!

We had a celebratory meal for MSU graduation here and we regretted it being our first time. This was my favorite restaurant I've been to in Bozeman in the last four years spent visiting. Such a classic, yet creative menu that made for such a fun experience. They have an amazing happy hour deal on drinks and appetizers - stop in next time and get a taste of what they're up to!

AWESOME happy hour on Main Street Bozeman, MT you don't want to miss. The Huckleberry Martini was fantastic with a nice taste profile from the adding rosemary & lemon. You won't regret it! My favorite app we ordered were the pretzel bites with the jalapeno beer cheese. Truly excellent! Tried the fried pickles, tomato burrata, pork belly tacos, and truffle fries. Copper fry sauce that came with the fries was perfect. Very happy with the HH and would love to try dinner next time I'm back!

Bison Meatloaf

Fantastic service, top notch aesthetic. The vibes in this place are sick as hell. Most importantly, the food was crazy good. I got the Bison Meatloaf, and it was the best meatloaf I've ever had. The mustard Demi glaze was flavorful and brought out the best in the meat. The potatoes and green beans were great too. Zero bad notes, guys. Really happy with this visit. I'll be returning.

Short rib with huckleberry reduction sauce, potatoes and broccolini.

I was in Bozeman for work and Copper Whiskey came highly recommended. Our server recommended the Huckleberry Spiced Margarita (delish) and flash fried Brussels with fig and crème fraiche. For dinner I had the special which was short ribs with a huckleberry sauce, served with potatoes and broccolini. The short ribs literally fell off the bone and the steak knife wasn't needed. Highly recommended. The basement/speakeasy vibe was cool and several locals were dining beside me (good sign!). If you are headed to Big Sky country definitely put Copper Whiskey on your restaurant list. (There are many excellent options!)

Fat and small amount of gristle

Service was good if not especially friendly. Hubby ordered a smoked maple old fashioned ($19). It was fine. I had a canned cider ($6). We ordered salads ($2 up charge each as they were a sub for grilled vegetables). Not nearly enough dressing for such a large salad and I never drown mine in dressing. Hubby asked for more, I did not. They were very fresh and very large. We ordered 16 oz. Ribeyes medium and they were cooked correctly. Baked potatoes are a $2 up charge. We went with the mashed potatoes at no extra charge. Even though the potatoes and steak were delicious, everything was too salty. Just too much. Hubby loves salt and he agreed. Still, we ate them and did not complain as they somehow still managed to be delicious. Each of our 16 oz. Steaks ($60 each) were 4 ounces of fat, which seemed like a bit much to us. We love ribeyes know ribeyes contain fat but this seemed excessive. We were charged for using our card which is pretty standard nowadays. Total for meal, including just over 20% tip, was $180. Picture is of the fat from the steak with the small amount of gristle.

This Downtown Bozeman spot checks all the boxes for a 5-Star Experience. From the speakeasy vibe when you walk in, to the service, and the food, this spot is a must if you're in Bozeman. We wanted a spot to go grab a good steak and celebrate while in town. Copper was one of the first places to pop up in suggestions. We walked in and they had a booth that lined up perfectly so I could still watch Monday Night Football while also enjoying my meal. I got the NY Strip with mashed potatoes and veggies. The steak was cooked perfectly. I am a medium kind of guy when it comes to steak and was very happy with it. It had mushrooms, onions, and butter on top to give it even more flavor. The potatoes were amazing too. Definitely had that homemade feel. We also got the cornbread and brussel sprouts for apps which were both really good. Probably one of the best cornbreads I have ever had in my life. We finished up the meal with their hibiscus cheesecake tart. It was small but after a huge meal, it was just the right size. Very rich in flavor and the perfect way to end the experience. This is a phenomenal spot if you're downtown and I will definitely be back during my next trip.

Steelhead Trout

SO FREAKING GOOD! I came across Copper while walking around Bozeman and decided to try it out for their happy hour (3-5pm). It's a dimly lit, underground space with a huge whiskey selection. Their happy hour pricing on drinks were great ($5 house wine, $5+ beer, $5 select cocktails, etc.). The bartenders were great and kept us well taken care of! After a couple of drinks, I decided to get food. I ordered the Steelhead Trout which is bbq crusted and comes with smoked gouda creamed corn and broccolini. This was by far the best meal I had on my vacation. The only disappointment was that wasn't hungry enough to order more food.

Copper Burger and Fries

Got in at opening. Quite possibly the best tasting burger of my life. Very rich beef taste. Prices as expected. Service above average. Accommodated dietary needs. Beautiful decor. There is an elevator if you can't do stairs. It's a little hidden though.

Is there a corkage fee if we bring in our own bottle of wine?

Hi Kristine! Our policy does not allow any outside wine to be opened and served on site. Feel free to check out our complete wine & beverage list at: https://app.uncorkd.biz/widget/new_widget.html?venue=copperbozeman

I see the Shiracha Margarita, do you also have other specialty margaritas? If not, when you make regular one, do you use a mix?

There is a spicy huckleberry margarita on the cocktail menu. All fresh ingredients used, no pre-made mixes of any kind.

Does this place allow smoking indoors?

As far as I know there is no smoking allowed at any restaurant in doors !

Is this place handicap accessible, is there a ramp or elevator leading down to it? I heard it's downstairs.

Yes is right in the first floor.

Is there a Dance floor?

Hi Diane, we do not have a dance floor down at Copper.

After watching a FB reel on Wilsall, and reading reviews of this restaurant, I was determined to…read moretry it out. After getting off work early yesterday, I decided to take the 3 1/2 hour ride on my motorcycle down to Wilsall. It was a long beautiful ride. Amazing mountain views. I finally arrived in Wilsall and found the bar & restaurant at about 3:30p. I walked in and was immediately greeted by 3 wonderful and energetic ladies who work at The Bank Bar & Vault Restaurant. I took a seat at a bar table, and ordered a delicious IPA from Outlaw Brewing. I looked over the menu and decided on a Wilsall Zinger burger, a Sweet Chili Chicken Taco, and a Blackened Fish Taco. The Wilsall Zinger burger is a lb burger with their house pickled jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, and jalapeño aioli. Comes with delicious fries. Price is $13.25. I added some lettuce & tomato ($0.50 each), and got the patty cooked slightly past rare. IT WAS PHENOMENAL!! Very impressed. Best burger in a looong time! Definitely recommend! All the meat comes from a local rancher, a mile up the road. Farm to table meat. Muddy Creek Ranch is the local supplier. The Sweet Chili Chicken Taco (2) is grilled chicken cooked with sweet chili sauce, in flour tortillas, with lettuce, tomato, and shredded cheese. Comes with chips & salsa. Price is $13.50. Absolutely delicious!! I recommend these! The Blacked Fish Tacos (2) are fried, battered cod, tossed in a house made Cajun dry rub on top of their house made coleslaw, in a flour tortilla. Comes with chips & salsa. Price is $15.00. These were good, but not my favorite. Usually I love fish tacos, but I didn't love these. For dessert, I ordered a slice of the Fresh Baked Fruit Forest pie. Has wild berries & rhubarb, I think. It's heated up and topped with Whip Cream. It was incredible!! I definitely recommend this pie. I also ordered the Tropical Crepe Cake, which are thin slices of crepe filled with a tropical flavored cream. This dessert pastry was perfect! Soft yet flaky, sweet yet light & mellow, and mysteriously refreshing after all the food eaten before it. Fantastic dessert! For dessert beverage, I ordered a Wilsall Watermelon Crawl cocktail. It is Whiskey, Watermelon Pucker, Lemonade, & Ginger Ale, and an orange slice on the rim. Very delicious and refreshing! I was planning to order one of their famous steaks as well, but unfortunately was too full, so I'll have to come back and get one next time. Muddy Creek Ranch Steaks are part of entrees, which are only served after 5pm. I could have ordered one as it was about 5:25p when I finished everything, but my belly was full. The atmosphere is very friendly & genuine, as small towns are. Great people. Decor is fantastic. A lot of country artwork, photography, statues/sculptures, and other western and bar decor. When I arrived at 3:30, it was pretty quiet and not busy. As time passed and dinner time came, it got busier and slightly more noise, but at a calm social level. If you're ever nearby, or even 3 1/2+ hours away, I HIGHLY recommend stopping in for a bite or a drink. You won't be disappointed. You'll be glad you did!!! TRUST ME! The Bank Bar & Vault Restaurant is now one of my top favorite Montana bars & restaurants. Thank you Bank Bar & Vault Restaurant for your hospitality and amazing food and drinks! I'll be back again soon for a steak!
