Don't know how to control animals. Don't allow you back with your pet and then tell me my dog is vicious and going to charge me more. 11 years with vets and no issue ever. Go to dog parks regularly no issues. My dog is kind and sweet and never had issue with anyone. I want to say I live about an hour away from Corinth Animal Hospital. They took care of my dog years ago then he passed away. I was with another vet with my new dogs until I got fed up and called Corinth Animal Hospital. These folks take care of my dogs and take care of me. Dr Steckley and Dr Kelly are wonderful. Great VETs and tech team! No question about that. However the secretary, specially one of them is not willing to make you feel important client. I realized that after reading other comments and once I thought I needed Emergency this lady booked a time with me. She did not care IF it was really emergency or not. On the other hand, another time I changed to Animal Medical Center of Highland Village and I had my appointment a bit late because they had an emergency! Highly recommend Made an unexpected appt. due to my pet rabbit Casper having a reaction on his right eye. I love that they accept exotic pets and were able to squeeze us in that day with no problem. Overall, the staff are the sweetest and greet you as soon as you walk in, everything is well cleaned, Dr. came in with a smile, she explained everything thoroughly to me with no problem examining him in front of me(Casper did so well), she gave me great vibes including her staff that was in the room. My dog was 15 years old and was a difficult decision to have to put him down. Took him to this Vet and everyone there and on the phone was very sweet and sincere. They treated us very nice and spent some time with us and our dog to hear about his life and all the fun he had over the years. I was a nervous wreck, but they helped me get through. Absolutely heartless. This past Saturday (7/15) my dog was in distress having trouble breathing. Naturally we immediately set off for our Vet, Corinth Animal Hospital. Since it was a Saturday, I checked the hours online. It is stated that it closes at noon. We arrived three minutes to 11am. We were turned away and told they were about to close. I went here on the emergency basis, plus their office visit was pretty low; however, they're horrible at how they treat you. My dog is not a regular client here, but my vet was booked and I wanted to treat Skittles because she was in pain...so I went here. They're nice; however, the vet tech wasn't friendly and seemed to have an attitude with helping and understanding the situation. She seemed to have an attitude that I went here instead of my regular vet. When it was time to check out they just took the payment and literally threw me the receipt and walked away. I had questions to ask and they paid no attention to me, because I wasn't a regular client. They seemed to pay more attention than anything else to the regulars. For a vet that might want more money aka new business they sure aren't treating newbies right. I was still in the market for a vet at this time and thinking about trying to switch here...only because the vet took the time to explain things and seemed to really care about Skittles. She sat down on the floor and talked with me about options and things going on, as well as answering all questions I had...but its not worth that if the rest of the staff seemed off. read more

Do not go here. They do not communicate your animals health or update after surgery. When checking out- they tend to add prices...not 10-50 dollars, but larger amounts. This erks me to no end, as after several calls to check on my animal I get an answer of "Just come up here." When I should of received a call after surgery, droop of, etc. Not an hour before close. When this was brought up to the Dr. I received the answer of " Well communication between are staff can get mixed up." One time I understand, but not 3-5 times. Last straw was when my dog had issues after surgery, worried I took her in around 8AM. Low and behold, 4PM comes along and after a few calls worried if my dog was alive,I get an answer of "The DR. will talk to you get here." I ask if my dogs alive...., she says to just come in. I ask again, she puts me on hold. Then comes back and says yes. Really? This was the last straw. I stopped going here on the account of: 1. Prices astronomically higher than I believe any other vet. (Yet they seem to think everyone is okay with just handing over their debit card without pricing, breakdown, etc.) 2. No communication (Really...none) 3. Poor reconciliation after communicating problems. (Dr. did not even bother apologizing or attempting to correct problem. I would understand if they called to say, "Hey, were going to do "X" and "x", or your dogs alive, she just will be getting a steroid shot." But no, after calling 2-3 times, I get a call of just to come up there. With no information on what they did, or the cost. Blatant disrespect to owners. Ten plus years of bringing our animals we have decided to move on. read more

Decided to give them a try since they are so close to our new house ( old vet is so far away) and was very happy with the visit. Everyone was very friendly and made plenty of time for me during the exam process and seemed to genuinely care about my cat. If I had to critique I would say they do not communicate the charges well (after the visit charge) so ask for prices if this concerns you. The regular visit is very reasonable but that cost doubled with what I had done during the exam and no one said "hey, we are going to do this and it will cost extra". I would have paid it anyways so not a big deal but I will ask them to explain all charges in the future so we don't ever get into an uncomfortable situation. read more

Thanks for the happy birthday emails two months after I put my dog down..... Go elsewhere, the doctors here are overworked, overwhelmed, and they don't have time for patients. Front office staff is pretty awful to deal with, and RANDOM fees without explanation! We have five dogs, all established patients there.. One of our dogs was very sick, feverish, not eating, and coughing, with labored breathing. When I called on a Thursday for an emergency appointment. I was told, "It's probably kennel cough, we have no openings, you'll have to go to the emergency vet." (All dogs were current on vaccinations & had not been boarded recently). I asked about for that day, the next day, Saturday...nope, nothing. That night we had to take him to the ER: he had pneumonia and spent two night there on oxygen & IV medications. It was over $3000 to treat him. We found out it was canine flu that turned to a secondary infection of pneumonia.:By then we had found a new vet who treated all five dogs' illnesses as this flu is highly contagious and they all got sick. I called Corinth Animal Hospital TWICE & never even got a call back! This overpriced and under caring office will no longer be our vet! To treat an established customer with five dogs the way we were treated is inexcusable! read more

Extremely friendly staff and everyone is dedicated to providing great care to your pets. Oftentimes they take a "wait and see" approach before dispensing medications and typically offer alternative care methods; however, if your pet needs medicine, you get it right away and are educated on what the medicine is for, how to give it and what side effects can occur. They don't communicate pricing at the beginning of the appointment, but if you are concerned about the price of care, just ask them. They are more than happy to discuss. read more

My family had to make the difficult decision on Feb 14th to put our 15 year-old cat to sleep as he had gotten throat cancer. We could have taken him home but Dr. Zenker said he only had days left. It was a very hard but necessary decision. I talked to Dr. Zenker on the 16th as I had some questions & she reassured me that we made the right decision. A few days later, completely out of the blue, we received a sympathy card in the mail signed by the entire staff with additional words from Dr. Zenker, as well as a poem. I was truly touched by this gesture; it was something I never expected. And from start to finish with the decision we had to make Dr. Zenker & staff were very kind & sympathetic. We have another cat & we will be taking there for checkups as well, & I would recommend Dr. Zenker to anyone looking for a veterinarian. In my opinion, they go above & beyond. Treatment of my cat was satisfactory. Friendly staff, but they were not certain of what was wrong. They suggested we give my cat an antibiotic, however they neglected to tell me it would cost $93 for one antibiotic injection! There was no true diagnosis. The office visit was almost $50 and a "partial" urinalysis was $34. How can you do a partial and not a full test? does a "full" urinalysis test cost twice as much? If there wasn't a large enough sample, don't do the test! My final bill was $176 and if my cat doesn't feel better, they suggest I bring him in for a full urinalysis and possible blood work. Not happening. I feel like they are just in it for the money. Had they explained my options of oral vs injectable antibiotics or asked me about charging for a "partial" urinalysis, I probably would not be writing this review. Bottom line. I USE to come here. ......USE to. We use to bring all of our dogs here being it was more convenient. It's come to the point where the service I have been receiving is just ridiculous. Their prices were always high....(Charged for every single thing.) But it got to where they started charging on post-op checkups' after surgery, OR charging over 300 for a simple wellness visit. As for Surgery: I thought my dog was hurt, or had complications....b/c I had NO CALLS. If you have surgery, or drop off your pet, don't expect a call when their done, YOU will have to call. I had to call for an update at 5:30...I got a snarky response of..."The vet will talk to you when you get here. Are you kidding me??? No freaking call, and you won't give a direct answer, pompous attitude like this has happened on more than 4 occasions. The front desk is notorious for having "miscommunications." (More than one account.) They won't even call the next day to see if your pets doing fine!!! Out of an emergency, I went to another place, and THEY called to check up the next day, they actually cared. I brought this to their attention to the main vet,all I just got a shrug, and "Well I will let them know...", "but we just have miss-communication with our staff sometime." Seriously? One time, understandable.....MORE than once, plain arrogant, uncaring, and inattentive to your clients. If I spend more than 1500 on bringing my loving pets in, I would appreciate some kind of admiration, and thought you'd care. Checking out as usual, I get the hand me the card, no breakdown of additional charges, nothing, just I'd like your money now. They simply have jacked up their prices, never discounted a repeat customer of ten years, or had the common sense to put effort into caring. After 25 years going to Parker Animal and Bird Clinic in Plano (the best) we moved to Corinth. My Old English Sheepdog, Tally, won't sit down in the car and the half hour or more there and then back was too much for her. I took her to Corinth Animal Hospital for a small surgery growth removal on the side of her head. She is 15, so I was naturally worried. The day of the surgery I never saw the doctor before nor after - a tech came in and read a sheet of paper to me which I could have done. I asked where the surgeon was and she told me she doesn't talk to the patient's family. The surgeon cared so little she couldn't even spare a few moments for questions after because she was "too busy". Later the next day I was phoned by a tech and voiced my disappointment over the treatment and was told that was standard. She would put a note in my file that I wanted "special" treatment to see the doctor after a surgery...should be the norm. They won't see me again and I advise anyone contemplating their practice to go somewhere else. I have never been treated this way by any other Veterinarian. My fur-baby suffered 3rd to 4th degree burns from another vet during a simple surgical procedure. I had taken him to 2 vets prior (including the vet that did the surgery) because I had no clue what had happened. Both vets basically sent us away and could not or would not help him. I made an appt with Corinth Animal Hospital and they were able to tell me the problem and start a treatment plan for him right away. I also had to take him to Flower Mound emergency hospital based on their recommendation on Sunday. The care and treatment they have all provided is amazing, they truly care, all of them, from the office staff, to the technicians to the Doctor's. They are amazing! Thanks to them my baby is seeing great improvements, we have a long way to go, but I am confident with them we will get there. Ask the question of your Vet, what type of heating mechanism they use for surgery, say NO to heating pads and check your pet afterwards, I had no clue. read more

If I could give a zero star I would. My dog, Bailey, was having breathing issues. We took her in as an emergency visit on Friday afternoon about 2:45 pm. Dr. Zenker put her on oxygen but could not take xrays due to the fact that every time they took Bailey out of the oxygen, she would, as the Vet quoted, "start to turn blue", so they would put her back in the oxygen. It was going on 5:00 pm and Dr. Zenker came in and said that since she couldn't do xrays, she called over to DCAER and had them set things up and that we should take Bailey and "Fly" over to the ER with her so they could get her back on the oxygen and intubate her and get her stable enough to do tests. At no time ever, did Dr. Zenker tell me or my husband that Bailey might not make it from point A to point B (which is about a 7-8 minute drive). They brought her out to me, and she was already struggling to breathe. That was the most horrendous, heart wrenching 7-8 minutes we have ever experienced. I held her in my arms as my husband sped to the ER. My precious fur baby basically died in my arms before we could get there. She had a small heartbeat and the Dr. at the ER was able to intubate her and make her comfortable. After checking her, the Dr. called me and my husband into a small room and explained that she really couldn't tell exactly what was going on but combined with Bailey's age (16 yrs), that she would more than like pass even if they did try to treat her. We were heartbroken, but made the decision to let the Dr. put her to sleep. My fur baby should never have been made to suffer and be scared the way she was, fighting for breath for that 7-8 minute drive. Dr. Zenker never indicated Bailey was "dying", rather, she was more set on sending us away at 5:00 pm, their closing time, instead of taking the time to inform us that Bailey was dying and should have given us the facts and decision to have humanely let her go peacefully there instead of sending us off. We were distraught, were not thinking clear, trusting the word of Dr. Zenker and now we have horrible visions of Bailey struggling for air that will haunt us for God knows how long. This should never happen to another animal or family. I pray that anyone reading this will not allow any facility to send you to another facility if your baby is in question of making it. I will be forever sorry for taking my dog there and for not insisting that they stay past 5 pm to care for my baby. read more

They have the best staff ever! We took our three dogs sandy,Mackenzie, and duke here. They are all pretty good sized dogs and lived to be way older than expected. They were very healthy. Also they were very helpful when the times were hard. All of our dogs had to be put down within months of each other. The people were so nice. That was one of the hardest things to do. Any dog lover would understand. After we had to take the dog in we would get a card from the veterinary staff. They ALL signed it. It was comforting to know that they cared and that we were in their prayers. We also have boarded our dogs here and had great experiences. They play with them and take good care of them. My dog sandy had kidney failure so you had to take extra good care of her and they were awesome. Our new puppy penny is a handful! She is so hyper and playful! My multiple experiences to visit this clinic have been very disappointing. It seems over the last 4 years they have really gone down hill. The staff is surprisingly rude and short with clients. When I travel for work, I board my dog with them. USED TO! The last couple of times I have picked her up and then spent the night in the Vet ER because she was ill and almost died the last time. Even with up to date shots and this clinics insistent on "boosters" to board her, she became very ill. When I took her to see the vet, so they could see what had happened and see my bill... they actually charged me for bringing her in and for the Dr. looking at her and not even touching her! The Vet ER explained she had to have been sick for a couple of days to be this ill and require ER overnight with oxygen! Yet the Corinth Animal Hospital said that she never was sick and was fine. Even with a note from the Vet ER saying different. In addition, the last time I boarded her, they would not allow me to leave her bed for her and told me they never allowed that, which is untrue. So, I am back to driving an hour to my old vet, so my dog can get proper care. So, I have learned that just because a Vet has pictures of the Canine Officers she has a patients does not mean it is a positive clue, just means it's free treatment for free advertising. (; read more
