The fish was seasoned perfectly, and the simple risotto had great texture and flavor. Two friends finished their meals entirely so I can only assume they were just as good as mine (salmon and twin medallions). I almost ordered the fish fry but was bummed about having to choose between coleslaw and potato so I didn't. Our server was lovely. It's clearly a close knit group of employees and a one feels like family when dining here.

This is a great local spot to stop in to get a scoop of ice cream and then take a walk around the lake or just sit at the dairy bar and enjoy the view. I don't remember the brand of ice cream they serve, but I think it's made locally. You can also order food here, but I didn't see any menu to order off of. Maybe you just know what's available. Or you have to actually talk to someone to get the menu?!

Each time we've dined, the food has been excellent, and even more importantly to my wife and me, there is a friendly nutritionalist on staff who specializes in allergies and keeps the students healthy and fed well. Our daughter has significant food allergies, and it is a great assurance to know that UW Platteville really has her safety prioritized while still maintaining an excellent and delicious menu. The atmosphere is really cool, too. It very different than the cafeteria style experience I had decades ago when I was in college, and even though they get you through the lines quite quickly, it feels much more like a restaurant experience than a college dining option.

**July 2025: Late Morning Visit**…read more Spotted Cow! The city of New Glarus is basically a Spotted Cow destination! Wherever you go most restaurants will serve this beer, which is very malty. This beer is only available in Wisconsin but if you want the seasonal stuff visiting the New Glarus Gift shop will give you the most options Tuesday-Saturday: 10am-5pm I think the tasting option is $8 for 3 pours. It's a good way to try out all the different options before deciding on which bottles (or cans) you want to buy. The Stone Soup (Seasonal) was my favorite, but you can't go wrong with the original Spotted Cow. I think the majority of the seasonal beers were in bottles. I think they come in packs of either 4 or 6. The prices here are pretty comparable to if you buy them from a Wisconsin Target, but the big box stores have less variety. Since I was doing a big cross country roadtrip my weight allowance could not' accommodate everything I wanted *cries* and they don't ship their booze *cries* Next time I come back I'll make sure to make bring an empty suitcase! If you're visiting New Glarus your trip won't be complete without a visit to the factory (gift shop)!

I've been to a lot of craft breweries, and I have to say this is now one of my all-time favorites. The concept is simple but awesome this isn't your typical bar. There's no indoor seating, but there's plenty of outdoor space on the other side of the parking lot. You come inside, pay $8 for a beer, and get to keep the glass. Or you can sample three beers for $8, keep the glass, and get a coin for a free beer in town. They also sell beer to go and other fun merch with their logo. The staff was super nice and friendly, and the vibe was relaxed and welcoming. I tried the Oktoberfest, the Pilsner, and the totally naked. All were fantastic! If you're anywhere near the area, definitely stop by you won't regret it.
