Such shock to see CorePower Cherry Hills studio in such stage of neglect. It used to be my home studio, where I would spend hours and hours of practicing yoga. Even though, some few good teachers are still there, studio overall turned into a place where I don't want to go anymore or practice anymore. Especially bad are Men's locker rooms. Strong smell of urine, dirty floors, disgusting shower stalls, burned lightbulbs, that haven't been replaced in months are just few things you see immediately upon arrival. I wanted to remind studio managers of an old Sanskrit word "śuddhi" - cleanliness and purity. I'm really wishing to see some changes, so I could come back and spend as much time as I used to, at that wonderful location. read more

BEWARE as there are a lot of car break-ins at this location AND Core Power is aware of this issue. They have done NOTHING about it, but add one camera inside the studio. I went to a 7:45am yoga class, walked out and my at and two other cars were broken in to. Waited until 12:00 pm for police to arrive that day. CP response was that, "You live in a big city and should be used to crime." After being a member for 10 years they refunded me only half my membership for that month (after arguing with them) and cancelled my membership immediately. It seemed like I was more of a headache to them instead of standing by their mission of, "Community. We unite with open hearts and inspire real connections, in the spirit of service, to encourage everyone to thrive." After being a loyal member for over 10 years, they really do not care. I was just a number to them. I have since started going to a new yoga studio where the owners really do treat their members like a community and are very caring, inspiring, and thoughtful. I came here again recently and was not disappointed. I love the location, the ample free parking, the C2 classes, and the fact that they're on Classpass. I took a class with Kristin and it flowed seamlessly. The heated room was also perfect for my sore muscles as well as with how cold it has been in Denver lately! My mom and I did our free week here after I had just moved to the area. The facilities are nice, our instructor was great and since we came midday on a weekday we almost had a private class. We are both instructors trained in different areas of yoga and we both agreed the instructor was very knowledgeable and we'd love to come to her class again. Sadly I can't remember her name but she had blonde hair! I will say this core-power was a little smaller than others i've been to but they seem to make good use of the space. I've never been into yoga. For some reason, I could never take my mind off of things long enough to focus on my breathing and twist my body into strange shapes. That all changed upon my first experience at Corepower. One of my best friends is addicted and said she would only eat dinner with me IF I went to yoga with her beforehand. Well, I really wanted to go to this new restaurant, and if yoga was the price I had to pay, I was going to suffer through. However, what I experienced was far from suffering. As my C2 class went on, the sweat built up, and I became my flexibility set in, I found myself relaxing and feeling the best I had felt all day. I loved the teacher and the class flew by. Something about the heat, dimly lit room, and soothing voice of the instructor, made me want to focus and truly connect. I got one week free (something you can do by just walking in) and within four days had already tried two other studios- one on the hill in Boulder and the other on Colorado Blvd. All of them are a little bit in terms of the teachers and studios, but I have had enjoyable experiences each and every time. This location is also offering a bootcamp and another weight loss class, making it so much more than just a yoga studio. Overall, I could see myself getting hooked on Corepower Yoga. Word to the wise- don't plan on going out afterwards as you will be very sweaty and need a shower. Good news is that the locker rooms are really nice and have just about anything you need to get refreshed and out and about again! read more

Can I just say, I love CorePower? No, let me say it - I love CorePower. Period. End of sentence. It's a f-a-c-t. I hate to admit (this pains me, really), but I may have developed a stereotype over the years. This kept me from ever pursuing yoga on my own because I felt I wasn't yogi enough, or green enough, or zen enough... (When did I start thinking this way?) I've had the opportunity to practice yoga a teeny bit here and there but never at a real studio. After being reintroduced to it recently, I decided to do some research, found a "deal" for CPY (hallelujah! Because this place eats your money faster than a hungry buddha), and ponied up. My first experience was the HPF by candlelight. Wow. That's all I can say. Wow. Would you like me to put some substance behind that? Allow me - the next day, I had a sore throat, felt exhausted, had a semi-lousy day (you know how you can pull out every little excuse when you want to...), however, I dragged my butt back to the candlelight yoga at 8PM. Yes, folks. You read that right. It was not convenient, I didn't just trick myself into driving there straight from work but had several hours to mull this over. After all that mullin' I still went. It was incredible. Even better than day 1. I may have had a couple tears stream down my face (I barely cry.. What is happening??). CorePower, I don't know what you've done to me, but I like it. I like it ah-lot. CPY is invigorating, rejuvenating, a therapy session, life-changing, relaxing, and renewing. The way I feel during and after a CPY session is incomparable. Yes, it looks like a lot of money, but do any of those adjectives sound appealing to you? If so, go. Go now. Because you won't just get one of them, you will get all and even more. I really like this studio and have always had positive experiences here. Today I tried a low heat C2 class before, and I highly recommend at least trying it. While I did work up a good sweat, the class felt more balance and deep stretch based. I really enjoyed the teacher, Patty Novak. She chose some really interesting poses and explained them all really well. read more

This and the Aurora location are my favorite! I really like that there are more classes here, cause it's bigger, but I also love how small and intimate the Aurora location is. CorePower is the McDonalds of yoga. By this I mean that the experience is highly standardized and consistent but totally mediocre. Each class begins with the "instructor" offering some lame, phony personal story of how their own life experience informs the day's session. Then the class begins but to call it a class suggests that it is a place where learning happens. It's not. The yoga instructors call out positions but they don't correct or adjust anyone. The "teachers" don't touch the students. They don't offer feedback or guidance. All they really seem to do is monitor the quantity of hot dry air blowing into the studio. So don't come here expecting your practice to improve. And don't come here expecting a yoga class led by teachers who know what they're doing. Come here if you want to sweat in an artificially hot room and do a bunch of sun salutations. Every. Time. Because there is scant variation or creativity allowed in the poses. It's lameass chain store yoga for people who either don't know better or who aren't willing to drive to someplace better. On your way out prepare to be upsold on monthly class cards. In sum, you would get a comparable yoga experience by watching a video in the comfort of your own home. On the plus side the locker rooms are clean and the shower facilities are pretty good. read more

Aside from the fact that I am nowhere near the shape that I think I am in, this place makes you feel like a bad-ass body builder. Running on an average of working out maybe 4 times a month, I was a tad hesitant to get back in the swing of things at this level without properly easing my way into it. One would think - oh it's just a little yoga sculpting, how hard could it be?! Well - I neglected to do my research and just jumped right in. Word to the wise. The sculpting yoga class is not your average Vinyasa, Bikram, or Ashtanga: it is essentially a very fast-paced, challenging workout implemented with circuit training with weights and some Yoga positions in above average heat. In short, I wasn't prepared for such intensity. Imagine the insanity workout in uncomfortable temps. I am not going to try and paint a pretty picture as I was sweating in places that I wasn't aware had sweat glands; however in retrospect I am proud of myself for accomplishing such a behemoth of a workout. The instructor running the class was intense and did well with keeping the energy up. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and offer your first week free if you are a newbie! What a wonderful promotion. The facilities are also an asset to this successful chain of yoga studios. I almost am happy I didn't know what I was walking into as I am not sure if I am ready to do it again for a long while. It truly will take some mental preparation. In the meantime, I will definitely return for the variety of classes they offer. read more

Love love LOVE CP! For anyone who doesn't think yoga is a 'real' workout, come try a CorePower class and your mind will be changed. I love that they offer a variety of class levels and styles - there really is something for everyone and something for exactly what your body needs. Instructors are top notch, facilities are high quality. Classes are usually quite full so plan to arrive about 10-15 minutes early to check in and grab a spot on the floor. Also, if you plan to go to any heated class (C1.5, C2, Hot Power Fusion, Hot Yoga, etc) make sure to bring a towel for your mat (skidless by yogitoes are awesome) and a towel for your sweat. I've been a member with core power yoga often on for over seven years, and the only reason I keep coming back to them is because of the convenience of their multiple locations. however, there is also a reason that I keep leaving this corporation. My reasons for choosing to discontinue my membership - which is a process all in of itself - are as follows: this yoga studio is focused more on the "type a personality" workout and less on meditation, centering oneself, etc., most of the clientele are more concerned about their Lululemon (a horrid company) gear and looking pretty than they are about any of the philosophies that pertain to yoga. Let's get this straight: Corepower is a workout club not yoga studio. They cater to the upper echelon of Denver society with their high membership rates and their yoga clothes they sell in their lobby that start at around the hundred dollars for a pair of pants. This studio is focused on the external versus internal and I simply can't condone that. Now, if you're trying to cancel your membership good luck! I've called the corporate offices more than once and have left messages with no return phone calls whatsoever. I literally had to go into the studio to cancel my membership and it seems that they make canceling your membership so difficult to do unless you do that so that way they keep having a reoccurrence of auto pay. 3 studios in 1 building! Hello - awesome! The normal Core Power thang, but trippled! Having 3 classes and a locker room that is just a little bigger than norm can lead to a little bit of butt bumping, but as mentioned it's not stinky and it's pretty open and airy. Class rooms themselves are pretty spacious - but can heat up quick. Definitely bring your matt towel and another towel! And a change of clothes for after - you don't want to be sitting in sweaty butt! Lots of parking with Denver Pizza Company next door, and starbucks and duffy rolls in the lot - so plenty of after exercise treats! read more

Something to be aware of about CorePower is that almost all of their classes are hot yoga, even if the class description doesn't specify it as such. I believe the only classes that aren't heated are the C1 beginner and Cardio classes. Otherwise, expect a room that is heated to 94-98 degrees with added humidity, with the "Hot" classes being 104-108 degrees. Bring a towel or rent one for $1. You will sweat. A LOT. The Hampden location looks less new than the Colorado Blvd one, with carpets being a little icky, so bring flip flops if you don't want to walk on those barefoot. Just leave your flip flops outside of the studio. The 4:30 PM class on Monday was PACKED. So packed that mats were spaced no more than 10 inches apart. I was unable to go into some of the balancing poses or stretch out my arms because I would have touched or possibly crashed into my neighbors. That definitely took away from the experience. What they should do is let people sign up for classes online and limit the number of attendees. That way you know beforehand whether the class is full. They also shouldn't allow late stragglers to literally squeeze in. The C2 class is best for people with prior yoga experience, but I didn't find it as challenging as some other level 2 or power yoga classes I've taken. Ruby's pace was moderate to flowy, with a lot of standing poses, so no restorative action here. I'm sure it all depends on which instructor you get, as each of them has their own style. Prior experience was key to Ruby's class simply because she would call out the name of a pose to assume next, rather than demonstrating or guiding you into it. Great location and wonderful staff and instructors. CorePower is a great environment for yogis, but you need to keep in mind that anything above level 1 is heated yoga. If you don't like heated yoga, stick to level 1 classes. Unfortunately there are only a couple level 1 classes each day, so the timing might not be ideal for everyone. CorePower is a bit expensive, about $20 a class, but I think it's worth it. They've also got a great little retail shop with yoga clothes and jewelry. If you're looking for mala beads, they have tons of them. read more

My favorite CorePower studio so far - three large studios and so far the classes have not been overcrowded. I need to come back to experience more classes and instructors, but I usually end up at the Colorado Blvd. location. The staff here was extremely nice (welcoming me by exclaiming "Welcome to Cherry Hills CorePower!") and even gave me a tour of the facilities. I'm attending on a Groupon right now, but I might be convinced to continue on. I've been doing yoga for three years now, always at the gym my famiy belongs to. However, when I heard CorePower Yoga gives every new student one free week of classes, I was amped to try it. I'm almost done with my week and thinking seriously about getting a package (even though I'm leaving Denver in a few weeks- it's that good!). Although each teacher and studio is different, every CorePower class I've been to is both challenging and relaxing, with a great balance of fast-paced sun salutations, core work, and inversions. The facilities are clean and spacious as well, my favorite being the Boulder location (second floor studio, huge windows, not very crowded). The Colorado location is a second floor studio as well, which, in my mind, beats the window-less, first-floor room that always seems to be packed at the Hampden location. Also, you can download CorePower's iPhone app from their website, which gives class schedules, descriptions, and teacher bios for all the CorePower studios! It is so helpful for people who are on the go and have access to multiple locations. read more

Let me start with the good stuff: good location, easy access. Very clean studio, welcoming and friendly staff. It was my first visit today and probably my last. The instructor subbing the Sat12 pm hot yoga class (don't know her name) taught a somewhat decent class. Well, in principle. What ruined it for me was her constant talking at a 100mph - with nothing but empty chatter. All this talk brought no value other than filling an already hot room with more hot air. In order to bring value to a yoga (or any) class is to explain what to focus on, what muscle groups to work, to remind people to breath and to give them silence so they can focus on their workout. Be precise in your instructions and slow down the pace of your talking. It is hard to do but everything that brings no value, can be entirely removed from teaching. read more

I did the one week pass here and honestly feel like I should have taken more advantage of it. I attended only two different class types: C1 and C2. C1 is like intro to yoga. You're learning all of the basic stretches. C2 felt very similar to me except maybe you might learn a few additional tricks. In the C2 class we used a yoga block and the strap. For me, I didn't feel like I was a fan of the hot yoga. I feel like I can be just as productive without it, but many would disagree here. I truly feel like I should have tried the Yoga Sculpt class. My wife got a membership and mentions that it's essentially an energetic cardio group workout class. Weights are involved, you do burpees, and combine it with yoga. This seems like it can be interesting. Here's my problem. I want to take classes that focus on achieving a set of moves/stunts/positions. For example, If there was a series of classes that get you to achieve a full splits, I would totally join. I think there needs to be some focus on specific moves and classes built around getting there. Otherwise I feel like the focus is too loose and I don't know what I'm going to achieve at the end. read more

So I've been to 4 of the Corepowers in the area, this one is, by far, my favorite! I don't get to go as often as I like due to the driving distance but I always love the classes and instructors. I generally stick to the Sculpt and CP2 classes, but I'm sure the other ones are good as well. My absolute favorite is Julie's Saturday morning sculpt class. I love how spacious this location is - there are 3 studios. Also, a fairly large locker room (bring your own lock), which is nice as it can get pretty busy between classes. They also have a little boutique with a fair amount of clothing and accessories to purchase. I also like how early some of their classes start on weekdays (6 and 615a) so I can sometimes go before class. I've only had class in studio 1, which is the largest. It can get packed at times, however, I don't ever feel like I'm in a can of sardines, like you can feel at some other studios. I can make a T with my arms most times and not have to worry about hitting the person next to me. My only complaint is that the floor isn't wiped down between classes as it is at some studios and there is a charge to rent towels. There are other studios in the area that are cheaper that offer both of these services. Currently, it's 159/month for unlimited (115 if you qualify for their reduced price if you're a student, teacher, etc). A bit pricey, for sure, but considering how frequently I go, it ends up being affordable per class. They also have a package option but I'm not sure how much it is. Plentiful lot parking and it's located right next to the Orange Theory Fitness. Also, there is a Starbucks, Burger King, and Duffeyrole Cafe in the same shopping center, which is nice if you want a snack or coffee after. read more

I do only the hot yoga classes here - 60 and 90 minutes. I LOVE love love the vibe, the instructors, the studio. I always feel totally supported and there's no judgment. It's more relaxed than traditional Bikram, though the poses are the same and the room just as intensely and consistently hot. By relaxed I mean that the cues are not as scripted, so there is more guidance for getting into poses, and instructors will provide modifications. There are practitioners who will say that counters the benefits of Bikram but *it is your practice.* Only issue here is the teeny tiny women's locker room. read more

They sell lululemon. i've never been to any studio that sells lulu. That was the most impressive part.. Other than that, the locker rooms have full amenities and an inviting dressing area. I love places that don't skimp products. The staff was really nice and I truly enjoy the bikram yoga. Rarely do I ever have a great 1st experience when trying to find an exercise/yoga facility. I have been a member for nearly 6 months now, with my home core power yoga being in CA. I have NEVER been denied access to a class. I showed up literally two minutes late for a class and was locked out and told I could NOT come to class. I understand that walking in late to a class CAN be disruptive and one can also walk in discreetly and get what the service is there for... destressing. I cannot review the instructors here because I obviously could not take the class. If you are a person who absolutely wants NO ONE to be late to a class, this studio is for you. God forbid you run into traffic. read more
