I need to make it clear right away that our server Cesar was the best! He seated us even though it looks like they were closing soon. We were served pita bread to munch on before the entree arrived. I went in last night with 8 people and let me tell you the chicken breast was so tender so good and that garlic sauce was so amazing i actually had 2 garlic cups we had a blast my buddies ordered the beef kebabs they were so so good we shared everything! We are from Orange County and had come up to Sierra Madre to visit someone. Asked what the best lunch option was and they recommended Corfu. We were very glad they did! The food was very good. As good or better than the Mediterranean food I grew up on back in Pittsburgh. I had the sampler platter but swapped the tabbouleh for kofta. Everything was delicious, especially the eggplant (which I call baba ganooj but they call something else). The cheese thingys that look like little empanadas were outstanding! Such a disappointing experience. We went for breakfast and ordered water and coffee right away. We got our iced waters (it was like 50 degrees outside) and had to remind another waiter about our coffee--like 15 minutes later. Breakfast--out on the weekend--is literally one of life's simplest pleasures. Good thing I'd had coffee at home otherwise I would have been livid and angry as opposed to merely annoyed that our coffee order had been disregarded. SERVICE We were sharing an omelette and a waffle and asked for extra plates, got just one so one of us had to eat out of the plate that either had omelette grease or maple syrup. Kind of annoying :-/. AMBIANCE The mugs were mismatched--but not in a cute Beantown way, more like "I bought these at the 99 cents store" way. The tables were unstable and were stabilized...in one instance by a piece of cardboard, a brown paper towel, AND napkin. And that's for just ONE table. I mean c'mon. That's gross! CLEANLINESS The tablecloths were stained. Under the glass on the tables, there was a flyer for Amy's massage service. I mean, I understand the owner/manager "Amy" has another business she wants to promote but I don't want to be thinking of a relaxing massage as I dine with my family and friends. It just seems out of place. SMELL The food was decent tasting...however, the over all uncleanliness and smell of fried food that seeped into my hair and clothing throughout the time I was there (and my friends later commented on when I met with them an hour and a half after leaving the restaurant) were huge turn-offs. Sierra Madre deserves better! We all deserve better! This place was kind of a disgrace. I'm hopeful that their middle eastern foods are tasty but the entire experience of dining there was so poor that I truly refuse to return. read more

We sat outside which was nice. The service was good and the waitress was attentive but not overbearing. Prices were fair. Here was the problem.....We both ordered the Chicken Parmesan. We were given a flattened chicken breast with little to no seasoning (not the traditional seasoned breading) on a bed of over cooked spaghetti with a tablespoon of tasteless marinara sauce. Kind of a STRANGE place, just like its name. Upon entering, I saw a bunch of omelettes that looked really tasty, but BUMMER... none of them had sausage. Closest was bacon. So after cruising the menu and giving the HIGHBROW to the popcorn shrimp and Monday Night football deals, I decided to go the "legit" route and get some LAMB KABOBS. Pita and hummus was awesome. The lamb wasn't too gamey and tasted sort of like the beef. I dunno. It was all pretty decent. So if you ever want to go kick it and watch Monday Night football with some popcorn shrimp at a Mediterranean restaurant... you've found your spot! read more

The food is good here however the owner is rude!! The first time I spoke to me to give him business he was short and of course I understand everyone gets busy. The second time around he spoke to one of my family members, elder person, and was completely disrespectful. One thing is being rude to me but another is disrespecting my family. I have heard about the City of Sierra Madre, but Corfu was my excuse to go there. Corfu's exterior signage much like the rest of the interior is dilapidated. I felt somewhat uncomfortable coming to this location because it was not really inviting. Anyhow, the owner of the place sat me down, but my waiter took forever to serve me. I ordered the beef kabab and the dinner salad with soup. After taking my order, my food took forever to arrive. This is not really good considering most people have a limited amount of time during lunch. It took quite a while before any hummus or pita bread arrived. My beef kebabs arrived shortly after the hummus with pita bread. The beef kebabs were really delicious. However, I was expecting the dinner salad and soup to arrive before the kebabs. Anyhow, the salad that arrived after my main course was quite disappointing given how good the kebabs were. Even the vegetarian soup was really good. I would discourage people from ordering salad here as it is not one of their strong suits. read more

There were too many tomatoes and the result wasn't that good. Also ordered spanakopita which looked like it was frozen and then grilled and served. They have typical breakfast fare, but I particularly enjoyed the country-style eggs, topped with basil, tomatoes, scallions, and swiss cheese. Stopped in last night for dinner. Cute little restaurant in super cute Sierra Madre. The service was great. Our bums barely hit the seat and we had warm pita and zaatar in oil to dip it. Most of the food was okay but the lula kebab was definitely off. It took a couple of bites and sniffs to confirm but the meat was clearly past its prime. The server was apologetic and overall still a decent meal but I couldn't help but be a little worried about the repercussions of the couple bites of tainted meat I consumed :/ Luckily I live to tell the tale so it's all good. We went for lunch on Saturday and it was surprisingly good. My husband liked the lula kebab and the hummus was really good. The pastitsio was fine. My son's breakfast items were all fine. It would have been a great experience except the service was just painfully slow. They were nice, but you could watch as the kitchen cooked one table's food at a time. No bread or anything until one minute before your food comes out so it was difficult to wait a long time for any food to come out. read more

I've lived in the neighborhood for years and never bothered to go here till last week. I had the simple two-egg breakfast. It was, well, like I said, simple. There wasn't anything special about it, and it was expensive for a two-egg breakfast in my opinion. The quality wasn't any better than a Denny's or IHOP, in my opinion. The food was all right, but I don't think I'd go back again for breakfast. I might go back sometime to try out their lunch menu. Service was slow, especially considering that there were only a handful of customers in the place. read more

My friend ordered an omelet which came with roasted potatoes. They gave us complimentary baklava with whip cream. It's surprisingly hard to find a real Greek restaurant in the area so we felt lucky to stumble upon this spot. The Spanikopita was heavy on phyllo and had a funny herb in it. Hummus and pita were generous in portion and delicious. Grape leaves pretty standard. It was good quality but the flavors weren't really there for me so I probably won't go back. read more

The family had dinner here tonight. The place was empty when we walked in and we were seated immediately. Warm bread arrived with a great olive oil dip. It was good, a little hard but tasty. The wife ordered the lulu kabob and I had the gyro. Mine was tasty and flavorful. The wife enjoyed her kabob. Service got a little slow as people arrived, but it was good. The place could use a really good cleaning as there was dust and grime on the window sill, but overall it looked clean and organized. There was a fly that bothered us through out the meal. (Minus star). Keeping all doors closed will help with that. read more
