Great coaching and programming. Professional-one of the few in the Chicago area who returned a call to set up a demo.

Other…read morewomen would approach me for conversation if I was at the bar, and I'd exchange casual smiles with people while passing them in the grocery store--just typical daily interactions. Rarely did I receive compliments on my looks or get hit on. But when people met me after I got "sexi smexi," it was a night-and-day difference. As some of my best friends have told me, I come across as "intimidating" and "mean." I've had people tell me that before they got to know me, they thought I'd beat them up. I've had guys tell me that other guys wouldn't date me because they're too afraid--that I'm "too sexy." I can walk straight to the front of any VIP line at a nightclub and get in. I get hit on significantly more, and I've even been offered a lot of money in exchange for my "time," which never happened before I joined UFC. People offer me jobs more often and try to recruit me for marketing. Rich men and athletes have taken me out on very luxurious dates... and let me tell you, it's slightly exhausting. I used to work from home and didn't see many people, so going into busy places made me anxious. Before, I just wanted to blend in. Now, all I do is stand out I'm not even wearing lip gloss, but I be poppin', and all these boys' lips be droppin'. I know it's just human nature. People are attracted to a juicy Caboosey--the compliments are endless. It's almost as if I can say nothing wrong. I assure you, I'm an awkward person, and I do say awkward things--but people jump in to save the conversation when that happens. Before I started working out, people were still very nice to me. I didn't get approached as much--especially at night--but I still received compliments. Just nothing compared to how I look now. My friends have even asked me to "dial it down" at the gym because they're tired of all the guys hitting on me and leaving none for them. To me, though, it doesn't matter what you look like. It doesn't matter if you go to the gym to build muscle, lose weight, stay in shape, or whatever--what matters is whether you're comfortable with yourself. If you want to be 10 feet tall and that makes you happy--do it. If a certain workout is too much for you and you love being the way you are--don't do it. Don't follow what others are doing--just be you, and let everyone else be them Because regardless of shape, size, or anything else, underneath it all, we're all 10s. What really matters is what's on the inside. "Maybe if we loved ourselves, it wouldn't be so hard to love each other." -- Skizzy Mars The whole point is not to value everything based on your looks, but instead on your achievements and how you feel physically and mentally. Working out has made me more physically fit , which has given me more confidence--but that confidence should have always been there, regardless of how I looked. Some people only notice your appearance, but there's so much more to a person than that. Maybe in a galaxy far, far away, there are people who are just specks of light with no bodies... because when we're 80 , we're all going to look the same ‍ I've definitely been my own biggest hater before--fueling myself with negativity because of how I looked, how clothes fit, and how I compared myself to others. It's an uphill battle to love yourself 100% of the time. There's a lot of negativity and pressure to be a certain way. It's okay to not know where to start. It's okay to take a step back or take a break. Don't let your mind play games with you--you are stronger than you think and capable of things you never thought possible. So baby gorl (or boi), wear whatever you want, treat your body like a temple, and just be you. Thank you, UFC, for being awesome and for being a place where people can grow and have fun.

The coaching staff has continuously pushed me from the beginning while keeping me safe. They make sure the weight is heavy enough to challenge me but realistic for my level of experience. I have always enjoyed the gym but after several months of watching my overall fitness progress, I'm a believer in CrossFit alpha dog. I have no intention of leaving this gym and am even doing a competition next month. I would recommend this gym to anyone that enjoys hard workouts, great coaching, and a welcoming environment. Crossfit alpha dog has taken one commonality in every member and turned it into something more than just a gym. It's a second home.

Here is the long and short of it- you will not find a better CrossFit total fitness experience then…read moreat AlphaDog. It's not an accident that it's the fittest gym in Illinois for CrossFit training. Working out side-by-side with ranked athletes is a huge inspiration. In my opinion, every other box is a distant second. Read on if you want to know why I feel that way... I've been a member here now for just over two years. But my CrossFit journey started before AlphaDog. CrossFit has changed the entire way I approach training. It has helped me to lose weight and get healthier. As a man in my 40s I'm not looking to win competitions or be the strongest in the room. But this whole style of working out has been remarkable. But it's amazing what you will put up with until you truly find something special. That's where AlphaDog comes in. I had been a member of a neighboring CrossFit gym for a couple of years and made some very good strides. Some might feel it doesn't take much to run a CrossFit box. Certainly the last place I went to felt that way. It was never clean. The equipment was deteriorating. All it really had was a good community. I was encouraged to check out AlphaDog. I heard many good things but was reluctant to make a change. From the day I started at AlphaDog, Andrew and Mike, the two owners, made me, my wife and daughter feel welcome. But what becomes very evident is the care that is taken to really program solid WODs every day. Strength training that builds on itself, not just day after day, but week after week, month after month. It is like none other that I have experienced. As for the facility, the place is always clean. The equipment is well-maintained. The classes are well run and organized. We brought someone to try it one time, and they said that they felt like everyone here looks like superheroes. Funny, many of the members do. But it is inspiring to see. They're more than happy to help and encourage. The coaching staff is excellent. And they will adjust the workout to any level. Andrew, in particular, is really attuned to what everyone is able to do. He will adjust my workout before I even ask. It's pretty incredible how well he remembers what just about everyone can do or is struggling with. That's pretty unusual. It's obvious they care about people's health and safety. When CrossFit is approached in this manner, I feel it is one of the safest and best ways to work out. I suppose it's like anything else. You will get out of it what you put into it. But I personally owe the staff and the management at AlphaDog a big "Thank You". Down 60 pounds with 20 more to go and my muscle mass increasing, I never thought I can get to where I am now. No one paid me to write this. I'm a business owner myself. Nothing makes me more satisfied , business-wise, than when one of my clients feels happy about their experiences. I think AD needs to know that they are doing a great job. And their strides to improve every day are evident. Keep it up!!! Thanks Andrew, Mike, Seth, Anthony and the rest of the AD staff....I type this as I recover from Murph

Weekly class offerings are diverse as well ("Boot Camps" are more HIIT, "Sweat Fest" is more cardio, "Circuit City" is a mix, etc ...). The best part though is the community. The people there are awesome! Every coach is a winner in kindness, welcome, and yet also pushing & challenging us all to work our bodies to the last second: As one Rough House Coach says, "You don't have to, you get to!" Beyond the great workouts though, its the warm community vibe that keeps us going more than anything. We've grown to really love these people.

I had resigned myself to staying on track for fitness and nutrition goals when I was at home then falling off during my work travel weeks. I ran across The Rough House and decided to try in hotel / at home personal training for a trip and that's how I experienced what The Rough House trainers can do. The trainer, Colin, took assessment information prior to my trip then customized and optimized the time we had. Not only did I not miss a beat for fitness and nutrition habits during that trip, but I also was sharper and more energized then slept better during my visit. What I appreciated was the attention to detail and how well tailored the workouts were to the needs and goals I mentioned, then also, to things I didn't know to ask for. Last thing, the workouts were fun.

His belongings were stolen from the men's locker room, and we immediately filed a police report. After over a month of no communication, management finally reached out saying they "might" have a suspect. About a week later, we were told the bag had suddenly reappeared in the locker room after a nightly check--which raises serious concerns. When we retrieved the items, cash ($300) and a YSL cologne were missing. There are too many inconsistencies, and the situation feels poorly handled and unprofessional. What's more concerning is the lack of accountability--calls to the GM have gone unanswered, and no effort has been made to offer compensation or reassurance. For a facility that markets itself as luxury, this experience fell far below expectations. I've also since heard of similar incidents happening in the men's locker room, which is alarming.

After months of being stuck in the same place, Brian took me to the next level. I lost 16lbs and 3% Body Fat during those 7 weeks. Was it easy?? Brian has hands-down given me that edge and provided me with a foundation for longevity, mobility, strength and conditioning. I came to him after my wife gave birth (I had gained 15-20 pounds when my wife was pregnant). I not only was out of shape, but also experiencing various pain in my hips and legs from my workouts (lack of stability strength on top of lots of running). I lost 25-30 pounds with Brian, but not only that - I now am in a much better position with my flexibility, strength and conditioning for extending my long-term health and fitness. This comes from a focus not only on workouts, but also on nutrition. Brian helps to shape workouts to your preference and helps to focus in on what is working and what is not with your eating habits. Losing weight becomes very easy - frankly, I now work to keep weight on! Finally, Brian is very knowledgeable and overall a great guy. He is easy to work with and accommodating to clients - especially those with demanding jobs (e.g. law, finance, etc.) Would highly recommend Brian!!
