4.5 stars--I'll explain later. Today was my first time visiting CorePower Yoga. To be honest, I received a complimentary birthday class---what better way to experience a new business than with a comp! Conveniently located across the street from the F/B/D trains, 42nd Street and directly opposite Bryant Park, I was excited to experience Core 1 class. If you take a look at their website, classes above Core 1 are heated. The level 1 has your sequential flow and asanas covered so some knowledge/experience with yoga is a must. I refrained from a heated room today since it had been a couple months since my last (always unheated) yoga class. I tend to overheat anyway. The studio is on the mezzanine floor just one flight on the elevator. And again for convenience, there are other locations throughout Manhattan including Williamsburg, Brooklyn with plans to open 5 more soon. When I arrived, I was greeted by Rebecca who was to teach the class. She was warm and friendly and I was immediately drawn to the positive energy of the staff and the space. BTW, there were yoga mats and adorable apparel for purchase Immaculate? check. Lockers available as well as men/ladies changing areas. Spacious rooms? check. The room where I took my class had a cool view of Bryant Park. Awesome class? check. It kicked my tin man butt but in a good way. I really liked Rebecca's teaching style. The one hour literally flew by and I felt motivated and inspired (but looked disheveled, haha) to dive into more classes at CorePower Yoga in the near future. In addition to a birthday comp, this studio offers a one week free trial. Take all the classes you want across locations. How cool? I'm looking forward to spending more time and experiencing other classes at CorePower Yoga. It's Springtime soon and I have to get back in shape! Oh, I shaved off 1/2 star because I typically love a more Zen like ambiance at yoga studios. I like the workout as well as the spiritual principles. Highly recommend checking them out.

They cancelled my class late the night before, said they credited me the $43 drop in but didn't. I requested a refund and got no response.

During our whirlwind of a weekend visiting NYC, my husband and I woke up on a Saturday morning and…read moredecided we could both use a little bit of yoga to start our day... We searched Yelp for a nearby studio with a class that was appealing and we found that this new Midtown East CPY studio had a Core Power Yoga 2 class that morning... we weren't sure we'd make it, and we walked in just a few minutes before the class started, but the ladies at the front desk worked with us to get us registered and into the class and we were so appreciative. Kelsea W was our teacher and she was fabulous... she had some unique sequences that allowed my mind to focus on the present moment and just move / enjoy the class. Needless to say, it was exactly what I needed! The studio itself is spacious, offers lockers, bathrooms, water refills, a bit of a retail store, mats, towels, and more... So yes, CPY is a chain, but it's consistent and if you find the right teacher / class, you'll get just what you need in that moment. Thanks again, Kelsea!

We've had the chance to take classes both in the mornings and evenings, and have likely practiced with most of their instructors at least once. The class schedule is great, and with our membership, booking spots for the high-demand classes isn't a hassle. We've had no trouble getting off the waitlist for early morning sessions either. All of the instructors have been friendly and excellent to work with, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Even when classes are full, the space doesn't feel too cramped, which makes for a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We highly recommend this location!

It's a very spiritual focused studio but they also care deeply about the biomechanics and functional movement. I started going here for the Bikram and loved it every time because every week I would learn something new to improve my form and connect more deeply. Lately I've been more into the Meridian and Vinyasa classes which are not heated and less hot but challenge me in a different way with more inversions, some pressure points, and some new positions. The instructors are amazing and so down to earth. Highly recommend for a grounding and welcoming experience!

Also, and it is just my personal experience, the other practitioners seem to follow the same vibe as the people that work there; friendliness is a top down phenomenon. I've learned helpful things from each and every one of them. I also took the 26&2 fall training last year and if you want to learn how to teach, it's a great experience.
