Terrible food and service. I wait my order 45 minutes and when I went to ask the manager/owner for it, I participated to an embarrassing show. The owner/ manager was yelling to his employees vulgar and gross words. I have never seen in may life someone as disrespectful as he was. Clearly, Corazón Cocina policy is just step on their workers, offending and attacking them verbally. At last, a Mexican food restaurant in Santa Barbara I am looking forward to returning for more taste testing. The quality of the ingredients are fresh combinations of homemade delight. We had the sushi grade tuna in a red spicy sauce with watermelon, pomegranate seeds and persian cucumber, alongside homemade chips and avocado. Adding the pickled red onions was a plus. Our second dish was lime marinated white shrimp - meaty, not the usual rubber found in town- with mango, jicama, tiny, flavorful red tomatoes, persian cucumber, and more homemade chips with avocado. Our dishes were flavorful, light, healthy and large portioned. Looking around at what others ordered, there is something for everyone including grilled chicken (Mary's organic) and meat tacos, platanos and black beans. The bowl of Mexican rice looked authentically sublime. It appeared the owner was the woman handing out the final trays of food. That kind of quality control was reassuring as so many restaurants start out with a decent plate of food and it gets messy down the road. Sitting at the bar is fascinating watching the food being prepared in well orchestrated fan fare. I was impressed. Line was long, and food came out fast. We were in Santa Barbara for a weekend and came here twice because the food is so good. I highly recommend this place and the marketplace that it is in is fun to walk around. My husband had the Al Pastor tacos with homemade everything including the corn tortillas, they were delicious. I had the Sal De Mar tostada and if you like poke or sashimi then you would really like this, it was incredibly fresh, I liked it so much that my husband and I both had one 2 days later. When we come back to Santa Barbara, we will definitely be back here. read more

As a Dallas resident, I am exposed to many authentic, family owned taco restaurants. Corazon Cocina ranks in my top 3 taco experiences in the US! The selections were creative, healthy, and most importantly: Fresh. EVERYTHING was made fresh from scratch, from the tortillas to the salsas to the pastor on a spit, everything was made right there in front of us, in a space no larger than 500 square feet. The Chicken Mole and Al Pastor tacos are incredible, and on days they have the pork belly taco specials - don't pass those up, DELICIOUS! As stated by the previous reviewer, this place might not need another 5* review but it deserves one. I went here as part of a tour group - The Mission, The Town Hall and off to Los Olivos. This where we fueled up before the bus ride out to wine country. When the tour guide said Mexican, I groaned inside. I would choose any other cuisine over Mexican; I love guacamole and margaritas but that's about it. Of the over 600 restaurants this is the best we could do? That being said, the tour guide basically said what I had just said - she didn't like Mexican either but this was different. Yes, but she gets paid to say that, right? Wrong. we trundled in at 11:00 and filled the tiny restaurant. We started with guacamole and chips and then had the Al Pastor and the Norteno. The guacamole is the best I have ever eaten. Really. The tacos were out of this world. I was pleasantly full after one and stuffed after two. The food was fresh, well-cooked and the blend of flavors and seasonings was truly tasty. The tacos were freshly made and crispy enough to crunch but soft enough to fold. If I lived closer, this place would be on my short list of places to eat. Alas, it is 3000 miles away. But if you are in Santa Barbara and hankering for divine Mexican food, this is the place! read more

We heard about Corazon Cocina from a gal that we met on the beach in Santa Barbara. We went to eat there and the food lived up to the 5-star rating. All the ingredients tasted so fresh and the sauces were amazing. Alejandra educated us on everything they offerred and Ramon's cooking was outstanding! Gourmet Mexican food. This is the best Mexican food I've ever had. The shrimp tacos are made with wild Mexican shrimp that have zero "off" flavor. Order them on their home made organic blue corn tortillas (50 cents extra). So yummy! The chicken mole is also one of my favorites. It is all the special extras added to these tacos which makes them so good. The chef and owner has obviously put care and thought into developing perfect combinations of flavor which are so pleasing to the palate. I also appreciate that the chicken is Mary's organic. Makes the taco that much more flavorful and enjoyable to eat. Oh, and the guacamole is divine! read more
