If I could give this a higher score than 5 stars I would! Out of every place I've ever reviewed, this has definitely earned the #1 highest rating I could give. Everything about this place was absolutely exceptional. Starting with service! The woman that greeted us when we came in and took our order, is one of the sweetest ladies ever. I just kept telling my husband after each small interaction with her "oh my gosh I just love her". It's an incredibly warm and inviting space, and I wish we lived closer just to be able to experience that alone more often. But lord have mercy, the food? They knocked it out of the park!!! They have a huge menu with all sorts of stuff that you don't see super often. We got the Chicago dog, the BBQ burger, the sweet potato fries, onion rings, and a blackberry shake. Those sweet potato fries will have me dreaming about them until I can make my way back here. There's no amount of praise to do this place justice! So weirdly expensive for a hot dog joint. 2 Dawgs and fries will have you in the $20 range. I had the chili cheese dawg which was good as well as a corn dog and tots. I later added a vanilla shake which was another ten dollars. It was all good and the shake was fantastic but it was over $30 per person. For a hot dog shack! They literally have two $11 hot dogs...what? My daughter's Philly Cheese was a steak sandwich. Not thinly sliced steak but great honking chunks of steak. It was a tough sandwich to get down. Service was fast and friendly and the restaurant had a run down diner vibe. You could probably pare it down to $20 a person but that is still bonkers for sandwich and fries. Big credit goes to Corky's for serving Vienna Hot Dogs from Chicago on poppy seed buns! The cost is a little more than what you'd pay for the exact same thing in Chicago, but you're not in Chicago! They also serve Italian Beef sandwiches, not exactly the same as what you'd find in Chicago, but big kudos for the effort. Fantastic hotdog probably the best here in Brevard. I'm kind of simplistic on my hotdog where I only want mustard and onions and they serve them perfectly. The pimento burger was top tier, the dogs were a little beefy for my taste but still yummy. Cajun fries were hot, delicious in some cool ranch. My mom and I are passing through town and decided we needed some BBQ. I checked my go-to Yelp reviews and found this place just down the road. The inside is super cute and we instantly knew this was going to be a fun place. The young girl at the counter taking our order was super nice and helpful answering our questions. I orders the bbq plate which is 1/2 rack of ribs with pulled pork and cole slaw. Mom got a 1/2 rack of ribs. We really loved the ribs and cole slaw! The pulled pork was not my type as I smoke bbq at home all of the time. I'd try the chicken with ribs the next time. That being said, this place was awesome! Very crowded Sunday afternoon. Drove by this place many times over the past year, finally decided to stop in. Had the Dirty Dog. A $8.00 hot dog with chili, bacon crumbles and spicy fries. Great food after hiking all day and we hiked in the snow today, so we were really hungry. We've been before and it was so good we stopped again. Great burgers,dogs and fries. What a fun place to have lunch! We liked looking around at the decor as we waited in line to order. I especially appreciated the sign about whining. We tried the chicken Caesar (I loved it!) and Italian sausage (Husband liked it, but thought French bread should be used & gravy should be included in the price.). Our friends had the BLT and burger. They live here and recommended it because they love the food and atmosphere. The bathrooms were clean and decorated. The whole place was decorated with nostalgia. The service was also good. This is an adorable little restaurant. With a really large menu. Now I'm gonna be honest. It's a bit on the expensive side, but the food is really good and the ambience is adorable. Cutest place EVER!! They are known as spectacular milkshake makers. Watching them come from behind the bar with giant ice cream milkshakes with cakes, candies decorated wildly!! This was, literally, a last minute punt to find some post-race food and a beer in Brevard after finishing PMBAR and cleaning up. I was searching for a pub and, being so late when I could finally get into town, most places were closed or closing soon. Corky's was no exception... I walked in with about 25 minutes to go before closing and they didn't bat an eye. Ordered a Chicago dog, basket of fries, and a Dales Pale Ale to wash it all down. Everything was super fresh, hot, seasoned perfectly and went down much more quickly than I probably should have eaten it. We were passing through on vacation. We came because of the high ratings. I did notice that people said it was expensive but I thought it might be worth it. We had a half rack of ribs (which came with a 2 oz. cup of slaw, a meatloaf sandwich, and a basket of sweet potato fries. My son really liked the ribs. The cole slaw was very good. The meatloaf was pretty good. The sweet potato fries were smothered in cinnamon and brown sugar - so much that I stopped eating them halfway through. It was just too much. Even if I had ordered them without the cinnamon and sugar, I'm not sure they would have as good as I hoped. They were more soft than crispy. But the bottom line is that it wasn't worth the extraordinary price: $39.33. $12 for the modest size meatloaf sandwich. $6-7 for a basket of fries. This review is a little long overdue. My family visited the Asheville, NC area about a month ago. On our trip to see some waterfalls we decided to stop for lunch. My mom suggested hot dogs which out this to the top of the list. So glad we picked this place! After we ordered we noticed many Chicago themed decor. Turns out the one of the owners was from the Chicago area. He also has a long background in restaurants and it shows here! I had the meatloaf sandwich which was amazing. Lots of flavor and cooked perfectly. I'm guessing even if you were not a fan of meatloaf you should give this one a try l. The meat has an amazing taste and texture. Also don't forget the ice cream. It is soft serve but is a much higher quality and actually qualifies to be called ice cream due to a higher fat content. I like Corky's because they serve Vienna brand hot dogs, this is the real deal you find anywhere in Chicago, but not in Western North Carolina. They also serve the hot dog on a poppy seed bun, it doesn't really get any better, they also have pickle spears, perfect on the hot dog...I did try their idea of the Chicago version of an Italian Beef Sandwich, that did not measure up...There are many other menu items, but I stick with the hot dog, they have all the toppings you would want, really perfect. They do not do a char dog, but the boiled dog is good enough. The staff does everything they can do to be accommodating, and service is pretty fast, considering they can get pretty busy. read more
