We were in town for a night to see the House on the Rock. We did a quick search for places to eat that were open on a Sunday. Street parking was available. This bar was open and we were able to walk right in. We were warmly welcomed by the individual behind the bar. We snagged the table and convinced the individual to switch on the football game on the TV above us. We enjoyed a few drinks as we watched the game. She was happy to list off what was available as all four of us wanted something a little different. Menus had options for appetizers or full meals. We ordered fried cheese curds for the table first. We gobbled them up quickly. There was a changing of the guard behind the bar and we soon discovered a new waiter. He seemed gruff but really was sweet. It was starting to get busy and he was on his own. We put in our food orders and enjoyed the football game while we waited. My friend got the Taco Pizza and said she loved it. My husband and I shared a nice big hamburger and fries plate. Another individual at the table got the popcorn shrimp but there was plenty of food to go around. We all enjoyed our meals and drinks and the atmosphere. The regulars were all up at the bar and enjoying the camaraderie during the football game. I spent a night in Dodgeville during my weekend trip to House on the Rock and Taliesin. When I looked for places to eat dinner that night, Yelp revealed only two options within about a 15-mile radius. One of them was Dino's. When my friend and I asked the hotel desk clerk for restaurant recommendations, he said Dino's is among the best in the area, so off we went. When we arrived and saw the exterior Old Style sign and rather sketchy front door, which included a taped, handwritten note warning that they accept only cash or checks for payment, I was tempted to leave immediately. It looks like a hole-in-the-wall bar, not THE place in town for dinner. But we were hungry and up for an adventure, so we went in. As expected, there were patrons sitting at the bar, but a few feet away were a few tables, so we sat down and waited, and then waited some more. After 10 minutes or so, we figured we must have to order food at the bar, so my friend went up to ask. While she was gone, a server came to our table, apologized for the delay and then began attending to us. She asked what I'd like to drink, and I asked if there were malt beverages or any options besides beer. She seemed confused by the question and stated that they have lemonade, so I decided to stick with water. A little while later, we saw another patron drinking a White Claw, though. The menu featured typical bar fare such as burgers and pizza. We were there on a Friday night, and there was a handwritten fish fry menu posted on a pillar, along with some lighthearted pandemic restaurant rules (see photo). I ordered the three-piece cod dinner, which came with a choice of potatoes. I got a baked potato. My meal was also served with a soft roll, coleslaw, tartar sauce and sour cream. I actually enjoyed it more than I expected to, mostly given the indoor and outdoor atmosphere, and it was a decent meal (though not particularly healthy) for $11. read more

When camping at governor dodge and after getting setup on the first night, who wants to futz with making dinner? If you like pizza and steer clear of the red hut and the blue domino, then order your homemade pie from dinos. They have three sizes and your typical wisco toppings. The crust is again typical wisco bar cracker crust. Unlike typical bar pizza, dinos pies are better than average. Ample cheese, slightly sweet pasty sauce, and reasonable amount of toppings makes for a happy belly. Clearly a local dive, the pickup process is simple and easy. Plan right and you can have a cold one while you wait for your pizza to finish baking. 'Sorry honey, I had to wait for a bit until it was ready, wink wink.' Sadly, I didn't plan so well this time. Went there for Friday fish fry. I ordered a two piece cod with cowboy hash browns. The cod portions were very small and were equivalent to one piece cod. The cowboy hash browns were tasteless and made me nauseous. My husband had the Cajun catfish with baked potato. The catfish was very small portion and had a tiny bit of Cajun spice sprinkled on it. The baked potato was a shade of brown. Very expensive and disappointing meal. We were still hungry so went to Kwik Trip for sandwiches. Do not recommend! read more

Comfy local bar with food and a great staff. The steak sandwich was cooked perfectly. The menu is pretty good considering the size of this bar. Service was great and staff was very friendly and attentive. Clean bathrooms also a plus. Seems popular with local as we noticed regulars popping in and out during our visit. read more

Great food. A little strange the menu is on the wall and nothing to actually hold to read from at the table. We ordered a 12" pizzA of black olives and half pepperoni. It was hot and delicious. My friend ordered a patty melt. She raved at how delicious it was. Another just dropped in and ordered Mozzarella Sticks. The cheese was warm and stringy in all the sticks not just the first few. We had a very pleasant experience at Dino's. After hiking at Governor Dodge, there weren't too many food options in town. Friendly staff, tasty pizza, and Spotted Cow. We did need to use the ATM to pull out cash, as they don't accept cards. ATM does charge a $2.75 fee. read more

service mediocre, then waitress went to get us refills she stuck her fingers in our cups to pinch them together so she could carry them at the same time while she had other stuff in her other hand. She refilled said glasses and brought them back to us, finger prints on the inside of the cup and all. Guess food sanitation courses are taught differently in this state. Wow amazing pizza, nice thin crisp crust, adequate toppings and good price,and the sauce wasn't acidic. They delivered to the hotel ROOM, not just the front desk. We are from out of town and prefer the local joints over the chains.....definitely will order again of we return to the area. read more

I came here 8 years ago with my wife while we were in town hiking in the state park. I decided to hop on the motorcycle and head out this way this morning. I had the the steak, shrimp, waffle fries, and baked beans. I was not disappointed. Food was very good and the folks that work here are very friendly. I'll be back next time I pass through town. Excellent Friday Fish Fry! The service was okay, and the atmosphere is authentic Wisconsin Tavern/Dive/Bar complete with a busy bar, the dice game, and several taxidermied deer heads on the wall. We had perch, bluegill, and popcorn shrimp. Each item was fantastic. Nicely seasoned, just the right amount of breading, and served piping hot. I also had a fairly standard, no-frills Brandy Old Fashioned. Altogether, our dinner was about $30 with tip. Very affordable. I'd definitely go back again! read more

What a neat surprise! We ate there today after hiking at Governor Dodge, and even the kids enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I was a little apprehensive at first because of the Old Style sign out front and the lack of windows but after entering and interrupting a few locals at the L shaped bar in front, we found clean tables and enjoyed salads, pizzas, chicken tenders, fried green beans- all was great, and Dino served us himself. In town for a hockey tournament tonight, we came in at 9:15 (we were the only patrons.) The bartender not only stayed open, but opened the kitchen and made us some of the best pizza I've ever had!!!! Great friendly WI tavern! I would totally recommend stopping in for the daily lunch specials. If your looking for a fancy place, this is not a fancy place. It's a local small tavern. The specials are usually posted on the website. Friendly service and cold beer to wash your homemade lunch down. I stopped in for a cold one and noticed they have regulars that visit and eat lunch here, and they all ordered the daily special. On my next visit I ordered the daily lunch special and WOW it was great! If your looking for a hot homemade delicious lunch with a great price this is your place! Stopped in Dodgeville while driving on US 18 and reading the other reviews. Was there on a Friday and decided to try the Fish Fry. The fried cod was good, not greasy. Ordered the pub chips and beans as sides. Both were good. The portions were just right. Service was slow, the tables were all full and the one waitress was overwhelmed by the numbers she had to take care of. My order took a while to take and be prepare. The waitress was mindful of my soda and didn't let the glass go empty. The atmosphere was your typical, small town bar. Cozy and comfortable. The price was great, $9.75 for my meal and soda. We googled this place and stopped by. The food was awesome (great bar food) and the prices are very low (Cheeseburger for $3.50). Definitely worth the trip or stop off the highway. I'm in town for work and usually try and go local. Dino's is a bar but one side is set up more like a restaurant. Dino and the staff were super friendly and made me feel at home. My Dino burger was good and they have a small selection of regional beers on tap. It's just good bar food and cheap beer. What else do you need? After searching internet for places to Eat while on our Anniversary trip we decided to five Dino's a try. Small town bar atmosphere made us feel right at home. We are from Northern WI. The beer was ice cold and my Husband was able to get his favorite whiskey. When we asked , since most bars south of Point don't carry it, Dino replied for the folks from up North, with a smile. For a small town, dive bar-type place, it's the friendliest, most down-to-earth bar 'n grill with the best real food in Dodgeville. Not that there's a lot of competition, but Dino's offers some great, homestyle creations as well as your typical bar food. Plus Dino is a pretty decent guy. Claustrophobic patio out back but hey, it's outdoor seating. The only other outdoor seating in Dodgeville is in a parking lot. And Dino's is the only delivery in town! read more
