They use all the right distraction techniques to ease the nervousness that comes with new experiences like x-rays. The office is very clean, and the TV on the ceiling, friendly colorful environment (gifts after appts) is a great touch. Everything runs efficiently, and I've never had to wait at any of our visits. They do so well with my child, taking the time to talk to her directly engaging and distracting her appropriately through the exam so she doesn't get overwhelmed, while also keeping me fully informed. They explain any concerns clearly, provide tips / OTCs I can use at home, and point out things to watch for on the horizon so we can catch issues early. I really appreciate that balance of care for both child and parent. This office has consistently been a positive experience for us, and I believe the people/care here are absolutely worth the trip.

My son had a dental emergency, when I called first thing in the morning they were able to schedule him in. Have in mind that it's the Thursday before good night and Spring break week. They were so busy, but they dedicated their time to each child. This means a lot as a parent. We usually see Dr. Jason such a passionate doctor that loves his job, and you can tell that he wants to educate all the children about dental hygiene. He takes his time all to answer all the questions I have as a parent. Today, he was not there my son saw Dr. Meg. She is such wonderful woman and dentist (more like a wonder-woman). I always had good experiences at the dentist growing up (maybe because I never had a cavity until 40) but I have some friends with trauma from their childhood dentist experiences. Here they making everything calm but playful for both regular appointments but also this recent experience with a filling. They Explained all of it so nothing is a surprise, but they use kid friendly terms. They teach you about that before hand so you can use them too! They used laughing gas and a movie to help the little ones stay still and calm. They also took time to talk directly to my son about his habits and help him be informed instead of just me. He took it really seriously and on his own stopped eating an Apple right before bed (after brushing teeth) and changed his routine based on what he planned with Dr. Jason and he's just 4.5! I saw a review about billing being poor but I have always had great experiences with them!

I was told he would be seen faster if he was placed on a cancellation list and did not need to schedule a new appt. I called 6 months later asking where we were on that list and was told there was no such thing as a cancellation list and I should have made an appt. I was then told the next available is in August, an entire year later. This Dr is amazing but obviously prioritizes more patients over current ones.

Free toothpaste brushes and toothpaste tubes along with dental floss and picks there is a lot more than just a few things you walk out with. The dentist office offers water hygiene cleaning so not a lot of that horrid scratches and scrapping. That is definitely one of the reasons I love this place. Every time I went in for a routine cleaning, I left feeling like I'd sat through a timeshare…read morepresentation. Do NOT go to this dentist if you have any self respect. The last dental assistant I had was so rude and aggressive. I've never felt so uncomfortable in my life at a dr visit as I did that day. Pearl has really gone down hill. Every appointment came with a dramatic prediction: my bite was on the verge of catastrophe, a hairline fracture was potentially forming, major work was always just around the corner. Funny enough, the next visit would roll around and those "urgent" problems mysteriously disappeared--replaced by a brand-new list of expensive concerns. After I left Pearl I went to two different dentists who are highly respected in Charlotte and they saw none of the "issues" that Pearl made up. Ironically, the only cavity I've ever had filled was by Dr. Jenny herself--and she snapped at me during the appointment. If that's how she treats patients, I can only wonder what it's like to work there. Billing is also a nightmare. At every single appointment, they said my insurance covered everything, then I'd get a monthly text with an unpaid balance of several hundred dollars. I'd call the office, they said it's a mistake, and then I would get the text again a few weeks later. They are either trying to scam patients or they're incompetent at billing insurance. The cherry on top is how they try to brand their offices as "upscale" but it looks like they just Googled "luxury dental office" 15 years ago. The dirty white leather couches are more of a waiting room in a low-budget medical spa. I am appalled I went to Pearl for so many years. When I finally switched to a dentist I actually love, they told me they've heard the same story about Pearl countless times. Consider yourself warned.
