Very responsive and supportive. Answered all my questions and concerns and was very flexible with my schedule and when and where we could meet and greet.

My journey to adopt a new dog was unfortunately started my the sudden passing of my faithful senior pup Dakota. It felt weird without a dog in the house, and I'm a huge believer that there are so many dogs out there who need a chance for a new start so I finally gave into the idea of looking. My friend tagged me on Instagram on a post about Harrison, a gentleman terrier mix who looked very cute but sad in his picture. His bio was detailed and sounded like a potential good fit for us. I commented on the picture and sent in an application. Since I live pretty far from Concord/East Bay area -- I was able to take detailed pictures and a video of my house/backyard/etc. instead of doing a home visit. Jessica, the foster mom, was great about communicating quickly with me and answered any questions I had honestly and in detail which I really appreciated. We set up a date to come meet him (after our application was reviewed) at his foster home and were able to take him home for a 1 week (ended up turning into 2 weeks since I wasn't quite ready to take the plunge) trial. The adoption fee is higher than your local shelter, but in return you're getting a fully vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and socialized dog. You're also getting a invaluable information from someone who KNOWS this dog, knows their quirks, their likes/dislikes, etc. . I adopted Harrison (now Harry) in May and while my heart was still broken from losing Dakota, he really grew on me and now I'm completely obsessed. He is sweet, gentle, funny, and really was exactly like their description. If you're considering adoption, choose Ozzie's!

Mr Sage hamming it up in his humans bed at home

I highly recommend Ozzie's. I adopted my fur baby two years ago and Mr Sage has changed my life for the better in so many ways. I went in with my eye on one puppy but the gal recommended another puppy when I arrived. She knew what she was doing because Sage and I are two peas in a pod. I wanted a dog I could smother with love and Sage was born for me...and my family...and Ozzie's was the go between who chose me for him.

My wife and I have fallen in love with a dog that is shown available for adoption. We submitted our application Saturday afternoon and is Friday the the week after and still no response. Well we've had one response but all it said is well I'll post a photo of it. I'm not here to talk badly about the company but can we PLEASE get more clear answer!?!?!?? I've left my personal cel for them and my wife's hoping that'll help them contact us faster.. If we don't hear back from them at all I'll post then how we really feel..

I just adopted a puppy named Jersey (formerly Briar) and we are in love. The foster home the pups were in clearly love their canine charges and wants only the best for them. We had a great experience adopting our puppy. I saw 2 one star reviews here regarding one of Jersey's siblings that was placed for a trial period then taken back because there were some concerns about how well of a fit that puppy was in that home. I understand the people were upset but the whole goal of a good adoption organization is to make sure they place the dogs in an appropriate home. When that goal is not met, the dogs suffer. My hat's off to Ozzies's for putting the dogs first.

    Jameson showing his handsome side

I adopted our new love bug puppy, Jameson, from Ozzies Pound Puppies. Wendy was an awesome Foster mommy to Jameson. Wendy made sure I understood that him is shy and timid when you first meet him but he will show his real self as the love bug he is once he feels comfortable. Wendy stayed in contact with me to make sure Jameson was doing good. Well I am thrilled to say that Jameson is doing awesome and is the biggest love bug. Big shout out to Ozzies Pound Puppies. I have recommended the rescue to friends and family.

Two weeks ago i had to put my sweet doxie down. My heart was broken. I was introduced to this wonderful organization. Yesterday I brought home my rescue Angel "Ruby" it was a beautiful experience. The foster home was amazingly clean and they were so loving and professional! When I called them and described my desires for a dog they knew exactly which dog was for me. I was surprised at the fact she was spayed, chipped and had all her shots. They are an excellent rescue organization! I highly recommend them. Thank you for blessing my life!

We adopted a puppy (Yara) from Ozzies over the summer and she is the sweetest dog! The application process was smooth and we had a great meeting with her foster prior to bringing her home. We will definitely look at Ozzies first when it's time to add to the family. Thank you!

    Meet Bailey, my Ozzies Pup!
    Laura v.

I adopted my puppy, Bailey, from Ozzies Pound Puppies. The entire experience was wonderful. I've had Bailey for almost three months now and have stayed in constant contact with her foster mom. As a first time dog owner, having a puppy (for me) was up there with having a first child; a new question or concern every day. Ozzie's has been very responsive to my calls, messages and texts; usually replying within minutes! Beyond that, we were given all the information they had about our puppy; where she was rescued from, information about the mom, DOB, etc. I personally met three of Ozzie's volunteer fosters during my puppy search and was incredibly impressed with the knowledge, advice, care and devotion they all have to the common cause - saving dog's lives and finding the perfect forever homes! I would highly recommend Ozzies Pound Puppies!

    Atticus, our adopted lab mix
    Erica P.

Adopted our lab mix about 5 months ago and we couldn't be happier. This organization seems to really care about the animals they adopt out. The application is super detailed but not overly picky. The adoption fee was very reasonable. The foster family that had our dog along with 8 siblings and their mother were awesome. They took very good care of all the dogs and are genuinely good people. Foster mom BJ still keeps in touch with us, organized a doggie DNA test for the puppies and even set up a Facebook page so we could all stay connected. I highly recommend!

We adopted our first rescue from Ozzie's! His name was Baby Boy, but is now Banksy Blue. Ozzie's was so great with our first adoption that we adopted Tricia, now Frida a year later! We love Ozzie's and having met Lisa at a Maddie's Day even truly enriched, not just mine and my wife's life, but also the lives of our two fur babies!

In my particular case, I was looking for a small, hypoallergenic dog, which was difficult to find. After months of checking their adoption page, I finally found the perfect puppy who fits so seamlessly into our family. She is incredibly sweet and transformed almost instantly after coming home with us, from a shy, shivering little pup to an absolute terror in the best way possible! The staff was wonderful, helpful, knowledgeable, and very informative throughout the entire process. I also appreciated how thorough they were, providing all the supplies we needed for the first few days and taking every precaution to ensure a smooth transition. On top of that, the facility was clean, organized, and clearly well cared for. We're so grateful to have found our newest family member here!

Always more of a dog person. But I was worried because of her age she might be on a shortlist for something trickier - especially after first coming to animal control and gaining 4 pounds. But we took to each other immediately. And she seemed to be one sweet healthy cat attached at the hip to me, attached to my people, and patient with dogs and cats in the house for sitting. Have been crushed since but thank you ASPCA tor everything. Even after years I together and tons of water bowlers, routine, cuddles, play time, and a two bedroom with a full kitchen, bathroom, and living room, a litter robot, cat trees and plenty's of scratchers, I discovered she had kidney disease (CkD) at age 18, she lasted another year.

Her mom adopted the sweetest chihuahua from Arf back in 2021, the fur baby went blind about a year ago. So we were really concerned about how she would settle in a new environment, and we're trying to rehome the dog I went to Joybound a few weeks ago to ask if there was any chance they take back their animals in these circumstances. The woman at the welcome desk was so helpful explaining yes they do. She walked me thru the process to fill out the forms online They got back to my friend promptly to setup an appointment for a behavior assessment and vet evaluation. We had our appointment yesterday at 2. We arrived a half hour early so we wouldn't be rushed , and to help Lily stay as calm as possible. Everyone we encountered was delightful and so kind. No judgements- Lily came alive with tail wags and enthusiasm to be back at such a supportive rescue group. She was just basking in the attention and love. She passed her behavior test with flying colors. We were told she most likely will be going to a foster home first for a few weeks before she's available for adoption. We were told we can follow her online with her name, and see when she becomes available and she won't be on the website anymore once she finds her next loving home. Thank you Joybound for standing behind your animals and supporting families We also did not have to pay a surrender fee. We were encouraged to take our time and enjoy complementary coffee or tea, also offered a box of tissues We were already pulling out of the parking lot before our scheduled appointment time Can't think you enough for your kindness all around this hard experience

Those two dogs spent many years together, always protective of me and of each other on our many hikes. I would periodically send in photos to CD, and always had a friendly reply. Almost like a family. One morning, up in ALanden Quicksilver Park, going up a steep narrow trail, they suddenly half turned and let rip with ferocious barks.
