After my second visit with Dr Sauer I walked out of that office feeling 99% better. Finally some relief. Great night sleep. Walking great today. Upon getting the orders I was very apprehensive because of previously having to undergo Spinal taps. They all including Dr, Johnson very patiently assured me the procedure would be nothing like the spinal tap. Up until the day of my procedure they continued to assure me it would be ok. On the day of my procedure I was still so worried. Dr. Johnson took the time to sit down and explain the procedure to me before hand. The nurse had also reassured me during the intake process it would be just fine. The procedure went just as they said. I hardly knew when it was done and the doctor was awesome in helping me to relax and explaining every step as it was performed. The only negative was the scheduling nurse was out of the office and I have yet to receive my next appointment. The office and restroom facilities were clean. The facility itself is clean, well-kept, and professional. That might sound like a small thing, but after being sent to other places in the past, it makes a big difference walking into somewhere that actually feels like a proper medical office instead of something run down or questionable. I saw Dr. Sunil Aurora, and he was excellent. Very professional, thorough, and--most importantly--he took the time to clearly explain how the procedure works and what to expect going forward. No rushing, no talking over your head--just straight, understandable information. Right now, we're waiting on confirmation from the VA to approve coverage for four treatments, so that's the next step. But based on this first visit, I feel comfortable and confident moving forward with them. If the treatment side matches the first impression, this is going to be a solid place for care.

He is caring, listens, and explains things thoroughly. I am blessed to have Ortho SC, physical therapy, and Dr. Merritt for my orthopedic care. In addition, my physical therapist, Marian, has helped me reach goals I would never have thought I would in a short time frame after surgery. I highly recommend!!

The pain began gradually in my right buttock and extended down my leg, becoming so severe while shopping that I needed to rely on a shopping cart to reach my car. Concerned about the duration of this condition, I scheduled an appointment with Ortho SC for the next day. Although the pain subsided by the morning, the incident was unsettling enough that I decided to proceed with the appointment. I was seeking medical advice for my situation. I asked the PA a series of reasonable questions about my condition and her responses were not what I would have expected from a medical professional. Here are the questions and my interpretation of the answers. 1. What can I do to prevent this from happening again? ⁃ You can't. You have arthritis. 2. What should I do if it happens again and I can't walk ? ⁃ Make an appointment to see us again. 3. Can you provide something I can take to alleviate the pain until I can see you? ⁃ Try Tylenol 4. Should I consider physical therapy to prevent recurrences ? ⁃ If you think that would help. This is a very difficult review to write because I have been to Ortho SC for problems over the years and have been very satisfied with the care I was provided. This visit was a waste of my time. I guess I should have left after the nurse who showed us to the examination room said, "Why are you here if you have no pain," and had to be reminded that 24 hours earlier I needed assistance to get to my car.
