For the price and value, I can't think of anything that was more convenient, comfortable, or hospitable than the Coppersmith Inn B&B. Stay: Valentine's Weekend Overall: 9.1/10 Room: 8.8/10 Quaint historic property with a comfy bed, private balcony, old school bathtub , and wonderful accommodations by the hosts! My girlfriend and I were on keto and they customized a wonderfully delicious breakfast that we gobbled up. In addition, they have a small temperature controlled pool in the back to relax. We stopped for a night in Galveston and discovered this amazing gem. The host explained the historical significance of the property and the island. They ushered us into our suite that was beautifully appointed with age appropriate and updated features. The breakfast was spectacular with a spinach quiche, fresh OJ, biscuits and fruit yogurt, I can only say YUMMY. We had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay. Definitely recommend and worth every penny! read more

Our second visit! We loved the Coppersmith Inn B&B so much, we had to stay there on our latest trip to Galveston. The owner, Renee, is a gracious host and a great chef. We stayed in a different room which was just as immaculately clean and well decorated as the first room we stayed in. Breakfast each morning featured unique gourmet offerings. This place was absolutely amazing! My husband surprised me by bringing me here for our 31st Anniversary. Renee, our host made our Anniversary extra special by making us a meat and cheese tray with chocolate covered strawberries and a nice bottle of Moscato. The room was nice with an extra comfy tempur pedic mattress. The walkthrough window onto the upstairs patio was a nice feature as well. I would definitely recommend this B&B and look forward to visiting again. read more

The owners are incredibly nice, knowledgeable about the property and history, living on-site while doing renovations and available for any needs you might have. The location is ideal for waking to the beach, renting bikes or walking around historic homes. We stayed here to celebrate our anniversary on May 29, 2021. It is such a great place in an awesome location. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was DELICIOUS! My husband and I were so impressed with the amount of food and quality of the food (the bacon was cooked to perfection). Everything you'd expect from a charming late 1880s BB. So my boyfriend and I were searching for a place to stay for my birthday this weekend and I am so happy we came across this absolute gem. Where to start... from the minute I called Theressa to book the room, she was extremely sweet and helpful. Neither of us have ever stayed in a Bed and Breakfast so we were a little apprehensive, and I'm here to tell you, don't be! We stayed in the Carriage House which is separate from the main house and has a private balcony and entrance from the garden. Upon arrival, Theressa gave us a quick and informative tour of the historic (and absolutely beautiful) main house and took us to the carriage house. The room is stunning, complete with a jacuzzi tub, mini fridge, TV with Netflix and a bunch of provided movies, and a nice personal balcony. Then I noticed after she left that she had left me a plate of cookies with a really sweet happy birthday note. We promptly devoured the cookies after five minutes. After we went out to dinner we came back and sitting in the jacuzzi while watching a movie and sipping champagne was honestly the icing on the cake of my birthday. In the morning I got up and made myself a cup of coffee (Keurig machine in room with sugar, creamers and stir sticks- it's all in the details) and Theressa and her husband brought the two most beautiful trays of breakfast I've ever seen! Cinnamon french toast, eggs, and a super yummy fruit parfait. My boyfriend is not a breakfast person and I was surprised to see how he finished his plate before me, and proclaimed it was one of the best breakfasts he's ever had, to which I completely agreed. It was both a private and extremely friendly environment. I honestly can't wait to come back! It was better than most five star hotels I've ever stayed in. The ammenities listed on the website were no where close to what we got. The wine & cheese(not), snacks (1 old cookie in a jar), the breakfast(no where near what they show). We stayed in the cabin which was comfortable but the floor was getting rotten in certain places which made you watch where you were stepping. The owner was very nice and apologetic. The location was great. They need to restructure their website. read more

My husband and I stayed here for our 2 year wedding anniversary, and it was just amazing. We had the carriage suite, which has its own entrance through the garden. The suite was charming, adorably decorated, and huge! We practically lived in the jacuzzi tub (yes it had jets), while we watched movies on the flat screen. They're was also an adorable bar, and sitting area. When I finally got out of the tub, it was to jump into the huge comfy king sized bed. After dinner, we nestled in bed all night watching movies (provided for us). In the morning we were served strawberry marmalade stuffed Frenchtoast (omg so yummy), and endless coffee while we chatted with the caretakers. It was honestly one of my favorite experiences, and I can't wait to go back next year! read more

I have given this place two stars because the proprietor is such a seemingly nice person. Other than that this place is a mess and truly a solid ONE. . My better half and I booked this B&B in the last minute for the Galveston Historical Home Tour. We were surprised they had availability so late into the season....Once we stayed there we knew why. I'll USA Today it for you: Bed AND Breakfast. - We selected Clara's Cottage even though it was pricey. We wanted a quiet, historical space to relax and have a great weekend. - The cottage had a barely safe plank to walk over to get to the door....no thought has been given to guest safety. walkway to the cottage was a real concern. There was no historical significance to the room that was originally a kitchen. At night there were extremely bright lights on ever side of the building I guess to scare off crime. Anyway. It was like daylight at Midnight. We barely got a nights worth of sleep in the 3 days we were there. We COULD NOT SLEEP because of the outside lighting... BREAKFAST What a Failure. So much potential...So little execution. The hostess WAITS until ALL guests are at the table. Thus EVERY breakfast was cold and tasteless. It looked great...but that is all. What a real disappointment. The saving grace was the other guests. that is why we stay in B and B's No wonder this place has been For Sale for so long....The owners have lost ANY passion they had for the business. Put them out of their misery....Stay elsewhere. read more

We stayed in Victoria's Room with a private balcony. Coppersmith is an excellent B&B. We have stayed at many B&B's, from the Texas hill country, to Colorado, Arizona, and Hawaii. Coppersmith is the best. The innkeepers are warm and helpful. The home is beautiful. The breakfasts are delicious. And the location is perfect. Avenue M is a beautiful street of historic homes. You are blocks away from The Strand or the beach. Complimentary bottled water, wine, cookies, recent DVD movies, soap, and shampoo. Super charming. You won't be disappointed. We plan to return to genuine Southern hospitality very soon. read more

My husband and I have stayed at this BnB about 3 times over the past few years, and I must say, it's just a great place. Ellen and her mother run the property, and they do a fantastic job. The house and rooms are welcoming and comfortably furnished with a mix of antiques and modern amenities, and Ellen serves a delicious breakfast every day at 9am. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, too, with snacks, drinks, and coffee available to you. She has two friendly dogs who roam the house, giving love and cuddles if you so choose. While the house is old (built in the late 1800s), it was always well maintained and cleaned, with a lovely back patio and gardens outside. Ellen told us all about the original walls, floors, windows, etc that the house has, and I must say the woodwork in the house and the staircase and stained glass windows are gorgeous! It's close to the Seawall and the Strand, so it's easy to get everywhere in Galveston. Overall the house is wonderful and homey. You can tell family stays there, and Ellen makes it feel like you're part of it. I'd highly recommend it. read more
