Rachel A waited on us and took time to find out what was gluten free for me. She was efficient, friendly, and got everything right! We got the homemade chips appetizer. One of the best things I've tried. Hubs got a burger and mac & cheese that he said was wonderful. I got the pulled pork with slaw and corn pudding. Everything was so good. We drive this route often and need to make this a regular stop.

We arrived around 5pm and the place was already filling up fast, always a good sign. We were seated in the enclosed front patio area which had a really comfortable atmosphere. Jessica was our server and she was pleasant, efficient, and kept everything moving smoothly even as the dinner rush picked up. I ordered the combo platter with sliced brisket and a quarter smoked chicken. I went with the leg quarter since I'm a dark meat fan, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was juicy, tender, and literally falling off the bone. The brisket was thick sliced with a beautiful bark, a slight smoke ring, and was so fork tender it just fell apart. Easily the highlight of the meal. The platter came with two sides and homemade cornbread. The cornbread was light, delicate, slightly sweet, and very good. For sides I chose the grilled green beans and house smashed potatoes. The green beans were actually grilled and tossed with mushrooms and onions which gave them great flavor, and the smashed potatoes were solid too. Great food, friendly service, and definitely a spot I'd drive back to again.

Amazing rolls, friendly service, and great value in a fun (somewhat loud) family friendly environment. My only complaint is that I ordered my steak rare and it was more of a medium rare. It was well seasoned though and delicious.

Service was great and no problems there. The pork chop was well seasoned and tasted good. I ordered my steak Medium, no I understand that when you order medium sometimes you get medium well or medium rare depending on the cook but some form of medium is expected. A sirloin is the premium steak so I get that it's going to be in the lower end of quality. When my steak arrived it was pretty dry looking but my waiter (who did a fine job generally) was not around to say anything. Regardless I figured this steak was going to be the medium well side of things. In fact this steak was Well Well Done. Luckily I'm the kind who can go ahead and eat a steak this way though not my preference. It was dried out and very tough as expected. Finally after a bit my waiter came by and asked how everything was, to his credit he offered to have another cooked for me but I had already eaten half of it and I wasn't telling him for the new steak or refund or anything like that. I was more so letting him know that either the grill was running too hot or maybe they gave me the wrong steak and be on the lookout for someone saying they had an undercooked one (mine?) Overall not the best eating experience and if I was someone who refused to eat well done it would have been unfortunate to have to send it back. A little over cooked I get, but this well done was a total miss. Also when did A1 start coming in a serving cup and not just a bottle at the table? I definitely needed it as this steak was too dry. Atmosphere was a nice country vibe as always and hit the mark for the feel.

My girlfriend opted for the two meat combo. I had the brisket, pulled pork and jalapeño cheddar kielbasa along with green beans and coleslaw. My girlfriend selected the chicken breast and pulled pork with mac and cheese and baked beans. The meats lacked seasoning and were quite dry. The jalapeño cheddar kielbasa was missing something...oh yeah the taste of jalapeño! You can see by the photo that the quantity was on the smaller side too. The drinks are $3.99 each in the yellow cups. So two combos and two drinks brought us to just over $50 before tip. We asked for sweetener for the unsweet tea and were told to see the bartender for that. Wait, I just tipped at the register which is right next to the tea, but now I have to go see the bartender to get sweetener? We ordered our food, went and sat down and ate. We never saw anyone come by to see if we needed anything. Still trying to figure out what the tip was for? Honestly, the best part of the establishment was hearing The Blind Guitarist sing! We drove down from South Bloomfield to eat here. Bad decision on our part.

She took the time to walk us through the menu and even shared how she cashed in her retirement to follow her dream of owning this place. You can tell her heart is in every bite. The menu covers all the good stuff--burgers, fried bologna, chicken tenders--but as the name suggests, the real stars are the loaded hot dogs. They start with a big locally sourced 6-to-1 all-beef dog and then pile on some wild toppings. I went with the Mactastic Dog--two strips of grilled bacon, creamy housemade mac & cheese, and a drizzle of sweet and tangy BBQ sauce, all on a perfectly steamed bun. Absolute perfection. I also couldn't resist trying the Bologna Coney, which was a thick grilled slice of bologna (cut in half) topped with Debbie's "almost famous" homemade coney sauce, a hit of stadium mustard, diced onions, and a generous handful of shredded cheese. I made it a combo with fries and a drink, and it did not disappoint. My wife ordered the Slaw Dog and loved every bite. As a former chef, I've got a soft spot for simple food done right--and that's exactly what Crazy Dog Grill delivers. The place itself has a fun, casual vibe with tables on two levels and some great classic rock playing in the background. If you're anywhere near Chillicothe, run, don't walk to Crazy Dog Grill. Ask for Debbie's "almost famous" coney sauce (I'm trying to make it officially famous!), and if you're a mac and cheese lover--trust me--get the Mactastic Dog. You'll thank me later.
