We were looking for a lite lunch, and McAlister's salads fit the bill. My wife ordered the Southwest Chicken & Avacado, and I just ordered a regular side salad. Honestly, each of these salads was enough for two. The Southwest salad was a tad skimpy on chicken and the side salad was a tad heavy on the croutons. Both salads had a variety of lettuces, cut up tomatoes, cucumber, and red onion. Our choices of low cal salad dressings were limited, so we went with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and we tried the raspberry vinaigrette. Lots of sugar in this one. Make sure you get your dressing on the side. With only two registers, the ordering process is rather slow. But the servers never rush and guide you through the process if you're unfamiliar with the menu. Our salads were delivered to our table promptly. But here's the real bonus, lunch came in around $22. Just a few bucks more than a visit to a burger doodle, and a much healthier option. read more

Young female worker at the counter was RUDE!!! I asked for crackers for my husband's soup and she literally just pointed. She could have said they're over there by the napkins or here I'll grab you some but no she used no words, just pointed!!! Ewwww! Your mom is ashamed of you and your bass should fire you. Either the staff is all new, or poorly trained. The quality of Service and food has definitely gone down from their early days. I didnot get a receipt, a pickle or lemon for my water. The French dip beef had a strange flavor. My sister's "toasty" cheese was not toasted or toasty. The prices are ridiclous...$18 for a sandwich and some potato salad?? As far as delis go, it's not bad. It seems like there's a distinct difference in carry out vs dining in. The couple of times we've sat down to eat, the food was decent. Id probably say 3.5 stars. But the couple times we ordered take out, the food was borderline substandard. Half the sides weren't included in the order, and I swear they must pre wrap the pickles days in advance. This is the 2nd late afternoon that I have visited and the store is so dirty. I counted more than 10 tables that had dirty dishes on them and food all over the floor. Not one person in the lobby attempting to clean a table. I ordered a Southwest Chicken and Avocado salad only to get a salad with NO Avocado! Always excellent food but a bit pricey. HOWEVER, getting rid of table side app ordering really hurts this place. Their menu is hard to read and their cashiers ALWAYS rush you especially if there is a line. The only difference from ordering on the app is I get exactly what I want. Good place for a light lunch. Food is decent. I am visiting from out of town and I have been here a few times before. I got the chicken club and it was surprisingly good. The chili was sweet, which may be intentional so I guess it just depends on how you like your chili. It was quiet and clean. This is the closest one to me so I go here probably more than I should. Each time I go the service is about the same, nothing over the top by any means. The staff are mediocre at best and never really seem to enjoy being at work. They're just going through the motions and not really taking care of their customers. Thankfully, the food always tastes good and each time my orders have been correct, whether it be an online order or going there. I've waited the same time either way I have ordered, so the online option doesn't seem to be any quicker. I ordered the blt & a, and tomato and cucumber salad. Do not get the tomato and cucumber salad. It tasted like it had been pickled way too long and tasted horrible. I'm such a creature of habit. I love this place so much but I get the same thing every time I go. Lol I always get the Turkey jalapeño crunch sandwich with jalapeño chips as my side. I can usually only eat half so I get excited when I have leftovers for lunch or dinner for another day. I sound obsessed now. lol But if you haven't been, please go check it out, there's plenty of locations in just about every area of town so there should pretty much be one or two close by everywhere. Great food is best when you enjoy the restaurant. The McAlister's in Clarksville meets that standard. It is without a doubt a true "wow" experience. The place was spotless the to go condiments were full and the bathroom was clean...let's eat here. The staff is always smiling and more than willing to help when you need to modify a sandwich or salad. I love the baked potatoes..they are humongous and if I'm eating a sandwich it has to be the Reuben! Each meal comes with chips and a pickle...extra pickles are available with a small up charge. Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting McAlister's Deli for my inaugural visit. My wife and I had to mil around a bit to find a suitable place to sit due to social distancing, but once seated we downloaded the M.D. phone app (super convenient) and just waited for our drink and food orders. Soon, we were greeted with courteous service and drinks. My McAlister's Famous Tea, with a shot of blackberry, was refreshing and flavorful. My wife had a Savannah Chopped Salad and found it to be delicious and fresh, with a plethora of ingredients, including Gorgonzola and honey roasted almonds. I opted for a Horseradish Roast Beef and Cheddar, but only half a sandwich, deciding to combine it with a soup bowl. I opted for a Veggie Chili which sounded perfect for my diet. So here's my honest synopsis: The sandwich went perfectly with the chili, an ideal compliment, and I was very tempted to "dunk" my sandwich more than a few times but wanted to evaluate the RB on its own merits. However, the chili, in my view, overshadows the sandwich in this particular case. The RB is fresh and the horseradish is a nice compliment but the BOLD flavor was in the chili instead of the sandwich. Without the horseradish, this is a somewhat ordinary roast beef lunch offering--not bad, mind you, just "standard". Having said that, McAlister's offers an almost endless variety of sandwiches that widely range in terms of ingredients, flavor, and spice--oh, AND calories, which they courteously disclose for the consumer. But back to the chili. My veggie chili was perfect on this rainy early Spring day. I did not find myself longing for meat, and the all-bean chili really hit the spot, perfectly seasoned and a decent amount for the price. Just one minor gripe: a few more cracker packets would be nice to finish off the chili with. Although it's not full service, a very attentive staff worker checked on us from time to time though I declined a drink refill. We will definitely be returning to McAlister's: I wanted a little more spice on the bite for my sandwich, but I am quite sure that is easily achieved given the impressive and rangy menu. read more

They made it very vocal about disliking qdoba when a young man was trying to order his food while wearing his qdoba work shirt. My coworker had a savannah chopped salad here and two hours later was sick! I ordered the horseradish beef sandwich and was sick a couple hours later. So sick my husband had to pick me up from work!! Unsanitary conditions and a bunch of kids goofing off. My daughter works here and even told me they serve food they drop....disappointing. Management get your food sanitation together. read more

A truly great sandwich, i got the Italian w/o olives. Generous portions and just a really good meal. The sweet tea with peach is great too. The service was excellent also. So, why only 4 stars? It's a small thing in the overall picture of all the things to skimp on they give you the tiniest sliver of a pickle and a tiny scoop of potato salad. The two cheapest items on the plate and thats what they choose to cut corners on! The sandwich is more than generous on meat and well made. This may be angry old man syndrome but it's all that they did wrong and would cheap and easy to fix. All that being said, i will be back often. read more

Nothing quite like your order being 20 minutes to get to you and then it actually being cold once it's there and no one coming by to see how you're doing but going to the table next to you seven times by the same manager. I will start by saying that this is definitely not my scene. The food is mostly cheap lunch meats and baked potatoes with various fillings, along with Rotel Queso that a lot of us make at home. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, its just the prices are high for what you get and the place is always packed butt to gut with people who love everything about this chain. I would never come here if it weren't for the fact that I work late, this place is right down the street and serves lunch-esque food at a later hour, and that their online ordering is a breeze. So imagine this: I'm at work, its 6:00PM, time for my lunch. I want a conventional lunch of a sandwich, salad, potato chips, cookie, soup, etc. Everyone is getting off from work and Veterans Parkway is an absolute mess from people getting on/off the expressway. Well, here comes online ordering. I order, it says its ready in twenty minutes, I leave a few minutes before that time and I arrive just as they're sitting my finished to-go order on the counter. Presto, pay for the food in the store (I opt out of adding my CC number online, we share our browsers), grab my lunch and wade through the hungry masses to eat quietly at my desk (I hope my boss doesn't read this!). So yes, its really easy with online ordering, the food is ready when they say it will be and the food is pretty much exactly as advertised. My main few problems with this place is its always packed, even on a Monday night, people are always mad at the kids behind the counter (cut them some slack, they've had school all day!), they're just really not a nice bunch, and the prices are pretty high for a cheap sandwich and Lay's chips. My advice: Order online, save a few bucks and get the Pick 2 (a lot like Panera's) and eat anywhere but inside this place. It is clean, but the guests could drive you up the wall. I've never had bad service, nor bad food at McAlister's Deli. This location spins like a very busy top with corporate nostalgia stickers. There are always quite a few people eating inside, but the staff never fails to smile and is generally helpful. They even come around and deliver refills if it the place isn't just packed. The food is good. Nothing here is going to blow your mind, but it will fill your tummy. All of the choices are standard fare, with sandwiches, soups, salads and baked potatoes being your main choices. I also like their cookies and rice krispy treats. The "Choose Two" combo is a good deal and the chicken cobb sandwich is very good. Overall, probably one of the better choices you can make on Veteran's. read more

McAllister's remains one of my favorite delis in/around the area. Yes it is a chain, but it is so quality for what it is! Leagues above Panera, IMO. I opt for the pick 2 for $7.99. Add a tea and a cookie and this meal easily ends up around $12-13. Kind of high but for the quality is worth it. Though last time I have to say my sandwich half was pretty small. I was very hungry so maybe I overestimated it, but I woofed it right down. Could have been because it was so tasty, too. From the sandwiches to the soups, the tea and cookies, you can't really go wrong here. Sammies can come hot or cold, just let them know. The employees were working hard and had friendly faces and attitudes. It was nice to see them checking on things and people frequently to keep a well run machine. Why did I only give 4 stars? The agony of trying to give put the right amount. So was there any problems? No, ordered on line easy enough. Food was fresh when the brought it out to us. They even brought out our drinks while we waited for our food. Never mind I am going for the full 5 stars baby. Food was great, service was too notch. Yea they deserve it. When I lived in Tennessee, I used to go to McAlister's quite often but they eventually closed it down for some reason. So sad, but I was happy to see one in Clarksville, IN. The menu had changed slightly but was enthused to see a Veggie sandwich and veggie chili on the menu. So I ordered at the counter and had a seat. Where I was seated I was able to observe the interaction with the customers and the cashiers and customer service was excellent. The restaurant was clean, which is a huge plus during lunch hour. My food came relatively quick and was delicious. The chili had a great taste and the half veggie sandwich had a wonderful taste with some type of sauce to accentuate the flavor.
