Of course it wasn't there and I returned to the cash register where she got a little short with me and kept repeating " I told you it's in the Notable non fiction section!" After I kept telling her that it wasn't and why, she not very happily opened her computer and retrieved the book for me. It's a nice store with good inventory. I was able to order a book from them and have the author sign it. That was about 2 years ago and we have been fans ever since. They were so incredibly polite and helpful. We missed coming here last year because of their hours. It is located on an island so they are not open super late. This is a cute little bookstore with different books, little trinkets and souvenirs to purchase. From my understanding they also do many events with different authors. We visited and were actually able to speak with the owner. She was so sweet, actually straightening from a previous nights event. She talked to us for a bit, got to know us and recommended us to her favorite authors. We wanted local books or books written about Sanibel and Captiva. She only had a few but of course we were able to find some we liked. I would highly recommend stopping here if you need a book while on vacation. If I lived in this area, this would be my local shopping place for books. It is always better to buy local. My only reason for a 4 is there was not a huge selection of local books and the ones she did have, she did not have the whole series. There was pretty much one of each as well, so my sister and I could not each get one. But again, I understand, its a small island. I just wish there was more and more copies. Overall though, we will stop in each year and check it out, see what's new and look for any treasures we can find. The fact that they are independent and do not charge more for a book is also really great. Its a good value for us to buy from a local shop as opposed to a mass retailer. You should definitely check it out.

The owners are friendly and helpful, and showed me several games and items that were appropriate for my child's age. There were so many interesting things that I had a very difficult time choosing. It seems small, but it has a good layout with a decent selection for all age groups I am shopping for. I grew up on the stores that had stages in the kid space, multiple lounge areas to "test out" the book, and no WiFi so students couldn't use the the tables in the cafe for hours at a time. With this set up, unfortunately, it isn't as inviting as they used to be. Never had a bad trip, but never wanted to take my time perusing the shelves. We went ahead and parked when we realized. However, after considerable walking and asking many different individuals, we never found this bookseller. We did have a few people tell us the only place they knew that had books was in the pavilion and we tried there too but only found another stall (different name) with very few books. It looks like this business may be closed. I would call a number to check but do not see one listed.

It has an abundant variety of titles for all tastes and ages, and you can't beat the prices (the owner will usually reduce the total price if you buy multiple books). The place is a little tight when it comes to space, but to me that only adds to its charm. Also, expect some dust on the books and, well, generally everywhere. Whether you're a local or just visiting, if you want to get away from the artificiality of online algorithms when it comes to recommendations about what to read next, give this great bookstore a chance. This is the cutest little bookstore with an amazing selection and their prices are crazy good…read more $1.50, $2.00 books! What?! The vintage rare ones are $3.00!!! The selection of books is vast. Everything is organized nicely. A cute selection of toys, bookmarks and stickers. The girl at the counter was extremely sweet. I don't know if she was the owner but she was so sweet.
