I would not recommend the veterinary services at Community Outreach. We brought both of our dogs in for cytopoint injections and wanted to discuss prescription dog food. We were told by the tech that each dog needed a separate vet visit, costing us $50 per dog. During the appointment, the vet discussed the prescription diet with us and stated he would prescribe it. However, when we later contacted the office to obtain the prescription, the experience with the front desk was extremely unprofessional and frustrating. I then received an email from the clinician stating that only one of my dogs had the prescription diet documented in the chart notes, but that the prescription "should be enough" to cover food for both dogs. Despite the fact that we paid for two separate vet visits, they refused to provide a second prescription for our other dog. The office then tried to justify this by saying the second dog had an ear infection and therefore "needed" the appointment anyway. The ear issue was simply an incidental finding and not the reason for our visit. We came in for prescription diet management, paid two exam fees as instructed, and still did not receive appropriate prescriptions for both dogs. This felt incredibly dishonest and like we were charged unnecessary fees without receiving the service we were told would be provided. Our pets are family, and it's disappointing to feel like profit mattered more than proper care or customer service. I highly advise pet owners to look elsewhere for veterinary care. read more

My husband took our dog in to get his glands expressed because he was constipated and the vet basically treated him as if he was crazy for bringing him in. They completely wrote it off, and two days later our dog had an abscess that burst and we had to take him to another vet to get properly checked off. When we called to complain they said they wouldn't have a vet in for the next four days. They didn't even ask what was wrong. So rude and unprofessional. Plus the vet criticized us for having a husky, as if there's anything we can do about huskies being bred all around the U.S. If you choose to bet a vet in a southern state you shouldn't be criticizing the residents and dogs who live here. read more

This vet clinic touts itself as being affordable and low cost. I believe it initially it started this way, but now the prices are no different than standard vet clinics. Very sad that they changed and no longer provide good vet care at affordable prices. There needs to be more places that offer low cost prices because owners can't afford the high costs an less likely to take their pets in for vet care. Nothing but good experiences here. They're huge fans of my dog which makes him very excited to come to the vet. He struggles with anxiety in going to new places sometimes, and he really disliked our previous vet, but he seems pretty comfortable going here. The quality of care is fantastic and they're very transparent about all costs and what is completely necessary vs what they just recommend. I know I have saved a lot of money coming here over the past few years. There was a time when my dog had a medical emergency on the way to an appointment, which was terrifying for me, but they took amazing care of him and stayed very calm which helped me in turn stay calm. I waited over an hour for my car to be seen. I have never waited that long in a vets office.

BeWARE!!!!!! I want to say with her. I need her outer front nail trimming and anal expression of glands. My dog has to have her glands expressed regually. I told the vet Tech Jennifer Sococool, then I said her feet she won't like. I will hold her. She went and got an assistant. Which had the clippers and gloves. Jennifer Sococool manhandled my dog by the neck. She has never had anyone do that to her. She start squirming. The other tech starting cut the nails on the right paw. Cut the middle toe nail would stop bleeding. I yelled NO. I said not to do the middle toes They are already short. I told you, Jennifer. Then she said her assistant doesn't speak English. Then she went to get a muzzle to put on my dog. I SAID NO. I don't want the assistant touching my dog. You (Jennifer) express my dog. Never finish the toe trim. I asked Jennifer do you always manhandle the dogs. She said I don't. Then I asked,So you muzzle every dog you take to the back. She said if they look like we might get bite. People Don't Let Them Touch Your Babies. My dog was mortified of her handling. My dog wouldn't hurt a fly. Very uncalled for. read more

I took my puppy here for a year to get puppy shots and neutered. I never had a bad experience with the front desk staff per se, but a few things about coming here made me really uneasy. For starters, I wasn't allowed back with my dog to meet with the vet. Not once. This struck me as odd, though I initially was okay with this thinking it was just because of COVID precautions. As time went on and COVID was less prevalent, I was finally able to go into the facility, but still not allowed to see a vet to ask any questions. As others have stated, the technician would bring the dog back and ask if I had questions, but that was pretty much it. I also did not always appreciate the technicians and how they handled my dog. The culmination of my bad experiences was when I took my dog there to be neutered. I expected the drop off/pick up routine, but did not expect the attitude I received from the technician when I came to pick up my dog. Apparently, he was nervous during the procedure and got nippy when they attempted to place an IV. As such, the technician requested that I come back to get my dog, citing that he'd been a problem. The technician made me feel really uncomfortable and almost chastised me, despite the fact that to me, this is a normal animal reaction during an unwanted procedure. The pricing here was really the only positive aspect. The prices are reasonable. Everything else was subpar. Would definitely not recommend going here and I will certainly not be coming back. read more

I've been taking my dog here for over three years! I love them and I ALWAYS recommend them!

Both times I have come here everyone has been so nice and helpful. I'm not sure about others experiences with not being allowed with their pets during the visit but I was in the room both times I visited with my chiwiennie . ( both visits being in 2023 ) The best thing about this place is I can get in the day of calling. My schedule is very hectic and luckily when my dog was very sick they got us in within a couple hours of calling. The front desk and assistants are always nice. The doctor I had was crystal and she was very transparent and offered me different options to help my fur baby. My dog needed a life saving surgery and the whole team went of their way to get that set up for me to return the next day at 8am. The surgeon is my hero because he saved my dogs life and when I picked her up she was happy and alert. Prices are lower then most the high end vets in the area. They are honest and offer you choices depending on your financial wants. I really glad I brought my dog here and will return in the future. read more

My feelings about this place are mixed.... I've never had a bad experience with the front desk or medical personnel as others have alluded to in their reviews below as they've been nothing but professional. My main complaint is that they don't let you go back 8n the examination room to interact with the vet as he/she treats your pet. Instead, they make you sit in the waiting area out front and the only time you can ask questions about your pet's condition is when a technician brings the animal back out and frankly, by then its too late. The technician in our case seemed to be just a trained observer without any real specific knowledge of veterinary medicine. Sorry....but this is just unacceptable. This is the only clinic i've been to that doesn't allow the owners to be present while their pet is being treated/examined. Add on that their pricing has gone up quite a bit in the past few years which will compel us to seek another provider for our pets' needs. When I asked about why they didn't allow owners to be present in the examination room, their only response was, "That's just our policy sir." So my question is....what exactly are they so afraid of and what are they h8ding back there? Our pet came back noticeably upset after our last visit and they couldn't provide any real answers as to why. Would have helped if we could have just been present while she was being treated. read more

If I could give them less than 1 star I would. Vet on duty told me she was ordering a thyroid test because she suspected our dog had hypothyroidism based on the physical exam. Cost was 199$. The next day we were told that the test results indicated low thyroid output but they wanted an additional thyroid test for another 199$ before they would prescribe medication, despite the fact that the vets initial diagnosis was proved correct. Shameful way to extract more money without concern for the animal. read more

Second attempt at a review - crashes when I attach a photo I chose CPO in the COVID age, since Lola's (my 120# Cane Corso) normal vert wanted to highly sedate her and take her in the back for vaccinations. That was a no-go for me I met them in a local shopping center parking lot, and explained the situation. They agreed to take care of her with me handling her the entire time, in the open air, and fully recognizing CDC guidelines I held Lola, the tech was in front distracting her, while the vet did her stuff in the back Care, compassion and expertise showed when everything was done without the trauma of being in a vet clinic, and we stayed safe I could not recommend this process or CPO higher and plan to come back next year when it is time again read more

I was a long-time customer but the practice has gone downhill. The vet is never there, only the vet techs and the wait is between one and two hours from your appointment time. I had a dental procedure done for my small dog there and they pulled 13 teeth without letting me know first. I really don't have anything good to say about the practice anymore. I agree with the other 1 star comments on here! They don't give a damn about your pet, only the money. Worse than used car salesmen trying to up sell you on everything. Even when my cat was knocking on deaths doors they wanted to make it difficult and for me to spend thousands of dollars, instead of just telling me that she was in pain, had specific noticeable signs, and needed to be put down because she was beyond help EVEN with aggressive treatment that I could have done. They wouldn't tell me any of that, I had to go to another vet that I had never seen to be upfront and competent with me. They are no good at all! Find anyone else, and don't fall for that "ONLY $35 exam fee trick they use"! It's bait and switch! You come out wayyyyy ahead paying $85 for an exam fee because you won't be nickel and dimed to death with add on's. read more

Today my family and I had to put our dog down. We've never lost a pet or had to put one down, this was an extremely hard moment for us, the family that was there and the rest of our family that wasn't with us. We understand that there was an emergency with another dog that delayed putting our pup down, we get that. That's not what made us mad. What is egregious was after. The doctor administered the drug and then gave us a moment to say our goodbye. They left the room and no exaggeration, 2 MINUTES AFTER, while we are still experiencing our grief, the tech comes back in and says "Sorry, I forgot to grab your payment method." I was furious, we're wiping tears from our face, I'm holding the corpse of my dog and you're asking for payment. We are in your back office, we will be passing by you in just a moment. You couldn't have waited? You forever ruined a moment of pain for us. read more

The ladies did a great job in explaining all the details of my baby's spay. I was so nervous bringing her in but she was back to her normal self the next day. Discovered that a rabies shot that used to be available at their mobile locations and the main locations now must have a checkup for $40 that you cannot attend AND the actual rabies shot lasts for 3 yrs, not 1 yr but if you want their tag to say 3 yrs you must pay an additional fee of $15, for the exact same shot! I had been a customer there for several years and paid yearly for that vaccination when they suggested the 3 yr shot but today my dog got the shot and it was for 1 yr when I asked about the 3 yr they discussed and wanted $15 more but didn't need to give the dog anything additional. I feel they are dishonest and try to pad my bill with more and more charges that are unfair. The exact same shot for the same dog had two prices!! And being forced to pay for an exam that you cannot be part of, is totally unjust. If you attend a mobile clinic there is no exam fee! The staff was clueless and had to go ask for every question I had. Save your money and find a better vet! read more

The staff was very friendly, patient and thorough. I have never felt that my pet was more cared for than I did at this ONE visit. This was our first visit and we can't wait to tell all of our friends about how we were treated like family and welcomed in. Our dog, Louis has a soft tissue sarcoma and is going to need surgery and we were so nervous and having difficulty finding a vet that would be able to help us but after coming here I feel reassured and I feel like Louis is in the best hands possible. I am grateful for the team here and look forward to switching all of our pet services over to them for the primary care of our 2 dogs. Great place, receptionists are sweet. You can tell the people that work there enjoy their jobs and pets. However I DO NOT RECOMMEND Dr.CAPP, she seemed like she did not want to be there and was checking my dog in a rudely manner. My dog was clearly nervous and she was touching her around not caring about my dogs anxiety. However the tech I had, Mathew, was amazing. He was loving on my dog knowing she was nervous to make her comfortable and took care of her well and my dog loved him. He was informing me of things I could look out for and do better as a dog mom. I have had many experiences at this place. I absolutely love the vets, but unfortunately this is probably the only reason I continue to use them. I have had terrible experiences with vet techs, they sometimes almost seem like they don't even know what there doing. This is just something I have gotten used to, but recently EVERY TIME I have called their office, a woman named "Alexis" has answered the phone. Not only does she seem extremely uninterested in speaking with you, she also has zero customer service skills, and comes off as rude. I would love to keep using them, but when scheduling an appointment continues to become more and more difficult due to one person, I am become frustrated. read more

The service is terrible, communication even worse, and they can't even do some of the services other vets can do so they wind up referring you and then you have to make two trips to the vet instead of one. i took my puppy in for bleeding after he got neutered and they gave me 4 different types of medication that he didn't even need. and tried to tell me he needed emergency surgery. i went to a second vet who told me the complete opposite and said he did not need surgery and all he needed was to take his stitches out because they were wrong. he gave him a steroid shot and he improved a day later. this place acted like he would die without the surgery and barely even looked at his incision. ridiculous. read more

My cat, Penelope was brought in for a hernia that needed to be repaired as well as to get her fixed. I had brought her in early in December, and a gentleman doctor told me not to worry about her hernia and that it could wait another month to remove and that he would get her fixed at the same time as well. I waited another month to make the appointment to get the hernia removed and have her fixed. Nobody in your office mentioned to me that your practice would rather wait until the animal is 6 months to have her fixed, mind you. I brought her in for some blood work prior to the surgery on Friday 1/20/23 and was totally dismissed by the members of your team. I arrived on time to my appointment at 10:50 AM and waited for our turn as expected. They began taking patients who had arrived after me. I was a little taken aback. Why would they take them back when I waited 20-30 minutes to be seen. Why are they allowing people to take my place in line? I immediately spoke up and asked why I was not being seen. Mind you, every other animal parent was allowed to go back there with their pet- except for me. When I brought that up, the team member told me for routine blood work they do not typically allow the owner to go back. But everyone else in the office got to go back with their pet? They brought her back and still had me waiting in the office with me not knowing what was happening. Did I need to sign anything? What was my next step? I stood there staring at your front desk employees and they figured it out after about a minute or two. I am sure they saw the look of dismay on my face and rather patronizingly one of your employees finished the job and gave me my instructions for the surgery day. I paid my $100 dollar deposit and left. On the day of surgery, 1/23/23 at 7:45 AM, I was the first person in the parking lot. I arrived at 7:30 AM just to be sure I was there on time. I waited 15 minutes and walked into the office. Mary began assisting me. She asked how old my pet was, I told her 5 months old. Mary told me your age policy for getting animals fixed (6 months) and that the doctor may not perform the surgery that I put a deposit down for because of that! At this point I had had it. Why would your staff tell me the morning of, after taking money, after driving 35 minutes to come to your office, that the surgery wouldn't be able to be done? I asked Mary these questions and her response? " I am just doing my job" with an incredibly patronizing smile and condescending tone.well Mary, maybe you want to do your job a little bit better? There was another brunette in the office who was just making faces as if she was surprised that I was upset at getting this information at the very last minute as this whole interaction went down. Unprofessional. Lastly, your staff sent me home with Penelope's medication upon picking her up. Mary was smiling in my face very hard, I couldn't tell if she was being passive aggressive or trying to make up for the interaction we had earlier in the morning. She was practically screaming the instructions to me. I understand you all are very busy, including myself. However, your staff sent me home with a subcutaneous needle instead of a syringe to administer Penelope's oral gabapentin? How is that supposed to work? I'm supposed to jab Penelope with a needle in the mouth? And the Onsior that according to the box comes with 6 tablets, only had 3 in them. I am grateful that the surgery went well and that Penelope is healthy, but to be treated like this by your staff is not okay. $350 is a decent chunk of change to pay out for me. My time is valuable just like yours is. And like I said, I arrived on time to both appointments because I am aware of the fact that time is valuable. Unfortunately, my time was not valued with your employees. It's upsetting and I will never go back to your practice. read more

I am pretty much speechless. The people at Community Pet Outreach in Lewisville did something very kind for me and my sweet pet today. My dog was attacked last week by another dog while out of town. With that and the stress I know he must be feeling with us packing up, selling, and moving from the only home he has known, my dog is stressed out. He is sad. He is so sad and anxious that he wouldn't even get out of the car to go inside so I could get him checked out. Instead of forcing a scared dog to do so, Dr. Miller, and everyone there, took the time and made the effort on this bitter cold/windy day to come to my car to evaluate him. They did a complete and thorough exam to determine how to help my pup. What?! Who does that anymore?! Community Pet Outreach did that for us. What a blessing!!!! As a complete UNEXPECTED bonus, they didn't even charge us for the visit since we had been in recently and my dog had just seen an out-of-town emergency vet when he was attacked earlier in the week. I'm telling ya, these people are the best. Their hearts were in the right place, for sure. I am beyond grateful for their compassion and professionalism today and every time we go there.
