Super disappointed. We ended up getting a plate combo, chicken skewer with an added beef skewer, it came with rice, hummus, salad and grilled veggies. The chicken was extremely overcooked. Super dry. As if it had been sitting on the grill all day. The beef skewer had a weird taste, almost like the protein itself had gone bad...like it was sour, very off putting but somehow it got cooked anyways. The zucchini was raw yet charred (too high temp, not enough steam to soften it) the Greek salad had no feta or olives, pita bread store bought not toasted or warmed though looked like it even came in the store bought bag. Hummus tasted fine. This was a to go order maybe dining in is better I don't know but unfortunately I don't think we will try it again. My mother has been here before me several times and wanted her daughter's to experience this establishment. It's intimate meaning small but spread out - cozy/dark/exotic/. The food was top tier, excellent in taste. Lentil soup Pita chips 10+ Halal chicken and lamb Shrimp kebabs Bae hookah Jallab (mom loves it, very sweet and refreshing) Coke was crisp and hot the spot The food is extremely FRESH and DELICIOUS. I appreciate that the rice is a pilaf cooked in broth rather than the boring usual basmati rice. Your waiters are very attentive and respectful of your privacy and time. I had a midweek lunch here with some friends. Since one of my friends is Lebanese and suggested this place, I was pretty confident it was going to be good, and it was! The last time I was at this location years ago, it was a different Mediterranean restaurant, but it seems that Cafe X2O has opened several locations throughout the San Gabriel Valley along the Foothill cities and took over this location as well. There was one in Glendora closer to me, but apparently that location closed down. The parking is pretty easy if it's not too busy. One way in and loop around the restaurant to get out. The seating area feels like you are in an outdoor patio, but it's enclosed so you are protected from the elements. It was Wednesday and we saw that they had Wine Wednesdays with bottles at 50% off. There were also hookah pipes so our group decided to indulge in both! We shared a Cold Meze Sampler and Hot Meze Sampler and it was all great. For lunch I ordered the chicken kebab lunch special. The chicken was tender and flavorful. Our meals came with what seemed like an endless basket of lavash, which they can heat up for you to make it crunchy like a cracker (I preferred it at room temperature). My other friends ordered the lamb chops and the beef shawarma plate. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I really liked the servers here, they were attentive and gave excellent service. We got the weekday family meal deal last night for $39.99. It came with 4 servings of chicken kabobs, a large order of rice, a whole bag of pita bread, a large serving of salad and two choices of dips. The food was good. I liked the dressing on the salad: refreshing and a teeny bit sweet. The chicken kabobs were flavorful and cooked well. Even eating them reheated in the microwave afterwards was still good. And what a good value! We had lots of left-overs. The portion was generous by today's standards given how expensive everything is. We got it to-go and ate it at home. It was so easy and affordable! I have eaten at this restaurant in-person as well. This location also serves as a hookah lounge. If that is something you are looking for, then they offer many different hookah flavors. We ordered a mini family dinner and two of the petite chocolate truffle cheesecakes for takeout. The order was ready fairly quickly and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. The service was great! The meat, rice, veggies, spicy hummus and pita was delicious! We added a salad, but it was so small and barely shareable. They did not have the cheesecakes we ordered, so we were offered other desserts instead. We chose the pistachio truffle and canasta cheesecake. The dessert was a bit of a letdown. Still my favorite spot to grab a hookah! They went through a change of staff/management but the service and food is still top notch. Rola the manager is always the sweetest and greets us with a smile. Last year or so ago after passing by Cafe X20 several times we decided to finally stop in. It was quiet inside with several people smoking the Hookah, it was a new sight for me. I ordered the lamb chop plate, my partner ordered fish. We shared our food and I tell you, the food was absolutely delicious. And the margarita was made special for two. Well, I visited the other day and ordered my lamb chop meal, got it home, opened the container and viewed this beautiful looking meal, I wanted to exhale the entire meal at one time because it looked so nice. Everything was great, until I said to myself, the flavor is delicious, but this doesn't taste like lamb. And I noticed a slit in the meaty portion which wasn't there last year, I guess the changed something. And by the bone, it was a little stringy, I don't remember that either. The chop appeared a little charred, I lost my appetite, after I had almost eaten just about everything. But I did notice a difference in flavor and questioned what I was eating. It looked like delicious lamb, but didn't taste quite like the lamb I've eaten; maybe it was a different breed of lamb?? Should I let this one time situation affect my rating of Cafe X20?
