I've been to Cora's once before and remember the food being decent. It's not a place that I'd immediately pick to be honest however, a friend really wanted to dine here. It was pretty busy on Sunday which I imagine is typical like everywhere else however, we were able to get a table no problem. People came and went so I imagine the wait wasn't that long for those who waited. I ordered the maple latte which to my surprise was delicious 10/10! I also got the salmon benny which came with a generous portion of fruit and potatoes on the side. My friend got the waffles with eggs, bacon, and potatoes. The salmon benny was nothing special and what you would expect from a place like this. It wasn't bad but it wasn't incredible either. I added green onions to give it a bit more of a boost as it doesn't come with any toppings aside from hollandaise sauce. That saying when I received my bill I noticed there was a $2 charge for the green onions which they don't tell you upfront. The waitress also casually asked if we wanted onions or mushrooms on the potatoes but didn't mention it's extra. Luckily I asked about that one. My friend asked for maple syrup for her waffles and they charged extra for it too without saying anything. Just a heads up for those asking for basic things that, they charge for it all. My potatoes were pretty cold and I could tell had probably been sitting out for a while. The fruit was fresh and sweet. I also like how you get a good portion unlike most restaurants that give you 2 small pieces of fruit. They also arrange it in a pretty manner. I'll give my plate a 7/10. My coffee and benny came to $32 not including the tip. I thought it was slightly a bit much for a place like Cora's but oh well. Our waitress was pretty decent and friendly. The service was pretty standard no complaints. I did notice that our food came out after a larger table that showed up much later than we did got their food. All in all if you're looking for a place to get a decent breakfast then this is a good place. It's nothing fancy but it's not terrible either. read more

Despite being a busy Saturday morning I was greeted and seated almost immediately. The service was top notch. My server Trang was super friendly and attentive. I ordered the Chorizo-Ham skillet which was tasty but the only slight disappointment is that the potatoes were a bit undercooked. Otherwise, very tasty. Big portion, took half of it home. Very busy bustling breakfast place in Edmonton but the staff are efficient and can quickly accommodate the guests. The menu is really extensive and caters to different kinds of palate. It took me a while to decide on what I wanted, crepes, because I wanted something simple but delicious and the server was so helpful and accommodating! Place was busy busy for a Sunday but all the customers looked happy and satisfied. Balloons were given to the young guests, putting a smile on their faces. Having recently dined at Cora's downtown, I thought it would be interesting to try this Southside and original Edmonton location. I even ordered a similar dish being a skillet, but this time it was western skillet. My meal was quite good but way too large. I'm an average sized guy and this is both breakfast and lunch but it was still too big. Some people might consider that to be an advantage but I don't like to see food wasted (especially at $16 a plate). I do appreciate that they include fruit with each meal but they would do well to downsize the portions a bit. For a couple of extra dollars we could have eaten at OEB if we were downtown. Service here wasn't nearly as good as it was downtown. After reading other reviews it seems that they are having difficulties with the service but not the cooking at this location. The coffee cups are tiny and refills were slow to arrive. The coffee itself was okay for a restaurant but I prefer it a bit stronger. Today, a Tuesday, there was immediate seating as Cora's was only a quarter full. I still recommend Cora's as the dishes are interesting and the added fruit makes them healthier than what most chains offer. Come hungry and you'll leave happy. Go to the downtown Cora's and you'll leave even happier. read more

I've had more good experiences than off situations at the various to Coras. I do recommend that it's always good to arrive earlier than you think you should to get a table, especially if you're more than 2 or are wanting a booth over a table. As it's been mentioned, the waiting area is a bit of a difficult space to stand but it's been awhile since I've had to wait outside due to a longer line up. There was even someone today (5 people after me on the list) and I was glad to see everyone make space for the wheelchair to make it to the front of the line and inside of the restaurant vs force them to wait outside (yay for good human beings today!). No matter how busy and crazy the front end is, my group of 4 or more always gets well taken care of. Be it with one or more servers (sometimes we choose earlier or later times in hopes that we'll get seated quicker so that means shift changes too). Yes, the restaurant is loud but it does absorb enough that it's not too intense having a mixture of families with little ones and larger groups. Even with a larger group, food arrives in a decent time. Sometimes you do need to remind them of items that you ordered to come with the meal but I see that more often when multiple people are trying to help a table (so I totally get that happening and always gets quickly fixed). Every once in awhile I try their featured blended drinks but usually the orange juice is my option. I would not recommend the coffee if you're part of the elite coffee drinkers. However, if you're looking for a jolt of caffeine, it works. Today the three of my brunch friends all seemed to enjoy their coffee (and had refills) with enough cream and sugar added. Fruit is a hit and but some fruit items are a miss (mostly due to my preference). Today the kiwis were harder than I would prefer to eat (that made me sad) and I ended up giving them along with the cantaloupe and honeymoon (that is always over dominant on the plate) to a friend that enjoys them much more than I do. I'm aware asking for specific fruit (so less of a mixture) can lead to extra cost. So I usually offer my less liked fruit to others at my table and everyone wins. Depending on the waitress, when I order my potatoes with my standard favourite Sunshine panini- crepe awesomeness, I get asked if I want to replace the fruit with potatoes (fair choice to not get charged more), some offer half fruit (which is my preference as I do like fruit but really depends on the day if there's an extra charge to that option) or like today, I ended up with a full side of fruit and a full side of potatoes. My bad for not double checking on that before she rushed away to enter our table's order. So I happily consumed my extra potatoes with my hollandaise sauce (yes that's an extra to that dish) and pushed that stomach limit but it was worth it. Summary, when knowing that inconsistency happens (not just between restaurants but at the same location too) just be aware to ask if there's extra charges. Or go in knowing you'll most likely have extra charges if you do like I did today and didn't clarify what I was asking for when I was ordering. That being said, I think it's reasonable to add an extra fee if you're adding more to the meal. Everyone was happy with their meals and the amount of food is always more than a fair size. Nice plus that there's more than enough surrounding parking options due to other restaurants and businesses, so it allows us to meet in a reasonable location for our larger group gatherings. read more

This review actually hurts me to write, I've loved Chez Cora since 2007 in Quebec. While I get that perhaps today might have been an off day, or there may have been staff issues, etc...I have to write this. I did get seated straight away. Ordered a decaff late, waited 20 minutes for that. Then the place started to fill up more and another 20 minutes went by and I got my food just as I was putting on my jacket and considering going elsewhere. I had the Louis undecided, for those that don't know, it is eggs (your way) potatoes, bacon and a crepe filled with hazelnut spread and fresh fruit. The server was friendly enough, but you got the feeling she really didn't care. On wards, whatever. The eggs were okay, lukewarm but ok. The crepe as I began to eat didn't taste right. So, I opened it up to find rotten strawberries. Just then I got served burned toast, because naturally it didn't come WITH the meal timing-wise. I asked for some non charred toast - Please! I waited 40 minutes to get rotten food. So I told the 'runner' about the strawberries, I did hear her tell the cooks not to use them, but I couldn't find my server anywhere, so I got up, told another staff that I was leaving and why. The latte was a promo, so I had no guilt about walking out. Had I not looked, I'd have been sick for a couple of days. Went in on Thursday afternoon for a brunch. I had ordered the coffee to start off and unfortunately was not impressed at all. The coffee was watered down, the server made an attempt to re make it but again it was not at all good. I then got the fruit cocktail instead. I ordered the kids meal and for Myself Ordered the tuna melt with fruits. I had abundance of fruits but the tuna melt was terrible. It was burnt and it lacked flavour--i could have done a better job at home. In all honesty, I have had much better experience at Cora's. My second time going here for breakfast. Of all restaurants serving breakfast, nothing compares to Cora's . Fresh fruits , big portions, cozy atmosphere . When you first walk in , the first thing you notice is the open side showing the kitchen and the staff bustling in preparing dishes. The overall decore is cozy and inviting. The menu offers a huge variety of dishes. Fresh juices, smoothies, coffees ( refillable) and teas. Waffles, crepes, eggs anyway you choose. Each egg dish comes with potatoes, choice of proteins ( sausages, bacon, ham , black bean sausage for vegetarians ) , fresh fruit and toast ( white, brown, rye ). We ordered a simple breakfast and a side of crepes. Simply delicious. If you're a morning person, the place is pretty busy. We went at noon and it was still busy but seating was immediate . For the 4 of us , the bill came to just a bit over $50 .. but it was worth it. From what i heard it's best to arrive before 2pm ..considering they close at 3 pm. We went to Cora's this week for an early breakfast. I guess we didn't get there early enough because the line up was out the door. A good sign, but there is nowhere to sit, so you just kinda stand there, crammed in a hallway with everyone else. The food was decent, coffee a little bitter but drinkable. The only reason I went out of my way to write a not so great review? They don't have any nutritional information. Not on the website, not in the store and google turned up nothing. Cora's preaches healthy living, yet refuses to put up nutritional information? Come on, even McDonald's posts it. Come to think of it, isn't it required by law? I am on a bit of a health kick, and literally the only thing I thought I could eat was the oatmeal. One bite of the maple syrup and English cream told me it was not healthy at all. I tried to substitute fruit for the toast, was told absolutely not. I emailed Cora's head office asking for the nutritional information and no response. I'm thinking its a lot worse than people thinks. I guess I will have to stick to the egg whites and fruit at Denny's. read more

Cora's is a chain from Quebec that has been making waves on the breakfast scene in other parts of Canada. Although it is located deep on the south side, I made the trek to find out why people are raving about the place. It only took me a few moments looking at the menu to see why. Mountains of fresh fruit adorn waffles, French toast, pancakes, yogurt and granola parfaits, crepes, and more. I ordered a Seven of July, which was crepes and French toast covered in fruit. The French toast was sweet with nutmeg and cinnamon, while the crepes were crispy. I am very partial when it comes to fruit, and I can honestly say that both the variety and freshness were perfect. At the other side of the table, a roast beef panini was ordered. It came with the soup of the say and a side salad. The salad included a glass filled with sticks of carrots, celery, and zucchini, with dip at the bottom. The reaction? One of the best he has ever had. No small compliment. I had coffee (average) and he had a raspberry fruit smoothie (delicious) and we shared a side order of roast potatoes (tender and savory). Prices are average to middle for this kind of food ($10-$12), service is very friendly, and the decor is bright and colourful. It was very busy though, despite it being a weekday afternoon. On weekends, be prepared to wait in line. However, the plates really look like works of art and everything tastes as good as it looks. read more

I went here again for my sister's birthday. There were six of us, so I was a little worried that we would be waiting longer than we did last time when there were only two of us, but we went anyways. The atmosphere in the lineup was really fun. My sister and I were talking and being silly (like sisters can be!) and my mom was enjoying watching us. An older couple had commented to my mom that we seemed to be really good friends and a conversation was sparked as they talked about their children. We got a table in a reasonable amount of time, and our server rushed over to us and introduced herself. She was really perky and informative. She knew her specials, what the potatoes were cooked in and what kind of smoothie was being offered that morning. I liked this server much more than the last one because she seemed so happy to be there. The food that morning was excellent and all of us were impressed with the amount of fruit was was piled on our plates. We sat for a little while after our plates were cleared and we didn't feel rushed out, which was really nice. I will be going back here again. read more

Holy Moly it was busy for breakfast for a Friday morning. Here I was thinking that it will be slow since it's a weekday and I took the day off. We got sat in the corner with only 2 tables including ours, which was great because it looked way to busy to sit with the crowd and all the screaming kids... kids... Our waitress was trying her best to accommodate all her tables so I was forgivable for the slow service. I ordered the GG omelet that had spinach, goat cheese and a huge side of fruit yummm. My sister had the veggie omelet which looked Delicious. I also had the fruit cocktail which had pineapple, orange, and grape (really good). Our breakfast was sooo good and filling, I was just happy that it was a healthy choice because we had a full day a head of us. I will definitely be back (I wonder when it would be slow? Probably never), I love how fresh the ingredients are and a healthier choice. O don't forget the fudge up front before you leave! read more

My good friend in Edmonton took me to Cora's on my last trip back. I have to say I wasn't a huge fan. I ordered the breakfast with blue berry crepes and the crepes were disappointing. It was a little on the thick side anddwas very rubbery. Chez Cora may be hard to get to, but I assure you it is worth the drive. Established in 1987, chains have been popping up across Canada- a statement to their popularity. This restaurant offers some of the best breakfast and brunch menu items in the city. From eggs to omelettes, french toast, waffles, bowls of fresh fruit and crepes, Cora prides themselves on using the freshest ingredients. Menu items are reasonably priced (~$12-16), and every dish comes with generous portions. I ordered an April 89, which a MASSIVE 12 inch long (and 5 inch wide) crepe stuffed over the top with strawberries, bananas, kiwi, grapes, oranges, and other fruit, all topped with sweet crepe sauce and of coarse whipped cream. I was amazed at the monstrosity, yet there was no sacrifice on food quality at all. The fruit tasted very fresh, and there never seemed to be an overload of fruit flavor or sweetness despite all the sweet crepe sauce. I did manage to finish it, but it was basically my breakfast, lunch, and most of my supper. My only complaint is that this place was packed. I felt like a sardine in the restaurant, which is not the right atmosphere for a breakfast/brunch area. The line ups are also discouraging- people were standing outside for a 1 hour wait from 9am already. The line up had even grown as we left around 12. I would give this restaurant 3 stars because of the long waits and cramped sitting area, but I liked the food so much that I can forgo this...for now. read more

As far as Cora's go this place is the worst I have been to. We waited 4 or 5 minutes to be seated, which in itself wouldn't be a problem if we had in any way, shape or form been acknowledged. Rather than a casual "sort guys, be with you in a minute" we were met with a look of utter contempt then outright refusal to acknowledge that we were waiting to be seated. It felt as though we had personally put the hostess out by simply existing. This was my first time visiting a Cora's in Alberta. Having grown up in Ontario Cora's was a common breakfast place. We arrived just in time for breakfast here at about 9:15 am on a Sunday. There was 5 of us (4 adults and 1 child). We waited about 10 mins for a table that could accommodate us. But it seemed to be a difficult task due to the table sizes and many booths. It was very busy! Eventually we were sat at a booth and just squished in, not a big deal as the child is quite small. We were almost immediately greeted by a lovely server Linda! She was very cheery and got right down to business asking us what we'd like to drink. Shortly after she delivered our drinks and took our orders. She suggested we fast track the child's order due to the business... Points there! The food came out quite quickly! And all exactly as ordered. I ordered the Cora's Special, which is like bacon and eggs with 3 different kinds of meat. Pretty basic and difficult to mess up! My sweetheart ordered the "Uncle Fred" a cheese waffle style eggs Benny. It was fantastic according to him! His parents each ordered typical bacon and eggs and had nothing to complain about. And the little one had fruit crepes. The custard sauce was sweets and creamy and the fruit was fresh! Coffee was offered many times and plates were cleared moments after they were emptied! The bill was brought quickly and payment was processed without hassle. Overall our experience was pleasant! I would recommend Cora's to anyone. Just be prepared to wait to be seated as its a very popular breakfast place, but worth the wait! read more

Not bad. Not great. Passable and I'd go again if the line weren't too long. It was our last day of vacation and the friends that we stayed with said that Cora's was quite popular. We had plenty of time to get to the airport so we decided to try it out. There was a wait of about 15 minutes. Our party of six was seated at two booths that were side-by-side but had a short wall between them. Made for awkward conversation but we had a plane to catch! Service was reasonably quick. Food was served hot and as ordered. They spend a lot of time cutting fresh fruit that is very fresh and flavorful. I had the "summer of 1970"?, which was brioche dipped in French toast batter, 1 egg, bacon and fruit. The brioche was a bit firm and quite heavy. In general, everyone enjoyed their meal and we hormone in time. The downsides were the wall between the booths and the fact That 3 of us did not have forks in our set-up. read more

I've been here multiple times at this location, at the west end location as well as the one in Southeast Calgary. This place is highly inconsistent and can range anywhere from a 2 star to a 5 star experience. The food is generally good, but you should expect some inconsistencies with the proper preparation of your dish... especially if you are getting an eggs benedict. The service is also quite poor and I would grade it at 2-3 stars. That being said, I would still visit this place now and then because of the excellent food when it is prepared correctly. It does have one of my favorite eggs benedict (mushroom and brie) though. The buckwheat blessing is also a nice alternative! All of these dishes come with a generous serving of fruits as well and are visually appetizing! read more

My first visit to a Cora was a few years ago in Calgary and it was an AWFUL experience. Not really their fault though. We waited forever to get in, then sat down and looked at the menu - My husband at the time is allergic to nuts and doesn't like eggs and I am allergic to most raw fruit. So... we found it quite tricky to find things we would enjoy. Fast forward a few years... and move your sights to Edmonton. My aunt from out of town came in and this was the only place she wanted to go for breakfast. Sigh. Fine. As expected, the wait was long, and the line up was cramped into the front entrance, feeling very much like cattle. My aunt is in a wheelchair, so when she met up with me (i was halfway through the line) she waited outside, rather than trying to maneuver the stuffy line up. When it was our turn to be seated, the host (maybe manager? he looked like he might have been in charge), happily opened the exit door for my aunt to come in without having to make the whole line move. Okay... that was very nice of him. My opinion was changing. Sat down... service was quite slow and inattentive. I looked over the menu and found something that I actually thought I would enjoy! When the waiter finally came to take our order, I asked if it would be possible to get ONLY strawberries and bananas on my plate, as I am allergic to almost everything else. He said YES! i was very happy. My meal came (i don't remember what it was called... Peggy's something... it was basically a poached egg on toast with fruit). it was delicious and i was SO happy to be eating fruit that I was able to. So... why only 3 stars? My mom and I went back a couple weeks later because I was craving it. And again, I asked for only strawberries and bananas. The waitress said YES! but there's a charge.... Last time we went, my aunt paid and i never saw the bill. And the waiter didn't tell me that there was a charge.. I don't like finding out AFTER the fact that I'm being charged extra. read more

After much buzz, I finally checked out Chez Cora this morning. From what I understand, it was a smart move to visit on a weekday. It was quiet when I arrived at around 8 AM, but the place had filled up even closer to 9. Glad I didn't have to wait in line to grab a seat! The menus are kind of cool. I do love photos of the food in menus, although a photo of every item was overkill. I think the menu is actually really, really small - the photos just stretch it out to 4 pages when really it could all fit on one. The paper placemats on the table were tacky. In an effort to be healthy, I picked a fruit place with yogurt. I noticed kiwi in the picture, when I'm mega-allergic to. I told our waitress, who wrote it down and noted it's a common allergy, but when my food arrived, the fruit tower was adorned with kiwi fruit, plus kiwi crushed up into the yogurt. I had to wait a couple of minutes for her to come back and requested a new plate. She apologized and brought me back the only edible part of my order, the bagel and cream cheese. About ten minutes later, the rest of my order arrived, sans kiwi. The food was very average. I know a fruit plate doesn't sound very exciting to begin with, and the presentation was excellent, but that was about it. The apple slices were cool (but they still had seeds in them, so I had to re-slice them myself anyway) and the fruit fan was pretty, but the fruit really average, and the bagel was subpar. And honestly, $11 for decorative fruit is way too expensive, especially when my fiancee had a full plate of eggs and meat for the same price. When we finished up but still had full cups of coffee, the waitress dropped the bill on the table and simply said, "You can pay up front." It was really awkward because we clearly weren't ready to leave, but we sort of felt pressured to go. She never came back to refill our coffee. If a friend invites me here, I'll follow, but I won't suggest this place to anyone else for a breakfast date. I'll stick to quirky Barb and Ernies or follow Jessica D's recommendation to Hap's Hungry House from now on. read more

I was trying really hard not to like Cora's. Everybody kept bragging about how great it was, and I just didn't want to listen. But when two of your best friends want to head there for breaky, what's a girl to do? I've gotta say, Cora's has a few steps up on any breakfast chain. I'm not so sure about the colourful menu item graphics all over the walls, but I guess it makes it family friendly. Foodwise, awesome! The "mountains of fruit" included in all of the different dishes is impressive-not to mention it's fresh and full of flavour. My cinnamon bun French toast was especially tasty. I had to bring half of it home. Our server, Angela, was on the ball. Visiting our table often, cheerful and helpful. She brought ketchup to our table, decided it wasn't full enough and brought us a full container. Very few places I have been for brekkie serve fresh fruit and if they do it is usually melons or a small orange slice so needless to say I was in heaven to see a gorgeous helping of amazing fruit on my plate with my bagel & lox. After being told the wait at IHOP was 30 mins, we took our chances and drove down to Cora's. Worst decision ever. The line was out the door, and being that we were already starving didn't help. Every 5 mins or so, the hostess would call out if anyone was a table of 2 and people would shuffle past us . . . so if you're a group of 3 or more, don't come during "peak hours" 30 mins passed (I guess we could have just stayed at IHOP), we finally got seated. I settled for the Cora's Special - 2 eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, a crepe, roasted potatoes and toast. (I asked for my eggs to be fried and the yolk to be cooked) Our food arrived in a timely manner, and it looked good - one girlfriend had ordered the crepomelette and the other ordered a spinach and cheddar omelette. My meal was meh. The bacon was thin, ham, sausage and potatoes were good, my eggs were rubbery - they must have been overcooked them :( When we got up to pay . . . there was a line. Seriously?! It was about a 5 minute wait and I was just ready to get outta there. Yes, this was my 3rd visit to a Cora's within 2 weeks, and sadly it will be my last. Perfect place to have breakfast or brunch, attention is great and because this is that good it can get busy, but at Cora they know how to make you feel welcomed, while we were waiting for the table a really happy server came and offered a fresh orange juice to everyone. This was a really nice touch and the juice was actually fresh squeezed oranges! Their menu is endless, it has so many options, sometimes I wish they had less options so I wouldn't take that much time deciding what to order ^^, also you can customize your order as you like. Breakfast was really taste, the ingredients were fresh and the portions just perfect. I ordered an spinach and cheddar omelette, it came with toast and a cup of fresh fruit. The servers stop by quite often to top our coffee and water. Decoration, bathrooms, parking, background music all was really good. There was also a guy giving balloon animals to the kids. Brunch is as good as it gets! I loved Cora for all that it is. A party of 6 of us visited the establishment that found its roots in Montreal, Quebec - a breakfast/lunch eatery featuring crepes, waffles, eggs, French toast, and LOTS of gorgeous fresh fruit. At 10:45 am on a Tuesday there was still a line-up but small. We waited for about 5 minutes for our table which allowed us to sample the maple fudge near the exit door. As a party of 6, service was quick and on-time. Our server took our drink orders immediately and filled up our coffees efficiently. The menu? Beautifully displayed with mouth-watering pictures that made choosing our brunches quite difficult. I had come to Cora wanting to get the strawberry waffles but once i saw the menu i was torn in 3 directions. I love eggs and the 'crepomelette' (omelet rolled into a crepe) and the 'ben et dictine' (eggs benedict) looked super satisfying. I surprised myself using self-control and ordered the strawberry waffles with knowing i could try my friends plates as well. *Drool* I was in love (food love) with my strawberry waffle. All of our plates came out together, warm, and displayed just the way it looked in the menu. My waffle was one giant waffle, covered in custard, strawberry coulis (sauce), topped with ripe strawberries, and hugged with fresh whip cream. Oh my!!!!!! I was in heaven. Not being much of a sweet fan or a dessert person, my waffle was amazing! It had just the right texture and moisture i would hope every waffle to have, each bite was perfection and i had no need for any syrup. My friends who ordered the '1990's harvest', 'ben et dictine', and 'raspberry 4 lucie' thoroughly enjoyed theirs and recommended them for next time and the 2 others who ordered the same breakfast (the name slips me) but had eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns liked theirs other than this blueberry crepe side that it came with as it was too plain and doughy. Would i go back to Cora again? Definitely! The decor inside was clean, bright, and simple and the prices were very fair with generous portions - nothing we ordered was over $12. I almost never visit this particular Cora if I can help it. It's not the food, it's the service. There is one waitress who works here who never ceases to frustrate me. Even as she's taking your order, she begins walking off nodding as you get to the end, so doesn't hear all the extras. The first time we visited this location, I asked for a side of Swiss cheese with my Peggy's Poached. She thought I said "cream cheese" (becuse she was walking away at the time) and brought me this hunk of white stuff, so I had to correct her and make her bring the correct type. She aso brought the wrong kind of toast. I asked for multigrain, and she brought white. The last time, she just started filling my coffee cup before asking if I would like a refill. To other people, this may not seem like a big deal. But for me, it's huge. I'm on Weight Watchers, and unfortunately, I can't drink black coffee (which has no points). I hadn't yet finished the one cup I'd allotted for myself, and the points for the milk and sugar additions I had to add. I explained WHY she should always ASK before filling someone's cup, because it's not always a good thing. Also, lady, take the time to LISTEN to your customers' orders, and write everything DOWN so you get it right! I always have decent service at the location on 137th Ave, so that's where I'll continue to go. read more

My family and I were looking for a place to get a good breakfast on a Wednesday morning when I remembered someone telling me to check out Cora's. Since I live practically right around the corner we had no trouble stopping in to check it out. I really had no idea what to expect and could not believe how busy it was for a weekday breakfast! Fortunately, we did not have to wait for a table and were seated immediately. The menu had quite a selection of dishes which all, in one way or another, had a selection of fruit adorning them. Dishes included some waffles, crepes, and other breakfast items which all looked scrumptious. I really had a difficult time choosing what to order because the pictures in the menu made everything look quite appetizing. Being breakfast and all, I decided to go with the Cora's special which had bacon, eggs, sausage, potatoes, toast, crepes and fresh fruit. What can I say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and this plate had more than enough to get my day started off right! The bacon tasted amazing, I mean amazing! I can honestly say that the only bacon I have had better was the bacon I make at home. Nothing tops mine! But I digress. The eggs were prepared exactly the way I ordered them and the potatoes were perfect! Honestly, it tasted delicious. My only complaint, if you can call it that, was the crepes. Basically, I found it to be more of a really flat pancake but not what I consider to be an actual crepe. I found it to be a little tough and it doesn't suit my tastes, but don't let me discourage you from trying it. They had enough selections of them and others at my table enjoyed theirs. The wait staff were right on. It took our waitress a few minutes to attend to us when we first arrived, but given how busy the place was I was somewhat expecting it. And it wasn't like we were waiting terribly wrong wondering if we were going to get served or not. After she took our drink order she was right there for us. So, for any of you looking for a neat place to go for a more unique breakfast option, I would highly recommend trying Cora's. I don't think you'll be disappointed an it beats the traditional breakfasts you can get almost anywhere else. read more

I am a fan of Cora's. This is your typical breakfast place where you can go and get your pancakes or breakfast foods or whatever. I usually tend to go here on Friday mornings. One of the meals I would recommend is the Western Cheddar "crepeomlette". It's honestly delicious. I know I should branch out to different foods but for some reason I always end up getting this because I know how tasty it is. They also serve this meal with fresh fruit and toast. You have to get the raisin toast and have it with the peanut butter. It's delicious. The menu can be overwhelming at first but once you get through it there really are some great breakfast options. Depending on when you go the wait time for food varies. They don't seem to have the best system for getting food out promptly? I have seen people be seated way after me get served before me, and I've been served before tables that were waiting for food before me. This place is also busy af at all times of the day. However it doesn't really stop me from going because the atmosphere is nice and the servers are friendly. read more

Heard about this place in Calgary, in fact even tried to have breakfast there a couple of times, but an hour wait at any restaurant is not something I intend on doing with or without kids (and we had our 4 & 6 yr old in tow). There are too many other good places to eat at. Packed up and ready to head home we wanted something to fill our belly. We stopped at the IHOP, 45 minute wait. We stopped at Cora's Breakfast & Lunch Cafe, 15 minute wait. Hold on a second....15 minute wait - outstanding! And the line up moved quickly. Count. Us. In. Since it had decided to snow, the kids waited in the truck and when it was time to be seated I messaged them in. Our waitress was top notch. In fact all the staff were kid friendly and appeared to truly enjoy their job. Smiles and helpfulness all around. The food lived up the the expectations (my 6 yr old finished her plate) although some of the non seasonal fruit was a little bland (plums). Par for the course in Alberta as I have found any non seasonal fruit trucked in long distances has very little taste and tend not to buy it. We would love to try Cora's in Calgary and will only if the line ups cease to exist or get shorter :) It's getting 4 stars only because the decor & ambience were not really to my liking. read more

I've wanted to come here for the longest time but never realized how close it was to where I live. We came here several days ago, I think around 2:45pm- and the place was closing at 3pm. Our waitress was great. I'm sure she was looking forward to going home until we walked in near closing time. However, the entire time she was prompt and courteous. I really like the decor of this restaurant: bright, colorful and it lifts your spirits. The fruit art was amazing. I can't remember the names of our dishes, but the hubster and I shared one savory dish and one sweet dish (chocolate crepe). Everything tasted great and I plan to return in the near future. read more

Located in the unlikeliest of places - on Calgary Tr halfway between Whitemud and Anthony Henday. I've been there a couple of times and have always had to wait for a table! There's this huge line of people trying to get in and it usually takes 10-15 mins to get seated. It's a big area inside. Has several tables. Good for large families. So, now I wonder why no one else has reviewed this place yet. The menu has several kinds of omelettes, crépes, waffles, benedicts and what not. Almost everything comes with a generous serving of fruits. Simply put - it'd take you a while to figure out what to order. The chain started, maybe, 20 years back and since has opened up 100 locations all over Canada. So there you go - people like it. I totally enjoyed it. The reason for a 3-star is that it's too crowded and not a great place to have a relaxing and refreshing meal. Hopefully the mania will end one day and it might become a better place to visit. Might also reduce to a Smittys, which will be unfortunate. Go there, at least once! I'm sure you'll enjoy it! read more
