I completely understand wanting to wrap things up at the end of a shift, but if a business is still open, customers shouldn't be made to feel unwelcome for coming in during posted business hours. We specifically chose this place because of the great reviews, so this was a really disappointing first impression.

They have great food, was very happy about that aspect of my visit. And the young man Adam had outstanding service although it seemed like he needed help and was a bit visibly stressed. However while I was there, as I left, I walked past the "next door" area on my way to the restroom and witnessed the owner chewing out one of the employees. It was an awful site to see, some of the things he said were very aggressive. I felt very bad for the young man. As I slowed down the lady who was with them noticed that I was watching and came up to me to try and distract me, be she too was very aggressive. I think she said her name was Alejandra. I am a local and work for a tech company near by, I will sharing this with the whole office. I will not spend my hard earned money on a place that treats their employees like this. The food is pretty good, a bit overpriced for a taco shop, but I just cant justify horrible work places like that. Please Corazon, treat your employees better! Foul language and aggressive tactics have no place in the workplace. Never going back. read more

I am Mexican, from Mexico City, I am true Chilaga, Never in my 30 years in Santa Barbara, have I come across with such exceptional Mexican Food as they prepare it on Cocina Corazon. Los Tacos al Pastor, could be the same if not better than the ones they make in El Farolito, Mexico's best taqueria. I am so proud of my country's culinary roots and Corazon Cocina sure flies the best mexican cuisine flag with flying colors. Also the service is FANTASTIC, my only wish is that they opened a second restaurant on Coast Village Road, so I don't have to go all the way to downtown, but if that's the price I have to pay to eat the best TACOS in all of Santa Barbara, I will happily get in the car and drive downtown. read more

I have never been disappointed by anything I've ordered at Corazon. Chef Ramon does a fantastic job of incorporating traditional Mexican cuisine with fresh California ingredients. The price point is higher for Mexican food, but the quality is there. The Norteño is a skirt steak taco that I end up getting almost every time. The quesadillas are fantastic and have authentic Mexican cheeses with a choice of meat or veggies. My girlfriend loves the cauliflower taco, and was pleased with the butternut squash taco special on our last visit. The Tijuana taco is a shrimp and octopus taco that is absolutely incredible. Corazon and Los Agaves are my favorite "Cali-Gormet-Mex" spots in California. read more

Tried the El Paisa burrito with an horchata to go and it did not disappoint. Service was quick and friendly, which always sets a good tone. The burrito itself was packed with flavor: the spit-roasted pork was tender and savory, balanced nicely with beans, cheese, creama, crispy fried potatoes, and fresh pico de gallo. The salsa brought just the right kick without overpowering everything else. Portion size was spot-on--filling but not overwhelming. Be warned, burrito can be messy. The horchata was smooth and refreshing, the perfect complement to the richness of the burrito. Overall, a solid, satisfying meal. Would definitely recommend. read more

My husband and I eat here twice a month and have for many years. Their flavors amaze us. The consistency is exceptional. The freshness is always guaranteed (they are busy constantly!) The staff works hard and is efficient and fast. The kitchen is always clean and well-run (you can see it.) Tortillas and chips are homemade, as are all their sauces and salsas. They are, by far, the most creative Mexican restaurant in the whole county and perhaps one of the most in California. Our favorites are the ceviches and tacos, but you can't go wrong with anything they make! It is no wonder that the Michelin Guide found them and recommended them. read more

Hands down the best modern place for modern mexican food with high quality in Santa Barbra. They had a good variety of vegetarian food too. The tacos are all amazing! Made with fresh ingredients and handmade corn tortillas, the combination of flavors in all of them makes you want to to try them all. This place was a nice experience for us but the people working there made it even a more wonderful experience. If you are a vegan and you are looking for a place to try an exceptional food in your trip to SB then you should pay a visit to this place believe me you won't regret it. read more

Corazón Cocina is a fantastic Mexican spot in the Santa Barbara Public Market! I tried the beer-battered cod taco, and it was so fresh--nothing beats a squeeze of fresh lime to bring it all together. The combination of ingredients on the taco was perfect, bursting with flavor in every bite. They also serve complimentary chips and salsa, which were a standout. The chips were fresh and perfectly crispy, and both the green salsa and roasted tomato salsa were absolutely delicious. This restaurant was amazing! It has a sister restaurant that has a Michelin nod so we decided to come here and see what the hype was about. The hype was real, and the service and atmosphere was very authentic. The staff was knowledgeable and willing to adjust some of the menu items to our liking. This is my new favorite taco place! Located in the heart of the public market, there is usually a line, especially at lunch, but the food comes pretty quickly! I usually get the Norteno (insane beef taco) and the quesadilla Mercado (amazing veggie quesadilla that's more like a taco)! They have pickled red onions in the salsa bar which are like candy and take all their tacos up another level! read more

Incredibly flavorful food. I am vegan and eat here about twice a month. Their Cauliflower taco can be made without dairy and still carries a deeply satisfying flavor. The dates, sprouts, and fried avocado create a savory delight! The agua frescas are great. I like the sayulita ceviche, and the mole taco is good too! They also have great micheladas. It's pricey for a Taco place, but they use quality ingredients.
