Let me elaborate.. I've been to Coppers many of times in the past with no problems. I was also with people who were regulars there too. Last night I decided to take some friends and our kids after a long day on the lake/ pool. In total there were 4 adults and 4 kids. We came in the front and stood at the hostess stand for 15 minutes with no recognition until some older couples came in behind us. Finally someone asked "all of us" if we have been helped (after 6 different people walked by) and the gentlemen behind me told her that we needed to be seated first. So the hostess walks off and returns a few minutes later and says it will be 10 minutes for a table. I agreed and we waited. 15 minutes go by and nothing so I let them know that we would be walking outside because the kids were restless and the hostess said she would come get us. We went onto the lawn to listen to the band so the kids could play. Another 30 minutes go by.. still nothing so my friend went to the bar to get a drink. Her ID wasn't enough so they asked her for two more forms of identification, seriously? After she returned I went back up to the restaurant and asked if I could just order food for the kids because they were hungry.. she let me order at the bar. I ordered them each chicken fingers and a drink. About 15 minutes later the food comes out and they sat the plates on the grass for the kids to eat. Finanlly a waitress comes to let us know a table was ready. (1 1/2 hours later) we get our things and kids and follow her. We then start to make our orders. A lady walks by and I said "Ma'am can we get some drinks for the kids" and she tells me that she will get our server. She walks back out right by us and never acknowledged us or let us know what she did.. I stopped her. I said "Ma'am did you get out server..?" I asked her if she was the supervisor and she said yes so then I asked her why she didn't get our drinks since we had waited an hour and a half.. this was her response.. "Didn't she just take your order?" I was appalled so I sat there wondering if I heard her correctly. I said "excuse me? My kids are thirsty and they already have their food and no drinks.. we JUST ordered our food.. so it would be nice if they could have something to drink" she continued to talk over me and even yelled at me! Exclaiming that the waitress got our orders and that was enough. I told her that I used to be in service and that I knew there was no way she could be talking to me like that. We finally told her that we weren't THAT hungry and I stood up and told my crying 9 year old to follow me. Te lady was so rude that she scared my child!! I went to another waitress and asked for the owner. He came up to me and I explained the whole situation and let him know that I was very concerned with how rude his staff was. He had nothing but excuses. My daughter came up stating that she was so thirsty and crying.. I looked at him and said can we please get her a drink? We are leaving. We walked inside and the older couple asked me if I had finally gotten a seat.. (they had their tickets and to go plates) And I told him that we just sat down and we're already leaving. He said the problem was that the owner wasn't there and I said oh yes he is. And the owner introduced himself. The gentlemen backed me up on how rude the staff was and how long we waited before anyone asked us what we needed. I am so very disappointed and more so at the owner for not recognizing that we were just as important. He never tried to fix it. His exact words were "we dropped the ball unfortunately" are you kidding me!??!! I told him if that was the kind of Business he wanted to run then so be it but I wasn't paying for anything! We've been to this restaurant several times and have always found it good. I've alternated between steak and prime rib. My wife usually gets salmon and has always found it good. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I would like to see a broader choice of entrees. read more

I've been to Copper's several times and found the food to be just ok. My wife and I had the Ultimate Nachos on 5/5/18 and they were dry and so bad we couldn't eat them. My wife and I are so polite we didn't complain (I wish we had). read more

My sister and I took our mother there to celebrate her 76th birthday. A friend of ours dropped off a birthday cake for our mother and asked if they could surprise her with the cake. And the staff said yes, they could. They would hold it in the kitchen until we were finished eating. Well they never presented my mother with the cake. When my friend called and spoke with the manager about it he said he would look into the matter and get back to her. He said that he would reimburse her for the cake. My friend told him no you need to reimburse the woman who cake was for. She has never heard from the manager since and it has been about two weeks. Pretty sad. That was our final shot at trying the restaurant again. read more

Was so excited when Copper's opened for a nice restaurant on this side of the lake. The food was excellent at first. All of a sudden it was just ok which was not ok for the price. Found out from a former employee that the chef has left, which explains why the food went downhill. Keep going back hoping it will get better but still mediocre, if there is alcohol in the drink it has to be a half ounce. I'm not much of a drinker and if I can have 4 or 5 and not even feel it there is something wrong. The staff are friendly but not trained so well. Last several times took 2 hours to get our food and the orders weren't right. Still the atmosphere is excellent and entertainment is a huge plus. read more

We were so excited to try this new place at Lake Martin as it is conveniently located to our lake house. Three of us ordered the prime rib and one ordered the Cajun chicken pasta. The prime rib was cooked to order and once sliced into revealed to be the medium rare I ordered. The au jus was delicious. We finished off our meal with two of their generously portioned desserts, a bread pudding and chocolate mousse layered cake. The bread pudding was the best I've ever had! Better than the Armand's white bread pudding from back in the day in Birmingham. Highly recommend. read more

We were going with regularity up until about 2 months or so ago. At least twice a week. We got tired of inconsistent food and wait staff's crappy service. Sunday brunch was an every Sunday thing for us. Until one hostess got ugly about seating during the week. They love to tell people it is booked or reserved for members of Stillwater's. Yet people like myself can't make reservations. I can assure you there are those of us that go a whole lot more than the members. We live about as close as they do to! Inconsistent at best. After looking at other reviews I am not alone. No responses on most either. read more

I was very disappointed with waitress who asked about a tip on a to-go order. I never tip on a to-go order and I will never tip someone who ask for a tip. I have spoken with several people who have been hassled by the same waitress on numerous occasions about insufficient tip amount or none at all. We were excited to be getting a new restaurant in our area, since our choices are limited and we typically go to Auburn for more upscale dining. The first week the restaurant opened we ordered take out and had a really good experience. I had the Mahi Mahi and thought it was one of the best I'd ever had, cooked and seasoned perfectly. I also had the bread pudding which was some of the best I've eaten. However, since that first meal food quality and service have been lacking. My second meal I ordered the Salmon and was served a raw piece of fish, not rare or under cooked, but raw. The next time after that I ordered a steak that was suppose to be cooked medium but was RAW, not rare, raw. I never send food back but couldn't eat it as it was and when they brought it back to me it had been put under a broiler and charred to a crisp. My wife had fish tacos the same night that were brought to the table cold. The next take out we ordered I had the bread pudding again and it was stone cold straight from the refirgerator and the sauce that goes over the top was also refrigerator cold, not warm as it should be served. The Mahi Mahi that night was about a quarter of the size of the first piece of fish I had, was dried out, and had no seasoning or flavor, at least it wasn't raw. Recently we went to brunch with our fingers crossed, the eggs Benedict were ok but the side of sausage which was $2.50 for a single piece was like shoe leather. My wife also had a side of sausage that was cooked to the same consistency. The home fries were soggy and cooked in old oil and the after taste of bad oil was all there was. I'd like to say that the wait staff makes up for the poor food but.....On 5 out of the 6 times we have eaten there our food has been taken to the wrong table and we laugh as it's become almost comical now to watch the other patrons reaction. The only reason it wasn't 6 out of 6 was because the last time there was only one other couple and they already had their food. One night when it was fairly crowded we had a group of 5, the hostess came to get us and took us to a table with only 2 chairs and not enough room even if the other 3 chairs had been available. When we pointed out we were a group of five she got pissed. The same night our waitress, who we didn't really have any problem with, started complaining about the hostess not bringing our drinks to us while she was busy with another table and that she was about to be the floor manager and was going to take care of that hostess once she was boss. We really don't need to know that. The same night one of or our guests ordered a chef salad without blue cheese. What she was served had enough blue cheese in it to feed the entire table. When it was pointed out to the waitress her only response was, "they must not be able to read in the back." My wife's personal favorite was when asked for straws one waitress sprinkled them around the table like we were 5 year olds at Chuck E Cheese. The manager or person responsible needs to take more time training the staff and facilitating the food to manage quality as it comes out of the kitchen rather than doing customer service in the dining room. Once you get the food right and the staff performing properly, then you can concentrate on chatting up the customers. We were hoping that over time some of the kinks would get worked out, but it actually seems to be getting worse. This is the first review I've ever written for a restaurant and I'm hoping that the owner and manager will take it in spirit that it is meant. We really want to see this restaurant succeed and the old golf course opened back up and the area beging to thrive and return to it's glory days. We're pulling for you, but if what we've experienced is typical, soon you'll lose the support of the locals and visitors to the area will give you one chance but not two. You have an awesome opportunity to do some really great things, but if you don't start paying attention to the details they'll never happen. I notice the other reviews on this site date back to when the restaurant was first opened. Whatever you were doing then you need to return to that. read more
