My friend and I were there when the doors opened at 11am for his retirement lunch. The helpers were all friendly, especially Ashley. The store appeared to be clean. I ordered a Large Steakhouse Bowl and my friend ordered a Large Steak Bacon Bleu. The bowls were made pretty quick and appeared to be fresh. I think we both liked what we ordered. I would probably come back again sometime, but most people I know don't want to dine here. My retiree friend likes it, was the first person to tell me about it, but neither of us had been back in years. I think it is worth a try for everyone. It is a more healthy option for dining. I have been going to this CoreLife routinely since before it shut down, so around 3 years now. I have seen this store go from being a fun place to go to, with generous portions and decent prices, to being a place that feels like they are liquidating their customers. I ask for extra feta and I am charged .50 cents for two little scoops of feta for a LARGE bowl. I ask for avocado and I am charged .50 cents for avocado but then I get part of the peel in my salad. When I ask for salad on top they give me a few sprinkles of lettuce and it feels as though I have to ask twice before it starts looking like a salad. I love the food here but I might start taking my business elsewhere because of the constant tightening of portions as well as the poor customer care. I was told that "this place was closed before due to over portioning" when I know that's not true. 16$ for a salad is already pretty expensive. I can get a salad the same size if not larger at Longhorn across the street for 8-10$. This place originally closed because of staffing shortages (as I was told). There are a couple workers here that are great but for the most part, the management and ownership seem to be driving this place into the ground once again. Sad to see. read more

While we had some minor issues with delivery, but the food was so good, we decided to have a "dine-in" experience. We weren't disappointed! My wife went with the Spicy Ginger Steak and Rice Noodle bowl. As described, broth, tender steak cubes, kale, broccoli, carrots and scallions with ginger, cilantro and a side of sriracha. There's lots of broth in this dish, so my wife got a "to-go" container and I have no doubt she'll repurpose that extra broth into one of her amazing soups as the weather gets cooler. An absolute A+. My dish was the Spicy Thai Chicken and Rice Noodles. Also, as described, with crisp napa cabbage, sprouts, scallions, peppers, cilantro and Thai chili sauce. The noodles are cold - but that just adds to the complexity of the dish. The flavor was so delicious, I didn't even bother adding the cashew dressing. I might have saved a few calories. Another A+. The restaurant staff is friendly and fast, the dining room was clean and while a little on the noisy side; not really distracting. Eating healthy at restaurants is usually boring ... not here. Lots of choices (you'll have to convince me to try something other than my Thai chicken) ... and they even have wraps and tacos with your favorite fillings. I've always been a huge fan of places that have food that come in bowls. That may seem silly to you but to me, nothing beats enjoying delicious cuisine such as poke or even soup out of a bowl. CoreLife Eatery does an excellent job of offering such an experience with their incredible selection of healthy dishes to choose from which traditionally come served in a bowl or you can have your choice of having whatever item you choose to be served in a wrap (of which the latter is not an option at the time of this review). The menu has multiple offerings from Korean BBQ Ranch to pulled pork and even tuna all come served with various ingredients such as purple rice, cilantro, cheese and an assortment of other tasty toppings. The setup is much like what you'd find at places like Qdoba and Chipotle where you wait in line, let them know what you like and what ingredients you don't want in your entree and you watch as they put your dish together. On this trip, I decided to go with my favorite meal, the BBQ Ranch Chicken, everything is put together very nicely in your bowl which you can choose from a regular sized bowl to a large bowl. The presentation of every meal served looks very professionally done which adds to the attractiveness of this restaurant. If you're expecting to find Coke or Pepsi products here, you won't find them, but instead CoreLife Eatery has a great selection of organic drinks to choose from such as Mandarin Cardamom as well as Beet Lemonade among others and all of which have various tastes to suit your palette. CoreLife Eatery also has a very casual look and vibe to it so it makes for a great place to bring anyone young and old. I really enjoyed my Southwest salad. The chicken had good flavor & everything was fresh. The jalapeño dressing or something in the salad had a little kick but I loved it. The large was really big but worth it for a good filling dinner. Service was good and they helped answer a couple questions I had as a first time customer. My friend took a group of us here after bowling and i am so happy she introduced us to Corelife! Reminds me of all the healthy but delicious and decent sized meals made in NY since we seem to be on a health craze. Perfect way to get in your veggies, good carbs and protein! Build a bowl or pick from their choices for a warm bowl or salad. The only problem you will have with this place is MAKING A DECISION because there are sooo many good choices. I can't wait to come back to try a bunch of different bowls and combinations!! I made a bowl with spicy chicken, quinoa, chickpeas, kimchi, egg, edamame, and broccoli. You get to pick a base and 5 sides and meat is extra but even so it cost about $10 for a decent sized portion. For prechosen bowls/options you can also pick a small or large size. The ranch flank steak and falalel looked super good. My friends ordered their own salad bowl and spicy thai chicken bowl which they all said was pretty good. Lots of seats and areas to sit in and chill. Plus lemonade or drinks you can try out. I tend to think of CLE as a poke restaurant with other options. Okay, that's not a great description of it, but Louisville seriously lacks poke places, and I can get a very satisfying ahi tuna bowl here. They actually have a diverse variety of bases, proteins, dressings, and toppings, including difficult-to-find options like shredded beets and jicama. Everything is fresh, service is friendly, and serving sizes are generous (at least for the large bowls, which seem a better value than the small). I'm deducting a star, only because their logistics are confusing. Two examples: in-person you can get up to five toppings in a bowl, while on the website you can get up to six (even though the verbiage on the site is even more confusing about that at this time). Also, they have a pick-two deal that states a certain fixed price, but in reality that price seems to vary based on what you order as part of the combo, in a way that is totally unclear. Anyway, I come here at least a couple of times a month, and find CLE to be a welcome addition to a city that is short on this type of fast-casual option. read more

CoreLife is a super concept; I love the idea of a light meal with fresh, vibrant ingredients, and they've nailed that here. The menu offers a lot of variety, a lot of flavor, and I left feeling satisfied without feeling stuffed & "blah." I ordered the small Korean BBQ grain bowl for dine-in, as well as a lemonade (fresh squeezed in house) and a chicken Cobb salad to go to take to work the next day. The bowl was delicious, moderately spicy, and had a nice portion of meat. The only complaint is that the meat was hot but all the other ingredients in the bowl (sprouts, rice, cucumber, fried egg, broccoli) weren't warm, so it was a odd mix of temperature. There is a lemonade bar with several flavor combinations, and there are small cups to sample with before you make a decision. I genuinely enjoyed the cranberry cayenne lemonade, so that was what I chose to put in my glass. I sampled the honey ginger flavor & wasn't pleased with that one at all; tasted like bitter ginger water? Not great. Overall, I will return. Wanted to try something new and we were in the area and picked corelife eatery. I was disappointed. You go through the line and order and wait for your food at the counter. I ordered the Thai noodles dish with chicken. My disappointment was that the noodles were cold and there was lettuce mixed in my dish and thus the dish was not appetizing. I should have know when they put cold dressing on my dish. Flavor was ok but nothing to write home about. My husband had the kale salad with chicken that again for me was just ok. He did like it. We drank water although they have numerous drink dispensers with flavored drinks, not sure what the basis of those drinks were. Stuff was fresh and servers were friendly but not my thing. read more

Update: my palette has been updated. Haha! Came back today(3/26) and it was good. I did a build your own with black beans, romaine, corn, cucumber, carrots with chicken and ranch. I actually got the Brussel sprouts this time because I wanted them. This isn't my Go-To kind of place but my family wanted to give it a shot. It looked good but was hard to know what to get. I chose the Ranch Flank Steak Bowl as it looked good. It was good, I would prefer a Steak dinner at a nicer restaurant for the price. They didn't have the roasted root vegetables, which was what I wanted. If I had known that all they had were the Brussels sprouts, I would have likely made a different selection! The ranch was AWESOME and mixed with their broth they put on top, was really good! My son got the kids power plate which wasn't really appropriate for a one year old. I got the broccoli instead and it was hard and cold and loaded with flavor. It was okay for me. The chicken was kind of hard and chewy so it was hard for him to eat. But he loved his oranges. Kind of upset I waited this long to try this place and even more upset they don't have a location on the Louisville side of the river. This place has a ton of options from bowls to plates from meat and vegetable dinners to soups and salads. Everything on the menu is natural, gmo free, antibiotic free etc. So definitely one of the few intentionally healthy spots with such a wide selection you are bound to find something you will love. Restaurant has the same set up as a qdoba or chipotle with a line and all the items out in front of you, so wait time is minimal and they have plenty of seating. My first experience with core life: As I approached the counter I asked the gentleman what he would recommend as it was my first time...his response, "Oh, I'm Vegan". I stood there in stunned silence waiting for him to talk about the menu but he never did. So I ordered a Steak, Bacon, and Blue Cheese green bowl.(At other places this is called a salad). My wife ordered a southwest grain bowl. Both were served at room temperature. My wife ordered a lemonade....I've never tasted a lemonade like this. If a cactus could urinate this is what it would taste like. I opted for water and was given a 6oz. cup as a shame sentence for not paying for a drink. Both entrees were served room temperature. The southwest grain bowl was just filling for a burrito but not in a burrito. It was bland and neither one of us enjoyed eating it. Did I mention it was at room temperature, and yes, I took it back up and they said it comes that way. Mine was okay but I would consider that the salad that usually comes before a meal. To add to the narrative I ate all of mine and finished hers on principle as to not waste food. We left and were still hungry....so we had second dinner and enjoyed a burger and fries at a local tavern. If you're into lying about enjoying eating sad and depressing room temperature organic all-natural potpourri with a fancy name then I'm sure Corelife is your jam. Recently my wife and I had a follow up visit to Corelife. Our initial visit, a month or so ago, was impressive, but I ate fairly light that day and this time decided to beef it up a bit--or, rather, "potato it up", because I opted for the "Sweet Potato Buddha Bowl." Yum, yum, yum. Whoever created this wonderful concoction needs a blue ribbon. The dish is a beautifully flavorful mixture of spinach, quinoa, black beans, cilantro, red salsa and more, and was, for lack of a better word, addictive. The portion was sizeable, and I chased it with a cup of heart-warming beef broth. My wife opted for the Southwest Chicken Salad, and although I can't personally review it since I had enough on my own plate to eat, she enthusiastically affirmed it was "5 out of 5 stars." As with my late-Winter visit, I enjoyed the variety of juice drinks, this time opting for a Vanilla and Fig drink, spiked with a bit of Apple Cider Vinegar (don't be deterred if ACV is not your thing--it's subtle here) and a refill cup of some kind of delicious and super sweet drink made from beets. We chose the patio once again for our dining experience, this time a bit warmer than our previous visit. I would love to see Corelife eventually expand the outdoor dining area if at all possible, but the present surroundings are very comfortable albeit limited in capacity. I want to conclude this review by praising the staff, who, once again, were gregarious and super-attentive. They are well prepared to answer questions and do their best to make sure you are happy with your order before you run off to enjoy it. All in all this is a wonderful highlight of Clarksville dining, and we will certainly make it a favorite stop of ours this Summer. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
