What a disappointment. Too bad because the inside of the restaurant is cute. The walls are a pale yellow and it feels warm and inviting. The seats and benches are all kept up well. My mom ordered eggs Benedict and she said it was excellent. The Hollandaise sauce was creamy and the eggs were cooked perfectly. There was a lot of fruit in the plate and the potatoes were cooked excellently. I got the Montreal meat skillet. The skillet has hollandaise sauce with one egg (one egg for a $20 plate?), potatoes, and cheese curds. It was pretty tasty. My biggest complaints are about the value and the service. I had to stir my coffee with a knife because I didn't get a spoon. And why doesn't a $24 plate of food come with a side of toast. And only one egg? It was good. Not a value. I would go elsewhere if you're hunting for a value, better service, or a full meal presentation. read more

I ussually have a better experince at a cora's. I ordered the chorizo ham skillette. With eggs over easy. The ingredients were just not great. It must be because of increasing costs and supply line issues. The ham was just cold cut sandwich ham cut up and put in. The chorizo sauage seemes more like an expensive hot dog. But i ate it all so it was not bad. Just could have been better. read more

I have a pet peeve about restaurants that are chintzy with condiments and napkins. Cheap is super unattractive. And I've only been to Cora a few times but one thing I've noticed is that their ingredients, condiments and "extras" all come at some sort of cost. Whether it's making you feel awkward asking twice for more PB and Jam ie: When you ask for more peanut butter they give you ONE extra peanut butter, than you have to ask for more, same with napkins. Or the simple charge fee for more sauce. And I say this all the time about breakfast places. If you don't leave a carafe of coffee at the table please be prepared to fill up a 250ml cup of coffee 3-7 times, 2 cups of coffee just isn't enough...Or...GET CARAFES. Btw I understand food costs are ridiculous. But please. Start leaving quality napkins and condiments AT the table. Don't make people beg. It's unbecoming. That being said. 5 stars. Try it or don't. Cora's food was yummy and there was a lot of it. I started with the kid's fruit cocktail which was orange, strawberry, peach and banana. I know this because the sign by the door hangs pics of pieces of fruit that are the special of the day. This is after a life size Miss Cora greets you at the door. The signage is overwhelming bordering on obnoxious and it is everywhere. Bright, bright colors - not a place to go to with a hangover. The portions are ginormous with the equivalent of a whole fruit basket on it. Half, a banana, half of a kiwi, strawberries, apples is a decorative fan, orange and a cantaloupe. This was in addition to the Eggs Benedict and a heaping amount of nicely seasoned potato wedges. Hubs got huge blueberry pancakes, the waitress asked if wanted some additional upsells at $1 or $2 more plus asked if he would like creamer size pure maple syrup at 65 cents a pop - he is a syrup hog so we went with with the non-pure syrup. He lived. There was a very Plesantville vibe going on which was comforting and terrifying at the same time; this was driven home when we were offered a piece of fudge on the way out the door. read more

I went here recently around 10 pm for breakfast. I ordered eggs Benny and it wasn't gord. The English muffin wasn't toasted, the ham is just sandwich meat. The worst part was the hollandaise. They keep it on a warmer for too long and the egg yolk slowly cooks. This makes it taste like old hard boiled eggs. The fruit was well on it way to rotten and the potatoes weren't even cooked, just soaked in oil and slightly warm. Also everytime I've been here they are very stingy on coffee. You get maybe a 4 ounce mug and they don't come back to refill it. Won't be back to this place. read more

Busy busy place... we got seated after a little wait (not too bad at all)... The servers were great. Very attentive, but not in your face. Very nice. The menu... a little large, but covers a lot of breakfast, brunch and lunch needs... I went for the Cora's Special... two eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, some potatoes, toast, a crepe and some fruit. For the price... pretty good deal. Coffee was pretty good too... could have used a little more refill action, but overall, pretty good. Best brunch/breakfast place I've been recently.... nope, Portland has two spots that fill this better.... but a really good deal. read more

5 of us went today at 12:55 for lunch; it was packed!! Ok, I understand it was busy; after waiting 10, 15 (?) minutes for a table, we sat and ordered our food at 1:20 (I know as my daughter texted me at that time , coming inside) At 1:50, like 40 minutes later, waitress came and told us printer didn't work, and our food will be late??!! I was not happy, but what choice we had, go somewhere else and do waste another hour? We waited, and I saw FIVE people who were in the line way BEHIND us, eating already half of their meal???? I asked a weatres, she was rude, saying she is not a cook??!! We are now almost fainting and angry, and then suddenly she came back at 2:10, like almost an hour after we ordered, saying they run out of english muffins, and can not make our meal we ordered?!! I snapped, asked for a Manager, told them I will never ever come back and stormed out!!! Went to Boston Pizza and in 20 minutes was eating happily ever after! I have been to Cora's several times. The fruit drink of the day is usually made from sour, unripe fruits. Today I ordered the Cora special without meat and asked to change the meat up for other extras. Great, flexible, right? Wrong. I got charged an extra $10 for the cheese, potatoes, onions and a blueberry pancake instead of sausage, bacon and ham. They would not negotiate. I've never been impressed with their simple, throw some fruit on a pancake menu. It's the simplest of foods done to a degree of absolute average quality. Their crepes are often dry. In half a dozen visits I can say I haven't once walked away impressed. I paid my bill grudgingly and for the last time went to the restaurant of mediocre, overpriced breakfast. read more

Hubby and I have gone to Cora's 5 times now. Good service once or bad service once can be hit and miss but we can claim it was excellent all 5 times. Bright, sunny atmosphere coupled with healthy, fresh food with great service......how can that not be super! Read that the sunny, pleasant atmosphere was terrifying?? We brought friends with us last time and they are still thanking us. We try to order something different each time, working our way through their menu. So far my husband's fav has been the steak Ben and Dictine (nope, I spelled it the way they do). So far I haven't named a favorite as everything is so spectacular I am having trouble selecting. Perhaps after 5 more visits I will have one! Do yourself a favor and drop in for a meal. They only do breakfast and lunch. Try to avoid standard meal times, as there may be a wait. If you do not like bright, friendly smiles and totally wonderfully healthy homemade food served with a great variety of fruit...stay away from Cora's. read more

Good food and attentive service make for a good weekend brunch with friends. Cora's is much better than other breakfast competitors in Red Deer if you are looking for quality, fresh meal not overwhelmed in grease. Their eggs benedict are the best! I've been here many times, my friends and family both really love this place. The breakfast is consistently very good, almost every dish has lots of fresh fruit and looks almost artistic. The price of almost every item is a bit high in my opinion, but it is quite good taste wise :). The coffee is good too, not bitter and cheap tasting like many breakfast places, but refills are slow to come around almost every time I've been there. The food is generally good, though the time lines are consistently disappointing. The last visit will be the last for foreseeable future. We didn't even make it to seating. We walked in, no line up, odd, but great! We stood with a hungry group consisting of a 5 yr, 3 year, 2 month and parents. A waitress made eye contact while refilling another customers coffee, but no 'hello' or 'someone will be with you' After several minutes 'Chrisitan' greeted and asked for how many. Replied. He said he would have to get a table ready. He walked around the less than half full restaurant (09:35 Sunday). People started to line up behind us, into the entryway. He came back from his walk around, and walked past us to ask the following line how many in each party. A nice manager did arrive and greeted us as he put his things near the till, though he quickly disappeared in the back The Christian then came to the front of the line and started discussing with a coworker the numbers in the parties and whose area should get the newly lined up patrons. Kids were restless. Time was up! I asked if there was an issue, 'no'. I then asked "Do I need to set the placing? There are piles of open tables, what exactly is the hold up?" Rude, maybe. But we are rounding the 7-8 minute mark of standing in line in a half empty restaurant. Every single time we have been there, we have witnessed tables heaped with plates, and waiters/ waitresses walk by. The previous visit had tables all around us getting their meals, though they had ordered after we did. There is break down in the cleaning, setting of tables and the seating of Patrons. We walked out, with the cheery 'Have a nice day' at our backs as we left. We went to Glens. It is was as busy as it has every been, especially with the restricted access with the highway expansion. Service was prompt and food was great...Guessing they have been getting more of Coras's business. Rightfully so. read more

Be prepared to stand in line so dress for the weather but it is well worth it.. The meals are presented artistically that you might want to take photo before it is gone. Fresh fruit that looks so good you will think it is artificial. A family favorite for all ages. The only drawback is that you want to come back so you can try all items on the menu.
